Tracie O'Keefe
Being a member of 'The Bromley Contingent' Tracie O'Keefe was a noted early fan of the Sex Pistols. She was a sales assistant and Model for Malcolm McClaren and Vivienne Westwood's shop 'Seditionaries,' along with her friend Debbie Wilson (Juvenile), who she was often photographed with.
Alongside Debbie Juvenile and Siouxsie Sioux, she provided between-set-dancing entertainment at the Sex Pistols' 'Screen On The Green' gig. According to Poly Styrene's diary; she wrote 'Identity' about Tracie at around this time. In 1977, at the legendary Sex Pistols' Jubilee riverboat cruise gig, Tracie was arrested along with about ten other people, including McLaren and Westwood. However, the only person to receive a jail sentence, (one month), was Tracie. She was eventually acquitted, of the Jubilee charges, on appeal, in February 1978.
Tracie O'Keefe is remembered as one of punk's early characters; a muse, a fashionista and sadly; as its' first casualty.
