Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Chesapeake Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. We’ve got Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz on commentary so let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Jay Lethal def. Darby Allin The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Darby didn’t wait for Lethal to make his way down the ramp. They brawled all over ringside. Darby whipped Lethal into the steel guardrail. Satnam stepped in the way of Darby and Lethal, preventing Darby from hitting a tope suicida. Lethal catapulted Darby into the steel ring steps! Lethal locked on the figure four leglock outside the ring. Lethal stomped on the back of Darby’s knee. Lethal dumped Darby with a German Suplex on the ring apron. A new Aew World Champion and new World Trios Champions will soon be crowned. Aew President Tony Khan revealed on Wednesday’s Aew: Dynamite that the aforementioned titles have been vacated following an alleged backstage brawl between World Champion Cm Punk and World Trios Champions the Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks).
“Following All Out on pay-per-view this past Sunday night, I’ve been forced to vacate the Aew World Championship, as well as the Aew World Trios Championship,” Khan said at the top of the show.

Cm Punk had a lot to get off his chest in the aftermath of Aew All Out.
Punk recaptured the Aew World Championship at the conclusion of All Elite Wrestling’s quarterly pay-per-view event on Sunday night. During a post-show press conference — one that straddles the line between performative and non-fiction — Punk was heated. After an emotional rant about Aew affairs, Punk was asked about the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“F**k Sidney Crosby, f**k [Evgeni] Malkin,…” Punk said to an audible laugh from the reporters in the room. “And you know what? F**k Ron Francis. How about that? I’m still f**king pissed.

Welcome to this review of this weeks episode of Aew: Dark, I’m editor Phil and this weeks episode of Dark is another arena show rather than Aew Universal.
Match #1: Powerhouse Hobbs def. Jaysin Strife
My Thoughts: This was a total squash match (all be it an extended one) but one that saw Hobbs plaiyng with his opponent – throwing him around and generally beating him up! Hobbs needs a better finished than the torture rack though Imho.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Andrade El Idolo def. Jah-c
My Thoughts: Jah-c was a local talent that the crowd were definitely behind, even if he didn’t stand a chance against Andrade – who worked over Jah-c’s arm, and his face, in stiff fashion. Jah-c did get a few decent moves in before Andrade hit an armbar out of nowhere to get the submission win.

Welcome to this review of this weeks episode of Aew: Dark, I’m editor Phil and this weeks episode of Dark is Not from Aew Universal, instead this was filmed on the road in St. Louis and the larger crowd definitely makes a difference. Oh, and we’re back to nearly two hours of wrestling this week too!
Match #1: The Gunn Club def. Dark Order
My Thoughts: You’ve got to feel sorry for the Dark Order having to give up a winning streak to the Gunn Club of all people. I have no idea why Aew is insisting on having Billy Gunn and his two sons have an undefeated streak – it’s not like they’re remarkable wrestlers, they personify the midcard/jobber role perfectly and Dark Order are way above that station; and they have great skills to back that up. Uno, Reynolds and Cabana made this match work.

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew Dark: Elevation. I’m Phil and this weeks episode features a match between Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela – their feud apparently culminating/continuing on Dark, where most of this story has played out…And the breakdown of the Dark Order. It really is interesting to see both stories play out only on Aew’s YouTube shows and not across All shows like some other companies. Rewards those that watch all of Aew programming.
Match #1: Thunder Rosa def. Kaia McKenna
My Thoughts: Kaia McKenna was seriously no match for Thunder Rosa here. What little offense McKenna got in looked weak compared to the absolutely vicious attacks Rosa laid in on her. This one started out like most Rosa YouTube matches – opponent gets some offense in etc., but quickly switched into a absolute squash match.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Gunn Club def.

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Dark, a shorter show this week but one that features the highly anticipated Three Strikes match between Big Swole and Diamante… Though if you read the dirtsheets, that match might not be the big hurrah people expected it to be. Let’s see for ourselves!
Match #1: Lance Archer def. Jason Hotch
My Thoughts: Really? Again? Seriously it was bad enough getting this shtick on Elevation but to have the same thing occur on Dark seems a) a total waste of Lance Archer talents and b) a total waste of time. Can we stop with the “Archer throws his opponent in and around the ring” stuff now and get Archer some actual matches?
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: The Bunny def. Laynie Luck
My Thoughts: Laynie Luck gets another outing on Aew programming, this time against a particularly aggressive Bunny, who had help from Penelope Ford.

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew Dark: Elevation – the 25th episode of the show (already?!) which is the start of the Aew week… all they need now is a regular Thursday show right? This episode is headlined by a Death Triangle match (on a Dark show?!) which was very nearly overshadowed by the Bowens/Martin opener!
Match #1: Dante Martin def. Anthony Bowens
My Thoughts: Goddamn this was a great opening match. Yes, there were a coupled of telegraphed spots and a few clumnsy looking moves & pauses but for the most part these two put on a proverbial wrestling clinic. Totally agree with Eddie Kingston (excellent commentary as always from Kingston) that these two are the future of prefessional wrestling; both just need more time to finesse… which is what appearing on Dark and Elevation is for!

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Dark, I’m Phil and this is the last episode of Dark before Aew go back on the post-Covid road… Which means we might not be seeing some of the extras/enhancement talent going forward, which makes me sad. Anyway on with the review.
Match #1: Lance Archer def. Ryan Mantell
My Thoughts: Archer didin’t go ham on Ryan Mantell, giving the debuting wrestler a chance to show off before getting pummeled by Archer for the win. Made a real change seeing Archer wrestle for a little bit rather than just throw his opponent around the ring.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Qt Marshall & Aaron Solow def. Terrell & Terence Hughes

Opening with a replay of the post-Saturday Night Dynamite promo by Eddie Kingston (which was already available to view on Aew’s YouTube channel) this weeks episode of Aew Dark: Elevation is going to one of the final few before Aew hits the road and, I’m guessing, we don’t see as many indie wrestlers making their appearance(s) as enhancement talent on Dark and Elevation… Anyway, back to the review!
Match #1: Billy Gunn and Colten Gunn def. Jd Drake and Ryan Nemeth
My Thoughts: I was hoping for something interesting from this opener and instead we got another Gunn Club quasi-squash match; with Colten taking a beating from Nemeth and then Jd Drake (though there were a couple of botches and telegraphed spots as it happened), before tagging in his dad to run buck-wild on the Wingmen and get the win after hitting the Famouser on Nemeth.

Welcome to this weeks episode of Aew: Dark, I’m editor Phil and let’s not mess around with extraneous introductory waffle and let’s just jump straight into this weeks episode!
Match #1: Lance Archer def. Rex Lawless
My Thoughts: Well this one went on longer than expected for a Lance Archer squash match! Still this one didn’t go longer than two minutes with Archer eventually hitting the Blackout of Lawless for the win. Nice to see Archer taking on someone slightly bigger than normal too… seems unfair to have him throwing little guys around all the time.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brian Pillman Jr. def. Bear Bronson

Match #1: Lance Archer def. Zicky Dice
My Thoughts: Zicky Dice, formerly of Nwa (and a one-time Nwa TV Champion), makes he Aew debut getting completely destroyed by Lance Archer. Like Totally destroyed… Throw in the ring, around the ring, and in the air. Dice never stood a chance.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def. Willow Nightingale
My Thoughts: Between Ricky Starks’ reaction on commentary and Willow’s reaction in ring, this match made Abadon look even more freakish that usual. Willow Nightingale has been doing great work on Aew (and Roh) and it will be interesting to see her career trajectory in a few years time. Meanwhile Abadon… well sh was Abadon – badass and brutal as usual!

Welcome to this week’s column of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Mr. Rogers here with us. Mr. Rogers: Hello my television neighbor. I wanted to talk to you about violence. When people watch violence, that doesn’t make them violent. Violence is wanting to be violent and then choosing to be violent. When you watch wrestling, you are watching it because you want to watch wrestling. Watching wrestling doesn’t always have a meaning besides wanting to watch wrestling. Wrestling can be fun, but we should always remember that wrestling can hurt the people that do it, because it is violent. When wrestlers get hurt, that’s not your fault. However, you should always try to empathize with them when they are in pain. Mr. Robinson: Hello boys and girls! I’m in pain listening to this old-ass...

This weeks Elevation was a solid, if average, affair so lets see what Dark has for us… I’m Phil, this is Nerdly, and our Aew: Dark review starts now!
Match #1: Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston def. Milk Chocolate
My Thoughts: This one was over before it began. Moxely and Kingston got the jump on Milk Chocolate before Justin Roberts had even finished their introduction and the match was over in just over 30 seconds.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Evil Uno, Alan “5” Angels & Colt Cabana def. Andrew Palace, Spencer Slade & Cole Karter
My Thoughts: Another great trios match from the Dark Order. Whilst Evil Uno and Colt Cabana are the names in this match is was Alan “5” Angels that stole this one – dominating their opponents and looking damn tough doing it!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #3: Lance Archer def. Angel Fashion

This weeks Aew Dark: Elevation got a Lot of things right, so lets see if Aew can follow-up one great show with another… Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Dark!
Match #1: The Acclaimed def. Fuego Del Sol and D3
My Thoughts: No! Not another squash match for poor Fuego Del Sol. He’s got to get a win in someday doesn’t he? Much like their E;levation appearance, this match was pretty much to show how The acclaimed are back together and just as good as before Bowen’s injury. Just a shame Fuego had to be in yet another losing side.

Welcome to this weeks episode of Aew Dark: Elevation, Aew’s third “programme” of wrestling (but not the extra TV programme we’re still due on TNT apparently) that so far hasn’t done much to elevate it (pun intended) apart from its namesake on Tuesday nights… Though given the recent set of releases elsewhere, Aew made need this extra show to fit in all the new wrestlers they’ll likely pick up!
Match #1: Hangman Page def. Spencer Slade
My Thoughts: A squash if ever I saw one, this at lest gave us more of Spencer Slade, who last week was the butt of a joke about the headgear from the Aew commentary team but who, this week, I learned wears the headgear because he’s deaf. Remarkable that Slade has found a way to do what he loves; honestly inspiring Imho.

Match #1: Scu def. Jay Lyon & Midas Black
My thoughts: Lyon and Black got destroyed by Ftr on Elevation and now get destroyed by Scu on Dark… Though they did get some weird circus-esque manoeuvres in on Kazarian and Daniels. Though Wtf that move was I have no idea.
My score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Matt Sydal vs. Luther
My thoughts: Luther and his third eye versus Matt Sydal and his third eye. Seems like a match made in heaven… Though I really did miss Kuther throwing Serpentico around the ring like a lawn dart. Ultimately this was a pretty decent match, even if Luther constantly looked gassed.

Match #1: Powerhouse Hobbs def. Angel Fashion
Powerhouse Hobbs opened Dark with a match against Angel Fashion who, given that he lost in a tag team match against Team Taz’s Ricky Starks and Brian Cage last week, seems to be a human punching bag for the oragen and black mean machine crew. Oh, and this was a squash… As if you coudln’t guess given the size difference between these two men.
My score: 1 out of 5
Match #2: Scu def. Azriel & Danny Limelight

While Taylor may be new to some Roh fans, he isn’t new to pro wrestling. The California native is a couple years older than Williams and has five more years of experience. Taylor, who began training at Jesse Hernandez’s School of Hard Knocks when he was 16, has wrestled all over the world, including Japan and Mexico. Williams, a native of Brooklyn, is one of the best pound-for-pound competitors in the sport.

Welcome to another double-stuffed review of All Elite Wrestling: Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m doing the number-rating-only deal for this sucker. I’ll still recommend the matches that were the best, but that’s it Brad Pitt.

There’s plenty of good action from the last match, thanks to Starks (Carter did well as well).

There were some growing pains, but All Elite Wrestling has been able to hold its own during the days of Covid. In their last PPV, Double or Nothing 2020, they played up the situation with what’s probably the best ever use of the cinematic wrestling match gimmck with the Stadium Stampede. Now they’re getting ready for their next big PPV, Aew All Out 2020.
There’s some history behind the name of this PPV. Aew’s prototype show back in September 2018 was called All In, which centered around various wrestling promotions and indie talent working together. Aew officially launched a few months later and around its anniversary they had the first All Out. It gave us the crowning of the first Aew Champion in Chris Jericho, an all-women Casino Battle Royal, the surprise debut of Orange Cassidy, and the first (and hopefully not last) Cracker Barrel Clash.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and somebody got the turkey! We have to find this son of a b*tch and get the turkey back! Those damn turkey thieves don’t get to keep one damn bit of my pet turkey! We gotta get the legs back and the breasts back and…the white meat…back. Maybe I should bring a…Crock-Pot…with me…mmmmmmmm. Okay, let’s get to the matches before I boil my turkey in that Crock-Pot…
Match #1: Kip Sabian def. Michael Nakazawa
My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5 – This was getting good, but it got cut off before it could do anything you’d remember. I…smell that turkey cook. Sabian and Nakazawa did some great character stuff that I didn’t always care about, but appreciated nonetheless. All in all, this was a short but sweet opener.

Match #1: Wardlow (with Mjf) def. Luchasaurus (with Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
They were swinging from the fences at the outset of the match! Luchasaurus was taken down by a stiff lariat from Wardlow. “Wardlow just opened some eyes in a big way,” said Jim Ross. Wardlow tossed Luchasaurus into the ring and Wardlow went for another suplex but Luchasaurus escaped. Luchasaurus managed to get some kicks in before Wardlow took him down again. Match #1: Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes & Qt Marshall) def. John Silver and Alex Reynolds
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – I enjoyed this, with S&r really doing the big work here. It’s nice to see both of them getting to shine with ol’ Dustin and Qt. As matches go, this was meaty and mean, but never too showy.

Aew Dynamite was packed this week, with Brian Cage making his first appearance on the show after debuting at Double or Nothing, Ftr (formerly the Revival in WWE) made their Aew debut and to close the show, Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho had a pull-apart brawl that might be setting up a future match between the two.
Well, if you ask David Arquette, it is setting up a match for Tyson.
Arquette appeared on Boston sports radio station Weei Wednesday afternoon and implied that he knows when and where Tyson will make his return to the ring. Wednesday night, Tyson and Chris Jericho brawled as Aew Dynamite went off the air on TNT.
Arquette, who has been dabbling in pro wrestling again since 2018, appeared on an episode of Being the Elite last summer.

Match #1: Best Friends defeated Private Party
My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – This was a sparkly match. Sparkly is the word I’m sticking with…sparkly out the ass. While no Steiners/Road Warriors clash of maniacs frenzy, this was an encouraging sign for Aew’s tag division, as Pp did better than they have in the past, while the BFs line-danced their way to the win.

All Elite Wrestling’s PPV schedule is more sporadic than WWE’s. When they did their last show, Aew Revolution, it was on Leap Day. It was a different time. The coronavirus was still in the “not that big deal” phase where delaying the new James Bond movie seemed like a silly, exaggerated response. The match of the night was Hangman Page and Kenny Omega vs. the Young Bucks and the aftermath was very open-ended as all four men and Cody were set to take on the Inner Circle in what was supposed to be Aew’s version of War Games.
Soon after, they did a show in Jacksonville with no audience due to Covid-19 concerns. Next thing you know, they’re at Qt Marshall’s training facility in Georgia for a month’s worth of tapings, featuring 1/3 of the Aew roster and a handful of indie wrestlers. The Young...

Match #1: Colt Cabana defeated Shawn Dean
My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5 – This wasn’t bad, but it also felt like one of those old tune-up matches from back in the day and those just feel like a fast way to go real slow. Both guys looked good, but a little more time wouldn’t have hurt.
Match #2: Jurassic Express defeated Mike Reed & Ryan Rembrandt
My Opinion: 2.4 out of 5 – This wasn’t quite as exciting as I was expecting a match from the Je to be, but it wasn’t bad either.

Match #1: Lance Archer defeated Colt Cabana – TNT Championship Tournament Quarter-Final Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Colt and Archer met face to face in the ring and Archer belted Colt with a stiff shot, knocking him off his feet before the bell rang. Colt tried to fight back with strikes of his own but Archer rocked Colt again. “Colt’s not going to back down. He’s a veteran,” said Schiavone. Colt fired up and started chopping Archer’s chest. This only angered Archer, who plowed into Colt with a shoulder block.

Lance Archer finished up with a running elbow and then “the Blackout” for the three-count! “He blacks out another one, decimating Alan Angels,” said Tony. “Lance Archer dominates tonight!” concluded Jericho.

Match #1: Colt Cabana defeated Peter Avalon
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was a nice goof-ball bout that was not too heavy on the dip-s— s—, but needed a little more of an edge to feel important. Like a Hoobastank concert, this was several minutes of “don’t play with yourself next to Bradshaw”, because he likes a man’s ass. Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an empty arena show that has more wrestling without a crowd, thanks to the coronavirus panic. I just heard about the first American to get this and he said that if you get it, then get up and stay active, because the virus crystalizes in your lungs and makes it hard to breathe. No wonder why the old and sickly are so prone to this. If you’re young and/or healthy, then it sounds like getting out and about is not the worst thing to do, but the old should just stay in their homes where we young bucks can’t get those elderly sick. Also, old folks are constantly telling us that we are making this (albeit serious) illness out to be more than it is. Our elders have...

Match #1: Colt Cabana & Scu defeated The Dark Order The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
“The Dark Order are the #1 ranked tag team in Aew,” noted Tony Schiavone. After some classic catch-wrestling, Colt took down Grayson with head scissors. It’s a pain in the ass. My whole dumb plan would be to ask people to just give each other goods and services for free. Don’t wait for the governments to do this, because they won’t. I bet that if people did this for a week, we’d get addicted to that world without money in short order. Yeah, we’d have to re-assess how we live our lives (kiss restaurants and servants bye-bye…mostly), but I have faith that, when the chips are down, people will make the right decisions if you actually let them make the decision for them-selves. Welcome to the first National Wrestling Alliance: Powerrr review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I didn’t choose to name the damn show “Powerrr”. I think the extra “r” or two is there because of coke-lines or something. This show is a one-hour broadcast that is modeled on the old Jim Crockett TV format, so expect nostalgia lined with Punky Brewster hair-gel and Alf condoms, “because he can’t spend all day eating pussy…cat”. This isn’t always a show designed to offer great wrestling, but it does have some great production values and a very lively atmosphere. Let’s get to this time-warped trip through Billy Corgan’s bank account before he smashes my pumpkin.

We’ve got a decent one and a great one, which is less than the critics can say about The Rise Of Skywalker (they’re mad that Leia wasn’t revealed to be Darth Revan because it would have subverted expectations). Anyway, we have a show to get to.
Match #1: Dalton White Castle, Kenny Burger King (w/Amy Rose) and Burger Flip Gordon def. Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger (Beer City Bruiser) and Triple Cheeseburger (Brawler Milonas) – Colt Cabana’s Punderful Six-Man Tag Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Even though Gordon abandoned them during the match, Castle and King prevailed thanks to King rolling up Cheeseburger and pinning him while grabbing a handful of tights.
My Opinion:...

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor Wrestling’s Final Battle 2019, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the last big card of the year for Roh, which has Pco getting what would have been deemed impossible just a few years ago…a World Title Match. Yeah, this is pretty cool. Let’s get right into this.
Match #1: 2G1T (Silas Young and Josh Woods) defeated Dalton Castle and Joe Hendry The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
In a matchup of odd couple teams, Young and Woods — who have named their team 2 Guys, 1Tag — prevailed when Woods pinned Castle after Young had catapulted Castle into Woods’ flying knees.
My Opinion: 2.7 out of 5 – This was a waste of Castle, while Young and Hendry deserved better as well. The match came and went like something that no one cared about.

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…Martha! Why did you say that name? We’ve got some matches here, like Amber Heard nailing that dolphin from the part of Aquaman t…whoops! Damn TalkTech. Okay, let’s get to it.
Match #1: Dak Draper defeated Ryan Nova The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Draper tried to hand Nova a participation medal before the match, which didn’t sit well with Nova, who immediately went on the offensive. Draper quickly overwhelmed Nova. Nova rallied with a flurry of kicks and a cross armbreaker, but Draper powered out and hit a power bomb. Draper finished off Nova with the Magnum Drop. Draper then presented the fallen Nova with the participation medal.
My Opinion: 2.7 out of 5 – Whatsa matta you? Catta gotcha tongue? That’s Italian for, “Welcome to my home.

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor: Unauthorized – Hanukkah Comes Early: Eight Crazy Matches, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I didn’t name the f—–g thing. Oy! Arbor Day is for losers. Who needs a planet when you can have a super-model for breakfast? My political leanings aside, this is a show that is (supposedly) run by Colt Cabana, so expect Jimmy Dean kissing a donkey.
Match #1: Ultimo Guerrero defeated Jonathan Gresham The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Joe Hendry joined Ian Riccaboni on commentary and proceeded to sing all of his comments. Guerrero pinned Gresham after the Cmll legend hit Guerrero Especial from the top rope.
My Opinion: 3.5 out of 5 – This was a fabulous match that had to endure Joe Hendry on commentary…singing! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Jesus f—k. Why would you have Hendry sing while Ian is doing commentary? Would you...

Match #1: LifeBlood (Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams) defeated Brat Pack (Mitch Waterman and Nick Bury)
My Opinion: 3.3 out of 5 – It’s a shame that Roh didn’t have a write-up about this match in their recap, because it turned out well enough. Haskins and Williams have been the...
