John Michael Montgomery suffered cuts and broken ribs when his tour bus crashed early Saturday.
Montgomery told fans in a Facebook post on the accident that he’s “doing well,” but will not be out on the road for a while. Montgomery and two other men were injured in the crash.
The accident happened as the bus was nearing Kentucky, Montgomery’s home state. The vehicle “veered off the interstate, struck an embankment, and overturned,” according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The report says Montgomery was traveling in a 2001 Prevost Featherlite bus.
He wrote, “I am grateful to the medics and highway patrol for their quick response to this difficult situation.”
The next stop on his tour is scheduled for September 24 in Indiana.
Montgomery has more than 30 singles on Billboard’s country music charts, with seven No. 1 hits among them. Those include “I Love The Way You Love Me,...

When it came time for Joshua Hedley to begin work on his second album, the polished Nineties country homage Neon Blue, the neo-traditionalist had only one guiding principle: make a record to be played on a pontoon boat.
“After these last couple years we’ve had, I felt like I didn’t want to hang my sad-sack, typical brand on people,” Hedley says. ‘I wanted to make a record that people could party to.”
Part of this was an artist’s desire to avoid self-repetition. Hedley’s 2018 debut, Mr. Jukebox,...

It’s interesting to note that people who make it big in the music business are usually those that fall on hard times when they’re young and don’t get much encouragement or get plenty of encouragement from their family and friends as they grow up. The in-betweeners seem to make it as well but their back story is usually as plain as vanilla ice cream in a white bowl unless there’s a controversy that happens somewhere along the line. John Michael Montgomery seems to be the type of person whose parents definitely agreed that music was the way to go and

Taking on “Vision of Love,” Thomas gave the 1990 hit a gospel makeover, standing in front of a waterfall of light and earning cheers from the crowd as the song’s energy rose halfway through.

Little Big Town's "Girl Crush" is the only Grammy nominee for Best Country Song that also contends for Song of the Year. Does that make it unbeatable in this contest? It just might. When a song is nominated in both categories, it almost always wins the country award. -Break- Subscribe to Gold Derby Breaking News Alerts & Experts’ Latest Oscar Predictions To find an exception to the rule, you have to go back to John Michael Montgomery's "I Can Love You Like That" in 1995, which was nominated in both races but lost Country Song to Vince Gill for "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Washington -- Music's biggest night came to Washington Wednesday at the annual Grammys on the Hill Awards, which honored Jennifer Hudson with the Recording Artist Coalition Award for her philanthropic and artistic achievements.
Hudson, a frequent visitor to the Obama White House who most recently performed Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" for President and Michelle Obama's first dance at an inaugural ball in January, said it was "so cool" being backstage with the Obamas and that the president requested her as a performer.
Of course the Boston bombing was on everyone's mind, and the show opened with a memorial message to the victims. Hudson sent her prayers to Boston too, saying, "When I saw the news, it just stopped me in my tracks. It's just heartbreaking."

And so the grand Idol wheel gains momentum, moving to the big stage. The top 12 men performed Tuesday (picking their own songs), with the top 12 women to sing on Wednesday. Out of them will come, on Thursday, the top 10, plus the judges' wild card picks. Let's just say there may have been ups and downs, but definitely no Sanjayas. This is a slick crowd! And most of them have arrived with their styles defined, and the judges inclined to praise - maybe overpraise? - the hopeful singers. Then again, how much does any of these three opinions influence viewer voting?...

"You're going to be receiving a lot of letters from home," Steven Tyler told 17-year-old Scotty McCreery after his performance during "American Idol's" Mar. 1 episode. Yes, it was a pretty cheesy statement, but still true. Scotty is definitely one of the fan favorites out of the Top 12 guys.

Speed-dialers, start your engines! It's here! The moment has arrived! Finally we are going to see the "American Idol" contestants perform (pretty much) live and we get to start voting. Who ya got?
J.Lo is looking very chic for her first live show. Steven looks like he just stepped out of an Aerosmith concert next door and popped over to judge. Randy is the Man in Black.
There is a sign in the audience that says "Tourette's Rocks." If that sign-maker had really been thinking, the sign would read "Tourette's [expletive, expletive] Rocks."
Ryan kind of clears things up about the process at this point by saying that after tonight and tomorrow, the Top 5 guys and Top 5 girls advance, then the judges get to choose Wild Cards - presumably a couple of each gender? Since we are 11 or 12 weeks from the finale? Start with 14 finalists, that gets you through 12 weeks leaving two standing at the end.
