Multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington has announced his new solo album, The Pictures, out October 20th via Minaret Records. As a preview, the Darkside member has shared the single, “I’m Not a Dream.”
Spanning 27 songs, the project is described as “a love letter to the cinema” and a showcase of Harrington’s “eclectic taste,” as well as a “quiet nod” to his father and a “love song” to his family. He played every instrument on the album, ranging from the guitar to percussion, drums, upright bass, keyboards, and his fretless Turkish banjo. Pre-orders for The Pictures are ongoing via Bandcamp. Alanis Morissette was scheduled to perform with Olivia Rodrigo in a tribute performance to Carly Simon at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony but later pulled out. She has since issued a statement to counter “mis-informed rumblings” about her choice, saying the Hall of Fame, and the music industry in general, of fostering an “environment that reduces women.”
