- One of 162 officers arrested for attempting to integrate the white officers club at Freeman Field in Indiana in 1945. The incident became known as the Freeman Field Mutiny. He was the only person convicted by a court-martial, for 'jostling' another officer. He was fined $150, reduced in rank, and dishonorably discharged. He was issued a pardon in 1995 by President Bill Clinton.
