As far as iconic franchises go, George Miller’s Mad Max films are right up there among Hollywood’s favorite film series. Similar to his namesake George Lucas and his brainchild Star Wars, Miller created the dystopian action series back in 1979 with Mel Gibson, which was followed by three successful sequels in the 80s.

The franchise returned with a bang in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Now, the Lorenzo’s Oil director has roped in one of Hollywood’s big draws Anya Taylor-Joy along with Chris Hemsworth for the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Interestingly, this film has been in the making for many years , and was almost developed into an anime feature.

The Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson removed a man from the stage at a gig after he was seen being chased around by security.
The “Hard to Handle” band were performing at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday (20 November) when the incident took place.
In a moment caught on video, the man appeared alongside the band during the song “Stare It Cold”.
He was chased by security, who tried to push him off the stage, but it was only when guitarist Robinson shoved him with his guitar that the man jumped down.
Robinson was met with gasps and cheers from the crowd as the song came to a halt.
Singer Chris Robinson could be seen shouting at the stage invader from the audience.
“Hey, you throw that motherf***er out, right,” he said into the microphone. “You get the f*** out of here.” The band then restarted the song.

The football tournament kicked off in Qatar on Sunday (20 November), with England winning their first match 6-2 against Iran the following day.
After the win on Tuesday (21 November), the sports comedy show The Last Leg shared their anthem for the World Cup on social media, which was first broadcast during the episode on Friday (18 November).
To the tune of David Baddiel, Frank Skinner, and The Lightning Seeds’ track “Three Lions”, the parody song points to some of the controversies attached to the event and its host country.
Issues have included reports of mistreatment of migrant workers as well as Qatar’s criminilisation of homosexuality.
In The Last Leg’s version of the song, “It's becoming homophobic” is sung in place of the original chant: “It’s coming home, it’s coming.

In entertainment news branded “the biggest of the year”, Bob Iger has returned to Disney as CEO.
For those wondering why this particular update is causing so much excitement (the announcement was reportedly met with cheers at Disney World), Iger is the man behind some of the most lucrative deals in the studio’s history.
It’s thanks to Iger that Disney acquired Pixar, Lucasfilm and, yes, Marvel, in deals that cost and, more importantly, made billions. His contract expired in 2020 after 15 years at the top, with Bob Chapek taking over.
Chapek failed to instil confidence in Disney lovers in the same way that Iger did, though in fairness to him, the majority of his tenure occurred during a pandemic. For reasons unknown, Chapek has now stepped down as CEO, with a very unexpected memo going out to staff members on Sunday (20 November).

Carey Mulligan has revealed that Adam Sandler taught her to play basketball, after they became friendly when working on his new movie Spaceman.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday 21 November, Mulligan said many of her friends were surprised she was starring in a Sandler movie, given that he’s known for his wild comedies, while she’s known for serious dramatic roles in films such as Ryan Gosling film Drive and Steve McQueen’s sex addiction movie Shame.
“My friends were imagining me being in something funny, which clearly would never happen,” she said, laughing. “And I was like, ‘No, it’s like Uncut Gems Adam Sandler. Punch-Drunk Love Adam Sandler. Like, sad.’”
She told Kimmel that they filmed the sci-fi drama in Prague while the country was in lockdown, so to kill time off-set, they played basketball.
“He taught me how to play,” she said.

Harvey Weinstein, the convicted rapist and former film mogul currently facing an additional 60 years in prison, has criticised She Said.
The film is based on Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey’s 2019 book about the New York Times investigation that exposed Weinstein’s sexual assaults on women spanning decades. It opened in the US on Friday (18 November), but made just 2.8m (£2.3m) despite being released in more than 2,000 screens.
This result was in spite of the film’s positive reviews, as well as awards buzz for its lead stars Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan.
Following reports on the film’s box office takings, Weinstein’s spokesperson shared a statement with Variety despite not being asked for one. It was noted that Weinstein was unable to offer comment himself, so the spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, was speaking on his behalf.
