- After leaving Auschwitz, Dinah and her mother relocated to Paris where she took a job working as an assistant to Walt Disney Studios animator Art Babbitt. They later married and had two daughters before divorcing.
- Had the number "61016" tattooed into her forearm by Nazi officials while at Auschwitz. She later had it removed during an unrelated surgery.
- Along with her mother, she was imprisoned at the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust. While at Auschwitz, she painted portraits of many prisoners and story scenes to soothe the fears of young children who were destined to perish. Due to word of mouth, Josef Mengele the famous Nazi doctor ordered her to paint portraits at his request as racist mementos of his work at Auschwitz. In return, he removed her and her mother from a list of prisoners who were scheduled to be gassed. Her father and fiancé died elsewhere during the Holocaust.
