Denny grew up in Hawaii, where she enjoyed all that the islands have to
offer such as scuba diving in the beautiful waters, golfing on the lush
golf courses and participating in every sport around. She moved to
Southern California where she joined a band as a drummer which led to
becoming a recording engineer at the age of 18. Along with all of that
Denise picked up photography. Shooting local bands and sneaking her
camera in to shoot bands like Thin Lizzy and Journey just to name a
few. Meeting up with a couple of Journey fans in San Francisco she had
the opportunity to experience many shows on the Frontiers tour in 83'
and The Raised on Radio in 86'. Memories that she holds dear to this
day. She continued as a recording engineer mixing both studio and live
sound and with a twist of fate met the President of Post Production for
Fox On Air Promo after a couple of phone calls and 2 interviews later
landed the job in the audio department for Fox Television. After a
couple of years doing that and missing the visual aspect of things she
decided to learn how to Edit. First learning how to edit on air promos
and wanting more that lead her to edit short films which then lead her
to editing feature films. Her first feature "Nine Lives" in 2005 a
movie by Dean Howell which did many film festivals through out the
United States and Europe. The trend continued with her next film a
short film by Samuel Dowe-Sandes called "Out of the Woods" that also
showed in festivals Tribeca 06' and the Aspen short festival 06'. The
one thing that is a common comment with regard to her editing style is
that she has a great sense of timing and knows how to capture the
moments that make the film. And that wonderful friendships have been
made with the directors and talent etc.. Today Denny continues editing
and producing films while heading her own post production company "Edit
This Productions" located Los Angeles.
