Benjamin Bakondi
Raised in New York City and attended college at the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst, and graduate schools Columbia University and
the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Ben earned Ph.D. in Cell
and Molecular Biology in 2011. His career as a scientist has focused on
developing therapies using stem cells to treat stroke, heart attack,
nerve crush injury, and cancers of the blood. He currently resides in
Los Angeles, CA and works at Cedars-Sinai's Regenerative Medicine
Institute, where he is investigating the use of stem cells for retinal
degenerative diseases. Ben also serves as scientific consultant for
scripts, films, and television.
