- On September 14, 2017, Chapman revealed she has been diagnosed with stage II throat cancer two weeks ago after months of a nagging cough. After Chapman was diagnosed with cancer, her husband Duane 'Dog' Chapman decided to share her story with fans. The result was an A&E Special series Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives (2017). Duane documented her doctor's visit, how Beth and Duane shared diagnosis with their family, the gruelling 13-hour surgery to have a stage II tumour removed and also the aftermath. Chapman later went cancer-free but the disease later returned and she ended up having an emergency surgery on November 27, 2018 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. On June 23, 2019, Chapman was admitted to Hawaii's Queen's Medical Center's where she was put into a medically-induced coma. She died early morning of June 26, 2019 of throat and lung cancer at the age of 51, after being unconscious for nearly a week.
