- Eidur Gudjohnsen was born on September 15, 1978 in Reykjavík, Iceland. He is an actor, known for Liverpool FC vs Chelsea FC (2005), Hidden Iceland and UEFA Champions League (1992).
- Chelsea footballer who first came to England in 1998 following a successful trial with Bolton Wanderers. He started off his career in his native Iceland with local club FC Valur before moving onto Holland to sign for PSV Eindhoven where he played alongside the Brazilian superstar Ronaldo as a teenager but a badly broken ankle threatened to end his career more or less as soon as it had begun prompting a return to Iceland with local club KR Reykjavik, but in the summer of 1998 Colin Todd, then manager of Bolton managed to help resurrect his career and after two years with the Trotters he moved onto Chelsea for a £4 million fee, a bargain it seems for such an accomplished striker.
- He made his international debut for Iceland when coming on as a substitute for them in a match against Estonia in April 1996, the person whom he replaced was his father, Arnor.
- Won the English Premiership title with Chelsea in April 2005 following a 2-0 win against his old club Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium. It was the first time in 50 years that Chelsea had won England's most prestigious prize.
- His father Arnór Gudjohnsen is also his agent.
- Jose Mourinho, the manager of Chelsea, said early in May 2006 that while Eidur was a very good footballer he would allow him to leave for the right price. Teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Newcastle, Manchester United, Blackburn, Sevilla and Arsenal are all interested in bringing him to them but Eidur himself has said that he would jump on the chance to join Barcelona.
