As film fans around the world had been expecting, Oppenheimer triumphed at tonight's Oscars, taking home a total of seven awards. The runner up was Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things, with four, and the big surprise of the night was Emma Stone winning best Actress for her performance as Bella Baxter. Everyone had expected that prize to got to Lily Gladstone for their superb work in Killers Of The Flower Moon, but the two performances are so different that they're very difficult to compare. Stone herself seemed shocked and stressed how impressed she was by all of the other women nominated, as well as reminding viewers that film is a collaborative art and that she could not possibly have achieved that success without support from an amazing team.

Update, 11:44 Am Pt: Donald Trump urged protesters at the Capitol to “stay peaceful,” but he did not instruct them to disperse from the complex, where his supporters have breached the barricades and have been wandering through some of the halls near House and Senate chambers.
“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!” Trump tweeted.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump, speaking to a rally at the Ellipse, urged his backers to march to the Capitol as a joint session of Congress to count the electoral votes. Protesters breached barricades, forcing a lockdown through the complex. Vice President Mike Pence, who is presiding, reportedly has been evacuated.
Capitol Police had prepared for the expected demonstrators but were overwhelmed by the protesters.
The situation in the Capitol was bedlam. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-va) wrote on Twitter, “We’ve been given gas masks on the House floor.

In the drama category, the Pulitzer committee recognized A Strange Loop by Michael R. Jackson. Dataxu, a provider of software for marketing and media pros, has named Ed Montes president and general manager of TotalTV, its business unit that provides a solution for audience-based planning, targeting buying and measurement across linear, addressable and connected TV platforms.
Montes previously served as the company’s president of solutions and chief revenue officer. In the new role, he oversees all TotalTV sales, marketing, and product management, reporting directly to CEO Mike Baker.
Dataxu said the TotalTV business has grown rapidly since it launched in April 2018. According to the company, TotalTV addresses the challenge of linking people and the devices they watch video on using a system it calls OneView, which lets advertisers tie TV investment to specific business outcomes including digital and in-store purchase behavior.

Get ready to solve mysteries as the iconic Pokemon this March when the 3Ds game Detective Pikachu finally comes to the West along with one really big amiibo.
Detective Pikachu launched in Japan back in 2016 and hasn't been anywhere else since. Over here in the States, however, the name sounds familiar because Legendary Entertainment is working on a film based off of the Detective Pikachu game (which most recently signed on Ryan Reynolds to voice the titular Pokemon).
With filming on the movie set to begin soon, it should be no surprise that The Pokemon Company thinks it's a prime time to bring the game to the West. They announced today the game will launch on March 23, 2018 and will be coming with a giant Detective Pikachu amiibo that will absolutely dwarf your 3Ds when using it:
