Emma Raducanu is only days away from an official return to tennis, and a lot of people are excited to see what will happen.
There have been very few players in recent years that have been as polarizing as Emma Raducanu. Her sudden rise was one of the most spectacular things the average tennis fan saw up until that point, so she became a star overnight.
As sudden as her rise was, her crashdown was a bit slower and took a while. Injuries, coaching changes, and bad performances all contributed to it, but it was mostly injuries because when she did play, she wasn't particularly bad, she just never was fully healthy.
2024 is supposed to change because she took a long time off to really get her body ready for tennis, and we're days away from finding out if she did. Former player Tim Henman thinks patience will be key for her in her comeback,...

Several players can win the upcoming Australian Open, but for former Atp player Tim Henman, one player stands above the rest, and it's Novak Djokovic.
The Serbian won the event in 2023 and will be the defending champion at the upcoming edition. He's also the most decorated tennis player ever in Melbourne, winning 10 of them in his career.
It was his first Grand Slam title, and the special bond between him and the Australian Open never stopped. Year after year, he kept coming back and lifting the trophy, and that's likely to happen this year, according to former player Tim Henman.
In a conversation with Eurosport, the Brit made a case for why Novak Djokovic is the clear favorite ahead of both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
I would put Djokovic as the clear favourite, there's no doubt in my mind. And then second favourite, I would put Alcaraz and Sinner together.

Carlos Alcaraz has a growing rivalry with Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune, and it's important for tennis, according to Eurosport analyst Tim Henman.
Rivalries are what many consider to be the driving forces of sport. While individuals can do it independently, rivalries make everything much better. Take modern tennis, for example.
We had Roger Federer, and he certainly revitalized his interest in tennis at his peak, but everything changed when Rafael Nadal showed up.
It wasn't a negative change; it made the sport even more interesting because we had this legendary battle and the privilege to watch it weekly. Then came Novak Djokovic, and then we had a 3-way battle with Andy Murray more often than not, making it even more interesting.
It does drive the sport forward, and it's why Tim Henman firmly believes that the new rivalries between Alcaraz, Rune, and Sinner are really good for the sport,...

Carlos Alcaraz was ahead of Jannik Sinner for much of 2023, but according to former Atp player Tim Henman, the Italian closed the gap by the end of the year.
The first half of the season saw Jannik Sinner play pretty solid tennis overall, but there was one youngster who was even better. Carlos Alcaraz was by far the best player in the first six months of the season, with Novak Djokovic being on par with him.
Jannik Sinner had his moment in the second half of the season with several trophies and an amazing run at the end of the season.
The way the Italian performed showed Henman that he basically closed the gap with Alcaraz from the start of the year. He explained his view of the rivalry in an interview with Eurosport.
It looks like when Sinner and Alcaraz have played, they've had incredible matches. They are different personalities.

Carlos Alcaraz had a solid year in 2023, but he'll need to improve further in 2024 if he wants to challenge Novak Djokovic consistently, according to former Atp player Tim Henman.
The Novak Djokovic - Carlos Alcaraz rivalry delivered some pretty big matches this year. The Wimbledon final was pretty great, and it was the match Alcaraz won against Djokovic.
They also played in Cincinnati, and that was arguably the best match of the year. Djokovic won that one at the Atp Finals, along with Roland Garros.
The Roland Garros match particularly sticks out because of how Djokovic could outlast the youngster in pretty brutal conditions. That match showed former player Tim Henman that the Spaniard has plenty to improve before consistently challenging Djokovic.
He's still so young. He's still learning. You reflect on what happened at Roland Garros in the semi-finals, where after two sets, he suddenly got a terrible cramp.

Former Atp player Tim Henman finds it very hard not to count Rafael Nadal as one of the favorites for Roland Garros.
It's quite self-explanatory why. No player dominated one event as much as Nadal did across many years. He's known as the King of Clay because he's just been so dominant on that surface and particularly so in Paris.
The 2024 Roland Garros will be quite interesting. There are several players who will be hoping to win, including Nadal, if everything goes well with his comeback.
We're only a few days away from the comeback, and by the time Roland Garros rolls around, Nadal should be in good shape. His history at the event simply can't be ignored, according to Henman who shared his thoughts with Eurosport.

Rafael Nadal will return to tennis in about a week, and former Atp player Tim Henman believes it's to try and win Grand Slams.
Rafael Nadal spent much of 2023 on the sidelines after injuring himself during the Australian Open in January. He was playing against Mackenzie McDonald when he injured his hip.
Instead of retiring immediately, Nadal toughened it out as the defending champion and lost standing up. That was likely a mistake, as his hip injury proved worse than initially thought.
He underwent surgery a few months later after conservative approaches failed and has since then been out. The return is nearing in Brisbane, and many wonder what to expect from Nadal.
He's not young anymore; he's missed an entire year of action and is returning from a tough injury and complicated surgery. It's unlikely he'll dominate immediately, according to many, but Tim Henman thinks he'll get there eventually,...

Six-time Grand Slam semifinalist Tim Henman gave his thoughts about Novak Djokovic before the new season begins.
Djokovic, who topped the set winning percentage in 2023, is set to defend his Australian Open crown, after winning it for an amazing 10th time. It was one of three Grand Slams that the Serbian legend won in his incredible 2023 season.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion is 36 years old, and what he is achieving at that age is unprecedented. Some wonder whether Djokovic will finally slow down next season and if the younger generation's time has come.
Henman does not agree with this and told Eurosport that he expects success to continue coming Djokovic's way in 2024.
"So, in 2024, for sure, Djokovic is the player to beat. I think he's the favourite at the start of the year and I still think he will dominate."

Most of the focus in the build-up to the Grand Slam tournament draw ceremonies entails the halves where the top four seeds landed.
That bit won't change with 10-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic facing his fiercest title challenge in Melbourne in recent memory. Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Jannik Sinner will all have a shot at dethroning the most decorated champion in the tournament's history.
But tennis fans will also take a keen interest in some intriguing first-round matches that could happen at next month's tournament, which is set for a historic Sunday start. In this article, we will list the five possible first-round matches worthy of everyone's attention.
5. Andy Murray vs Jack Draper
This could be the match where the baton is officially handed to Jack Draper as the new star of British men's tennis. According to former British star Tim Henman, Andy Murray's days on the Atp Tour are numbered.

Andy Murray might be playing his final season in 2024, according to fellow Brit Tin Henman, who didn't like his attitude late in 2023.
What Andy Murray has been able to do since his surgery has been utterly spectacular. It's inspiring and jaw-dropping, and it's pretty hard to describe how much it meant to the sport.
You could never deny Murray's passion for the sport, but this just cemented it. In any case, we don't know how long it will last. It could end tomorrow as Murray himself admitted that he'll retire when he can't compete anymore.
Former Atp player Tim Henman, who spoke to Eurosport, could see it happening after this year for various reasons.
I think it might be. I don't know. He's the only one that really knows that. But look, he's still so motivated. I've seen him practising at the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton. He's out there...

A pregnancy happened in the middle of all of that, and there was no way for her to play. Fast forward to now, Osaka looks very motivated to come back to her best self, which is likely to happen because she is realistically one of the best tennis players in the world at her peak.

Emma Raducanu is returning to tennis in about ten days, and she'll have to be patient due to her lack of experience.
Emma Raducanu achieved a lot in professional tennis, having a Grand Slam trophy in her cabinet, but she's still very inexperienced as a player. She hasn't played a full season, and she still hasn't played that many matches and, more importantly - played regularly.
Tennis is all about consistency, and she hasn't been consistent in that regard. One week, she's really good but then fails to keep it up, and it's because she's never done it before. Experience matters so much in tennis, and she doesn't have it.
The lack of it will make this comeback quite tricky as she'll hit the wall eventually, and how she handles that will be important to how it goes. Compatriot Tim Henman talked about her comeback to Eurosport and laid out what she might be facing.

Emma Raducanu 's decision to change coaches frequently throughout her career has been questioned by former British number one Tim Henman.

Murray wore a traditional Scottish kilt while his bride donned a show-stopping Swarovski crystal-encrusted gown by Jenny Packham. While the setting was grand and the two appeared to pull out all the stops for the big day,...

Andy Murray followed Novak Djokovic in being Mic'd up at his Wimbledon practice and it was a rather hilarious one.
Andy Murray is an underrated comic on the Atp Tour as many players admitted that he's a very funny guy. Some Brits would say that he's rather boring but he showed off his hilarious side during a mic'd up practice with his coach Ivan Lendl making an appearance as well.
Murray played some of his most iconic tennis under the guidance of the former legendary player and they teamed up once more for this final stage of his career. Just like Djokovic , Murray had a microphone during a practice as former player Tim Henman lead us through it.
The practice opened with Murray running into Djokovic who practiced in the slot before him on the centre court. Henman was in the front rows watching closely as Lendl followed along as well.

Former legendary player Mats Wilander truly believes that Andy Murray has what it takes to win Wimbledon once more.
Andy Murray dreams of winning Wimbledon. Even though he won't come out and say it publicly it's pretty clear that the Brit feels like he has enough for one more. He started well on the grass this year but stumbled the first time he faced a very good player .
In fairness, he was pretty tired of trying to get himself to be a seed at the even t which he failed to do ultimately. It's going to make his draw tougher but even then many assume that Sir Andy could get it done. It would be an incredible story. Ivanisevic's win at Wimbledon inspired a film, imagine what this would do.
When asked about the possibility, Eurosport's Tim Henman said that he doesn't see it . Fellow pundit John McEnroe wouldn't...

Andy Murray has been backed by former British number one Tim Henman to cause a few upsets at the 2023 Wimbledon .
Murray has made a successful start to the grass court season so far and he backed up a Surbiton Open win with another Challenger-level victory at the Nottingham Open on Sunday after he defeated Arthur Cazaux in straight sets. The victory in Nottingham also extended the 36-year-old's winning streak to ten matches .
The three-time Grand Slam champion is planning to keep the momentum going as he faces Alex de Minaur in the first round at Queen's on Tuesday before targetting a potential seeded entry at Wimbledon. Following Murray's return to form, Henman told the Metro that plenty of competitors will fear the Scot at SW19 this season.

Emma Raducanu is currently away from tennis and former player Tim Henman believes it's a great time to sort the coaching situation.
Raducanu's carer has been quite interesting so far with a ridiculous meteoric rise and slow decline in the last year. The Brit struggled with many injuries since starting to play regular tennis on the Wta Tour, injuries that resulted in her undergoing triple surgery earlier this year to address them.
Raducanu is currently away from the sport as s he recovers from the surgeries with the return date unknown. It's likely that it will happen sometime in the final quarter of 2023 which would be beneficial for her in order to prepare her body for next year. Henman has a simple way of going about the return. If she's healthy and ready she could play but not anytime sooner as he revealed to Metro .
It’s related to if she is healthy.

Andy Murray will be the only player in the draw of the 2023 Wimbledon that knows how it feels to beat the biggest favourite, Novak Djokovic .
Murray recently admitted that he still feels like one of the top players on grass and while that is up to debate, him being the only player in the Wimbledon draw to have ever beaten Novak Djokovic on grass is not.
Novak Djokovic won multiple Wimbledon events in his career and he's chasing Roger Federer's record of 8 trophies at the event. He might equal that record this year as he's won seven so far but he's not the only one dreaming about winning the event.
One of them is Andy Murray who is currently pursuing a seeding spot at the event and he's looked good so far. He's unbeaten on the surface though he didn't really face a really great player yet. Even so,...

Paula Badosa hasn't been very active on a tennis court recently, though quite a bit off it, as she also provided an injury update.
The last event Paula Badosa played was the Italian Open where she lost in the quarter-final against Jelena Ostapenko. Her year overall has been pretty good when she played but she hasn't played that much due to injuries. The form was trending in the right direction before Roland Garros, however, an injury happened again.
She withdrew from the Roland Garros because of it leaving many fans disappointed about the most recent development. Even so, Badosa was spotted in Paris at the time of the event taking part in a Ptpa meeting though that wasn't the only reason.
Eagle-eye fans spotted Badosa watching one of Stefanos Tsitsipas' matches. That began rumours of a possible romance as her previous high-profile one reportedly ended earlier this year. The pairing...

Andy Murray 's Wimbledon preparations are going well as he intends to play many matches on grass before Wimbledon.
Murray's initial plan a few weeks ago was to play at Roland Garros one more time. It was likely going to be the last time he ever plays the event so there was a reason behind it. Instead of playing at Roland Garros Murray opted to stay at home and prepare for the grass season taking a chance to play at the Surbiton Challenger .
It's been going well and he's going to contest the final on Sunday after beating Jordan Thompson in two sets in the semifinals. His next event will be the Nottingham Challenger next week as the Brit looks to add a few more matches on the Atp Challenger Tour as opposed to traveling to Stuttgart like he did last year.

Former player and coach of Serena Williams, Rennae Stubbs echoed the sentiments of many by calling on Stefanos Tsitsipas to consider his coaching situation.
Stefanos Tsitsipas established himself as a very good tennis player a few years ago by earning some impressive wins. The Greek player has solidified himself as a top-10 player on the Atp Tour for a while now but taking the next step seems to be an issue.
It's become so much so an issue that many wonder whether he actually regressed in recent years amid struggles to win a big title. There isn't a lack of trying as the Greek player tried multiple things including the hiring of additional coaches such as Mouratoglou and Philippoussis. He hasn't worked with Mouratoglou in a while and the latter was also let go recently.

Carlos Alcaraz 's level of quality on display during his Roland Garros quarter-final win over Stefanos Tsitsipas left pundit Tim Henman stunned.
Alcaraz raced to a three sets victory against world number five Tsitsipas and the Spanish player comfortably won 6-2, 6-1, 7-6. Although Tsitsipas later admitted that he wasn't at his best due to scheduling sleep and melatonin pills , the standard Alcaraz showed in the emphatic win cannot be underestimated.
After his one-sided victory against Tsitsipas, Alcaraz has received widespread praise for the way he dispatched a potentially tricky opponent with such ease. During his punditry role with Eurosport, Tim Henman praised the way Alcaraz dominated, which was made even more impressive against a player of Tsitsipas' ability.
"I think sometimes when you see these great players in the early rounds of Grand Slams, yes there can be a big gulf in the level, the quality, the ability of players,...

Andy Murray is one step ahead of his competition during the 2023 grass-court season as he signed up for an Atp Challenger event in Surbiton.
Historically, grass courts have been the best for the 36-year-old who won two Grand Slam titles on the green surfaces as well as an Olympic gold medal. Therefore, it's not a surprise that after he experienced two disappointing losses on clay, the decision was made to skip the 2023 Roland Garros.
That gave Murray at least a couple of weeks that he's now ahead of the rest of the field, preparing on the grass courts. And already during the second week of the Roland Garros, the Scot will play a tournament on the grass court as he received a wild card for an Atp Challenger in Surbiton.

Quite a lot of people consider Carlos Alcaraz the favourite for Roland Garros but Marion Bartoli doesn't think he's an overwhelming one.
Alcaraz has been really strong so far this year winning a couple of events including two big ones in Madrid and Indian Wells. The Spaniard has all the qualities needed to win Roland Garros and many consider him the favourite for the event.
Even Djokovic would put him ahead of himself but he's certainly not the only one. Alex Corretja sees him as the favourite, as do his Eurosport colleagues Tim Henman and Barbara Schett. Even so, for Marion Bartoli, he's not the overwhelming favourite because there are other contenders as well.

Andy Murray is likely to target his third Wimbledon career title in 2023, but former British number one Tim Henman feels that goal is just out of reach for the 35-year-old.
Murray showed signs of gradually returning to form in 2023 with a third-round run at the Australian Open, a Qatar Open final appearance and victory at the Challenger Aix-En Provence event in May. But a first-round loss to Fabio Fognini and a defeat against Stan Wawrinka at the Challenger Primrose event in Bordeaux on Wednesday led Murray to withdraw from the French Open.
The Brit's step back from the clay court event could signal that he wants to target grass season instead, including a return to Wimbledon. When speaking to Express Sport about Murray's chances in SW19 this season, Henman was realistic about the three-time Grand Slam winner's chances of progressing deep into the competition.
"I think winning it is probably a step too far.

A three-way contest between Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina is expected at Roland Garros according to Barbara Schett.
Yet Tim Henman believes world number one Swiatek is the stand-alone favourite. The trio have dominated women's singles in the 2023 season and Aryna Sabalenka sealed the first Grand Slam this year after she beat Rybakina in the Australian Open final.
But, Aryna Sabalenka has battled back to win two Wta 1000 events, Indian Wells and the Italian Open, while Swiatek has won the Qatar Open and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Novak Djokovic's 2023 clay-court season hasn't been that spectacular but he'll still start Roland Garros as an active champion of two Grand Slams.
Novak Djokovic hasn't played at his usual level so far this year which saw his ranking dip to number three. Alcaraz is now number one in the world with a proper showdown for the ranking likely to happen at this year's Roland Garros.
It's only a few days away and with Nadal withdrawing last week it looks to be an open draw. Some players are more favoured than others but it's very hard to predict how things will unfold. Djokovic's status is very interesting to some because he's the only legend that will be in Paris and Tim Henman spoke about his chances ahead of the event.
Djokovic’s standard is so high and we expect him to play brilliantly every day, but it’s not that easy.

What’s a wedding reception without “Shout?”
Newlyweds Pippa Middleton and James Matthews celebrated their nuptials at a lavish reception at the Middleton family estate in Bucklebury, England, on Saturday.
While Prince William and Kate Middleton were driven to the Middleton home in a Land Rover early in the evening, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were flown back to Kensington Palace in a helicopter with their nanny, Maria. The cute siblings stole the show at the ceremony at St. Mark’s Church on the Englefield Estate in the English county of Berkshire, then attended a champagne reception at the estate before retiring for the night.
Pippa, 33, was driven to the reception by her new 41-year-old financier husband in a rare E-type Jaguar. The bride’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, shared a snap of the pair, noting they had given “everyone time and attention,” at the wedding...

Get Your Own Back Live, Knightmare, Chloe from 24 and a bit of GroupOn? Jenny and Alex have been to the Fringe...
We've just spent a week at the Edinburgh Fringe, where we devoted equal amounts of time to eating, tutting and refusing leaflets. In between this, we managed to fit some shows in.
We're going to talk about some of these shows here, instead of telling you about the thousands of hipsters we encountered. Seriously, guy doing “street typing” on a typewriter – no thanks.
Get Your Own Back Live!
I'll cut to the chase here – being in the audience for Get Your Own Back Live was the most fun I've had since I was born. And I'm counting that time I found a bottle of mystery booze in a hedge.
The show is a pretty faithful (if cheaper and more self-aware) version of the original.

Andy Murray recorded his 42nd win at Wimbledon yesterday (June 30), and also marked his 10th year at the biggest tennis tournament in the world.
There have been many stories of triumph, tears and tantrums since making his debut as a gawky teenager in 2005, peaking at his incredible win eight years later in July 2013. Here's a look back at his decade of putting us through the emotional wringer each summer.
2005
Result: Third round
Hair level: Scruffy but short
The year after triumphing at the Junior Us Open, Murray had won his first senior matches at Queens just two weeks before his first Grand Slam. It was truly the changing of the guard as Tim Henman lost in the second round, the first time he failed to get to the second week since 1995.
Despite the presence of Sean Connery in the crowd, Murray's inexperience wasn't enough to beat David Nalbandian in a thrilling five-setter.

Congrats to Andy Murray and Kim Sears! The 27-year-old Scotland-born tennis star had wed his longtime girlfriend, BBC News reported on Sunday. The British outlet said the two exchanged vows at the 12th century Dunblane Cathedral in his hometown of Dunblane before making their way to a small reception for family members, including Murray's divorced parents and his grandparents, and close friends, such as former British tennis No. 1 star Tim Henman and his wife, BBC News reported. Andy Murray wed girlfriend Kim Sears on Saturday. The couple tied the knot in Andy's hometown of Dunblane, Scotland. After exchanging vows at a 12th-century cathedral, they were cheered on by family, friends, and a large crowd of fans. The bride beamed in her bespoke Jenny Packham gown, which was hand-embroidered and featured Swarovski crystals, and she was flanked by bridesmaids in long pink dresses by the same designer. Meanwhile, the groom paid homage to his heritage in a traditional kilt. The guest list included British tennis player Tim Henman; Andy's mom, tennis coach, and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Judy Murray; and Andy's brother and fellow tennis pro, Jamie Murray. Following the ceremony, the group moved on to a reception at Cromlix House, Andy's country hotel. Andy popped the big question in November after a long-term courtship that started in 2005. In the years since, Kim has become a familiar face...

It’s the end of the day and we’re tired and just want to laugh and cure cancer. Fortunately for us, we can do both by watching this two part video for Stand Up To Cancer UK (and then clicking on the link to donate money). In the videos, every geek girl’s favorite comedian/actor/director, Richard Ayoade, and maybe a few geek girls’ favorite tennis player, Andy Murray, audition a variety of celebrities for various roles in a biopic about Andy’s life. Michael Sheen, Andy Serkis, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, and Britney Spears all appear, as do a slew of celebrities that you might need to be an anglophile to recognize. Dara Ó Briain! Noel Fielding! Dynamo!? Tim Henman…?
The whole thing is very fun, and Murray is a really good sport about all the shots Ayoade takes at him. And of course, Ayoade is his usual delightful self.
