O.J. Simpson’s longtime attorney, who was named executor of the former NFL star’s will ahead of his death last week, has said he will ensure that any claim the parents of Ron Goldman make to retrieve the millions they were awarded in a 1998 civil judgment against the accused killer will be accepted by the estate.
Attorney Malcolm Lavergne, who represented Simpson from 2009 until the former running back’s death on April 10 after a battle with prostate cancer, said that he wants to walk back statements made last week while speaking by phone with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday afternoon. Lavergne had previously told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’d fight to prevent a payout of the $33.5 million judgment awarded to the families of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman; he said he specifically wanted Fred Goldman to receive “zero — nothing” of Simpson’s estate.

When O.J. Simpson died, it left a lot of polarizing feelings around those who knew him. Some mourned and others seemed happy to see him gone. However, one family felt nothing for his passing but is still angry that he didn’t follow through with a court order against him. Ron Goldman’s family said that Simpson never paid the judgment ruled against him.
Here is what the family said after Simpson’s death and what they plan to do to get the money.
O.J. Simpson Never Paid Ron Goldman’s Family After Lawsuit

The death of O.J. Simpson at 76 leaves the fate of his estate — whatever of that exists — in question.
The football great turned acquitted murderer said in recent years that he subsisted entirely off of his NFL and private pensions. Many of his most valuable possessions were seized following a 1997 civil trial that awarded $33.5 million to the families of Ron Goldman and Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, both brutally murdered outside her Brentwood apartment on June 12, 1994. The weapon, a knife, was never found.
“It increases by 10 percent every year,” Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022 of the civil trial amount awarded to the Goldmans. “It’s a ridiculous number, none of which has ever appeared. [Simpson] never paid one single penny. Anything that we were able to take was through our own efforts of taking things away from him.”

O.J. Simpson paid the family of Ron Goldman just a small fraction of the $33.5 million wrongful death judgment he owed them at the time of his death, an attorney for the Goldman family revealed Friday.
In 1997, after Simpson was acquitted in the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Goldman, a jury in a civil trial found him responsible for their deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million, which — with interest over the past 27 years — has ballooned to over $100 million.
Of that judgment, Simpson paid only $133,000, Goldman family attorney David Cook told People.

Khloe Kardashian’s paternity has been a highly controversial topic of discussion. It is believed that the young Kardashian is not the biological daughter of Robert Kardashian. A conspiracy theory suggests that the 39-year-old is the daughter of the late O.J. Simpson. Although all the parties have repeatedly denied the rumors, several hints suggest that this can be a true possibility.

The conspiracy theory started soon after Kris Jenner confessed in her memoir Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian in 2011 that she had an affair while being married to the late Robert Kardashian. As if it was enough to raise the buzz, a statement by Robert Kardashian’s second wife Jan Ashley brought the Kardashians face-to-face with one of the most high-profile controversies.

The family of O.J. Simpson has shared the news that he died of cancer. He was 76.
A statement posted on Simpson’s X account read: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Simpson nicknamed “The Juice” was a former NFL star who got into broadcasting and acting following his football career. But what most people remember is that he stood trial for the brutal 1994 slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and restaurant waiter, Ron Goldman.
While Simpson was acquitted in the double murder trial, he was found responsible for the deaths in a civil lawsuit and ordered to pay more than $30 million to the Goldman family. Some are wondering now if he ever paid any of that money.

It has been nearly three decades since Fred Goldman and daughter Kim Goldman were transformed almost overnight into reluctant celebrities amid almost inconceivable grief for Ron Goldman — their son and brother, respectively. Ron was a 25-year-old tennis instructor and waiter who was murdered, along with Nicole Brown Simpson, outside her Brentwood home on July 12, 1994. Ron was there to return a pair of sunglasses that Nicole’s mother had left at his restaurant — but in a dark twist, he came upon Nicole’s murder scene and met the same fate.
What followed was dubbed the Trial of the Century, with Nicole’s estranged husband, NFL star turned actor O.J. Simpson, ultimately being found not guilty of either killing. A civil lawsuit in 1997 did find Simpson liable for both deaths and awarded the Goldmans millions in damages — less than 1 percent of which they say has been recouped.

Dressed in blue short-sleeves and jeans, Simpson, now 70, spoke at length in his defense at the hearing, which began at 10 a.m. local time. He appeared fit, relaxed and articulate, regularly cracking jokes to laughter from other attendees. At times he showed flashes of...

Ron Goldman's father says his family may never see justice for his killing, hours before O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of his son's murder, will plead his case for parole in an unrelated crime case. The retired NFL star has spent the past nine years in jail—his minimum sentence—for taking part in an armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room, in which he claimed he was retrieving items that sports collectibles dealers took from him. If he is granted parole Thursday, he will be spared his maximum sentence of 33 years behind bars and could be released this October. "Needless to say, [I'm] upset," Ron's father Fred Goldman said on Good Morning...

Ron Goldman's father, Fred Goldman, fought back tears as he talked about the possibility that O.J. Simpson might soon walk free.
On Thursday, just hours prior to Simpson's parole hearing in Lovelock, Nevada, Ron Goldman's dad and his sister, Kim Goldman, sat down with Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos to talk about what life has been like since the former NFL pro started serving a prison sentence for his part in the robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas in September 2007 -- and the possibility that he could be released as early as Oct. 1.

The TV event of 2016 so far was surely FX's marvelous miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which turned the Trial of the (last) Century into 10 fascinating, funny, tragic hours of drama that shed new light on a case that most of its viewers thought they already knew by heart. Given the phenomenon of The People v. O.J., you would think a five-part, 7.5-hour (10 with commercials) documentary on the same subject would be redundant. Who needs to spend even more time watching a retelling of Simpson's trial for murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman? Instead, Espn's newest 30 for 30 film O.J. Simpson: Made in America(*) proves to not only be better than The People v. O.J. — and among the best things Espn has aired in its history — but a perfect complement to the FX show. Where People v. O.J. was...

One of the most iconic moments of the Trial of the Century came when O.J. Simpson struggled to put on a pair of shrunken bloody gloves found at the crime scene where the NFL star's ex-wife and her friend were brutally murdered. Despite DNA evidence prosecutors believe linked Simpson to the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, many believe the bloody glove episode clinched the case for the defense - especially when Simpson's lead attorney, Johnny Cochran, famously said, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit." But prosecutor Christopher Darden, who tried Simpson along with lead prosecutor Marcia Clark,...

Ron Goldman’s father and sister apparently aren’t among the many fans of FX’s “The People v. Oj Simpson.” Fred Goldman and Kim Goldman are appearing on “Steve Harvey” on Tuesday, and a preview snippet reveals that they’re not happy with their family tragedy playing out all over again on the small screen. Kim Goldman, in particular, compared the experience to having “gallons of salt” poured in a newly re-opened wound. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is still not sitting well with the family of Ron Goldman. Kim Goldman, Ron's sister, and Fred Goldman, Ron's father, appeared on The Steve Harvey Show and addressed the popular FX series. Fred said he was troubled by the series and its focus on the attorneys involved with the trial. "Ron and Nicole appeared as dead bodies in the beginning and that's it. So far there's not been a mention of them again, and I suspect that's the way it'll continue. There's going to be a whole generation of people who never knew anything about this trial that will see this series and take it as gospel, when in fact it won't be and isn't," Fred told Steve...

Marcia Clark, the former Los Angeles County prosecutor who was the lead attorney on the O.J. Simpson murder case, says the 1994-95 trial "was a nightmare for me every single day." Clark — along with a slew of other individuals who were part of the so-called "Trial of the Century," from Kris Jenner to Fred Goldman — sat down with NBC's Dateline for an episode that aired Sunday night. Before the trial even started, Clark recalls, she didn't have a good feeling about the way things were headed in the murder trial, in which Simpson was ultimately

With news that a knife might have been found buried on the former estate of O.J. Simpson, the father of murder victim Ron Goldman told the media on Friday that the police officer who reportedly held onto the knife for years “wasn’t doing his job.” “Obviously wasn’t doing his job. His responsibility was to turn it in and not try to use it as a piece of memorabilia,” Fred Goldman told the New York Daily News. The knife was reportedly found by a construction worker at Simpson’s former estate in Brentwood, California, and was turned over to an off-duty.

A few thoughts on tonight's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story coming up just as soon as I do this pro bono to reintroduce myself to the public... The O.J. trial was simultaneously farce and tragedy, and it's to this series' credit that it manages to capture both of those tones without feeling like whiplash. An episode like "100 Percent Not Guilty" largely dwells on the circus of it all, with Bob Shapiro and Johnnie Cochran jockeying for control of the defense team, Faye Resnick putting out a book, the celebrity-obsessed Lance Ito being named judge for the trial, and more. And a lot of that stuff is fun, particularly in the rest of the Dream Team struggling to hide their bewilderment and/or contempt for Shapiro as he reveals just how unprepared he is for any of this. Yet the episode's able to turn on a...

It's time to feel what they feel. Or at least, a tiny sliver of it. Although the victims' families so far haven't been fully supportive of FX's new miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson, they are front and center in tonight's fourth episode, in what is perhaps the most emotionally gripping moment so far. In the episode, Ron Goldman's father and sister meet with lead prosecutor Marcia Clark, who, seemingly at a loss for words, reassures them, "I know what you're going through." "Do you?" Fred Goldman scoffs, through tears and a trembling voice. "Do you have a son who was murdered? Ron is dead and it's like no one even cares. I turn on the TV and...

O.J. Simpson reportedly praised a new documentary suggesting that a serial killer, and not the former football star, killed Nicole Simpson.
Fox News spoke to a source that said Simpson "loves" the documentary, called "My Brother the Serial Killer." It airs at 9 p.m. Wednesday on Investigation Discovery.
“O.J. absolutely loves it,” a source told FOX411's Pop Tarts column. “He loves that the documentary is out and the idea that people are talking about him but he's not the one being blamed. Typical O.J. stuff.”
Family members of Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were enraged by the documentary, which floats the theory that serial killer Glen Rogers killed the pair in 1994.
"The overwhelming evidence at the criminal trial proved that one, and only one, person murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman," Fred Goldman, the father of Ronald Goldman said in a statement to CNN.
