Samuel Goldwyn Films has signed a worldwide catalog deal with Concord Originals for rights to three Rodgers & Hammerstein films. The distribution pact involves two classic Hollywood films, 1958’s “South Pacific” and 1955’s “Oklahoma.” It also includes a filmed Royal National Theatre production of “Oklahoma!” that was staged in 1998 and starred a pre-Wolverine Hugh Jackman. The films will be released on VOD and other home entertainment platforms in the fourth quarter of 2023. Goldwyn will also release all three films in new DVD and Blu-Ray anniversary editions.

Exclusive: Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi’s PatMa Productions’ has optioned podcast Cold from Ksl to develop into a TV series that tackles the issue of domestic abuse.
Cold chronicles the tragic circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a young Mormon wife and mother of two, Susan Powell.
Using actual case files, journal entries, and recordings, Cold examines Powell’s seemingly perfect marriage only to reveal harrowing details of domestic abuse. After deciding to escape the violence with her children, Susan suspiciously vanishes without explanation, without her children, in 2009 and remains missing to this day.
Her husband, who had been named a person of interest but never charged, subsequently killed himself and their young sons in a murder-suicide amid a custody dispute with Sudan’s parents.
Tassler, Di Novi, Joan Boorstein, Dave Cawley and Ksl Podcasts will executive produce the project, possibly a limited series, which will be taken out to the marketplace shortly.

Dylan Sprouse has teamed with sci-fi and fantasy magazine Heavy Metal and Allyance Media Group’s Diga Studios to bring his self-written comic book series to the page. The project is the first collaboration under Diga Studios and Heavy Metal’s recently announced partnership, which aims to bring Heavy Metal content to film, television, podcasts and more.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody alum Sprouse wrote and developed the as-yet-untitled comic book series over the past four years. It is described as “a deeply personal tale, drawn from his profound Viking enthusiasm and Norse Pagan affinity” and will fall under the Heavy Metal umbrella. Sprouse will executive produce the project.
Per producers, the project will initially be published as a comic book series, but Diga’s goal is to eventually take it off the page and onto the screen and beyond.

Exclusive: German powerhouse Constantin Film and U.S. outfit Jb Pictures are fast-tracking development on an as-yet-untitled action-horror movie based on the re-emergence of giant snake the Titanoboa. Think The Meg with serpent scales.
Jb Pictures’ Jeremy Bolt and Constantin’s Robert Kulzer are producing the film, which is slated to shoot in 2020. Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz is executive-producing. This is the same producing team behind the smash Resident Evil movie series and the upcoming franchise hopeful Monster Hunter, another video-game adaptation starring Milla Jovovich.
Tony Giglio, second unit director on Resident Evil: Afterlife and writer-director on upcoming live-action first-person shooter update Doom: Annihilation, is aboard to write the screenplay.
The Titanoboa is an extinct species of giant snake which lived in northeastern Colombia. They could grow up to 12.8 m (42 ft) long and reach a weight of 1,135 kg. The reptile existed around 58 to 60 million years ago and is the largest snake ever discovered.

The film is written and to be directed by Emmy-Award winning filmmaker Walter Hill (48 Hours, The Warriors). The screenplay is based upon a story by Denis Hamill.
The Solution Entertainment Group, co-founded by Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel, is handling international sales on the project and will introduce it to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market. ICM is representing North American rights.
The feature film will begin shooting on November 9th in Vancouver.
