Lamont Cortez Wilson Jr, Also known as Safari Wilson, is an American actor and musician From Michigan. From a young age, Lamont displayed a keen interest in music and film, and he taught himself to play multiple instruments, including the drums, piano, and guitar.
His mother, Niya Helton, who was a model and actress at the time, served as an inspiration to Lamont. As a child, he spent time on movie and stage play sets with his mother, which motivated him to pursue a career in acting. His first acting role was in The Last Supper (2006), where he played one of the children who approached Jesus. He landed several small parts in other projects. After taking a break in 2014, he decided to make a comeback in 2017 at only 14 years old.
Together with his cousin Kevon Douglas, Lamont created a YouTube channel where they posted short horror films shot on their phones. The videos garnered a small fan following, which encouraged Lamont to delve more deeply into the film and acting industry. In 2021, he changed his stage name to Safari Wilson, and in 2022, he began uploading videos of his drum covers, which caught the attention of many musicians, including Michael Jackson's drummer, Jonathan SugerFoot Moffet.
In 2023, Lamont decided to write his first horror short film, The Weasel (2024). His work in various projects, including his upcoming Twilight film adaptation, The Invite (2024). Lamont is a multi-talented artist who has strives to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry through his dedication and hard work.
