Tom Brady agreed to be roasted in Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time, but one particular joke seemingly went too far for the NFL Hall of Famer.
One of the early moments from the comedy special that went viral was when the seven-time Super Bowl champion got off of his seat to whisper something to Jeff Ross.
As the “Roastmaster General,” Ross came on stage to roast Brady, and one particular joke seemingly ticked off the former football player.

The legal drama “Suits” may have been the show of the summer, but another beloved USA property is on top now.
Tony Shalhoub reprises his Emmy-winning role of Adrian Monk in “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie,” a Peacock original that sees the ol’ detective with obsessive compulsive disorder return for one last case (or is it?) in the age of Covid. In the 90-minute film, which is now streaming, Monk is preparing for his stepdaughter Molly’s (Caitlin McGee) upcoming nuptials when he finds himself pulled into an investigation involving a charismatic billionaire with his eyes set on space (James Purefoy).
During its original run from 2002 to 2009, “Monk” was a critically acclaimed comedy and an Emmy mainstay, taking home eight awards in all. The 1997 race for the Heisman Trophy will be explored in an installment of the 14th season of ESPN’s “30 for 30” series.
Titled “The Great Heisman Race of 1997,” the ESPN Films docu will debut on Dec. 9 on ESPN immediately following the broadcast of the Heisman Trophy Ceremony, which will air on the network.
The doc will focus on the race between Peyton Manning and Charles Woodson. Manning stunned the sports world in 1997 by deciding to return for his senior season at the University of Tennessee and spurning the NFL, making him the Heisman front-runner as he set his sights on an SEC Championship. But while Manning was the preseason favorite, other candidates arrived during the season including Washington State quarterback Ryan Leaf, Marshall University’s wide receiver Randy Moss and Woodson (University of Michigan). The docu, directed by Gentry Kirby, will use archival footage to examine and unpack the race for the hallowed honor.

The new ESPN+ original series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady — the star quarterback’s firsthand account of Super Bowl appearances over two decades — debuts Tues. Nov.16 with new episodes posting weekly.

Tom Brady is getting the Michael Jordan/”The Last Dance” treatment at ESPN. The NFL superstar and one of the greatest football players of all time will be the subject of “Man in the Arena,” a docuseries that will explore each of Brady’s Super Bowl appearances. It is set to debut on ESPN+ this fall.
A new trailer for the series was released just hours before Brady is set to take the field with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his record 10th Super Bowl and in search of his seventh Super Bowl title, which would give him more championships than any franchise in NFL history. Eli Manning knows a thing or two (it’s two) about the Super Bowl. More specifically, the New York Giants great knows a thing or two about beating Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.
This diehard Giants fan asked Manning how a quarterback can prepare to beat the legendary Brady, whom during Eli’s playing days quarterbacked the New England Patriots and now plays the position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And what can one offensive leader really do about the other one when they never actually meet on the field, save for a pregame handshake and postgame hug? Listen up, Patrick Mahomes.

The ESPN analyst and Hall of Fame pro football receiver wound up in the wrong state before his appearance on the sports network’s Sunday NFL Countdown. I’ve got a couple new promo spots for Venom that you’ve got to check out. This first one in the weirdest, though. It’s a ESPN promo called “New Mascot” and it shows Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock walk into a room for of innocent sports geeks, including former quarterback Charles Woodson and wide receiver Randy Moss, talking about sports mascots. For reason they think that Venom is the best choice. They bring him in the rom and he ends up trapping everyone, scaring the living shit out of them, and then proceeds to eat them. I don’t get it! I guess it’s supposed to be funny? Maybe people who watch ESPN will get it. It’s certainly the strangest add I’ve seen for the movie so far. The second promo spot features more footage of the villainous symbiote character, Riot.

As we all know, there are film fans everywhere, even (especially?) in the world of sports. That works out well, since athletes are granted a public forum with which to showcase their movie fandom that maybe, say, systems analysts or accountants are not. (Sorry, systems analysts and accountants.)
But while athletes (or coaches) paying homage to their favorite films is nothing that's necessarily new, those instances have come in varying degrees of devotion. Here, we have nine memorable cases of sports mimicking movies, either in front of the camera or on the field.
1. Falcons Tight End Tony Gonzalez Pulls an 'Anchorman'
The NBC Sunday Night Football intros are a double-edged sword: they're great in that they get you pumped for the game to a unique degree, but also silly in that they allow the players to do basically whatever the hell they want (see also: Randy Moss claiming to have...

New York -- This year's Espy nominees pit the Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees, the Super Bowl champion New York Giants against New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the Lakers' Kobe Bryant competing alongside this year's Boston Celtics.
Espn on Tuesday announced the nominees for the 16th annual ESPYs, which will be televised July 20. There are 37 categories, and the millions of votes -- there were 12.5 million last year -- can be sent in online and this year for the first time via mobile phone.
The Giants were nominated in several categories, all for its upset of the undefeated Patriots that was the most-watched Super Bowl in history. They are nominated for best team, best coach (Tom Coughlin), best play (Eli Manning's 32-yard pass to David Tyree), best upset and, of course, best game.
There's stiff competition in the best-game category, which also includes the Boston Red Sox's sweep of the Colorado Rockies to win its second World Series in four years; the Boston Celtics' recent championship against the Lakers in the NBA Finals; Kansas men's basketball and Tennessee women's basketball, which won the Ncaa championships; and the Detroit Red Wings that recently won the Stanley Cup.
Nominated for best moment is Jon Lester's May 19, 2008, no-hitter that took place a year after he returned to the Red Sox from cancer treatment; Danica Patrick's win of the Indy Japan 300; and the Central Washington University's sportsmanship when members of the team carried Western Oregon University's Sara Tucolsky around the bases after she collapsed in a playoff game. Best game nominees other than the Giants are the Celtics' come-from-behind victory against the Lakers plus the Kansas-Memphis Ot game.
Tiger Woods, who will have to sit the rest of the season after an injury in the Us Open, received nominations for best male athlete and best championship performance after he continued to play the Us Open even with a double stress fracture to his left knee. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant received nominations for best male athlete and best NBA player. The Patriots received individual nominations in best male athlete for Tom Brady, who also goes up against Manning in the category of best NFL player along with Randy Moss.
While most sports happen on TV, the ESPYs do crown the year's best sports movie. This year there are four nominees: dramas "Resurrecting the Champ," starring Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Hartnett and "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, plus comedies "Semi Pro" starring Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson and George Clooney's "Leatherheads," which stars Clooney and Renee Zellweger.
Three special awards were announced Tuesday. 1968 Olympic medalists John Carlos and Tommie Smith will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, for their fist-raising performance while receiving medals at the Mexico City Olympics. Former Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett will receive the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance after walking again after a serious spinal cord injury. And Texas Rangers player Josh Hamilton will receive the comeback award for his 2008 season.
