Laura Schweigman is a film and television producer with over 20 years of seasoned experience. Based in New York and New Orleans, she is a proven leader and is best known for her outstanding work in The Deuce, Treme and The Wire. She is a member of the Producers Council of the Producers Guild of America, New York Women in Film and Television and for the Friends of the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic she is Chairperson.
In addition, Laura is a trailblazer and implemented workplace philanthropy initiatives before it was commonplace practice in the film industry. She incorporated community outreach and encouraged volunteerism in her productions, overseeing the development and planning charity fundraisers in cities throughout the United States. She was essential in coordinating successful tie-in exhibits, including "Well-Suited" The Costumes of Alonzo Wilson for HBO's Treme" curated at The Ogden Museum of Southern Art and "The Wire: Disconnected" at The Baltimore Museum of Industry.
Her leadership skills have set the industry standard with the development of successful internship programs that were launched and supervised on multiple productions in various cities. Laura also collaborated the content of numerous television companion books and DVD packages. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Technology, Film and Video from Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland.
