The winners will be feted during a pair of celebrations next month: the News Night ceremony on June 25 and the Documentary Night ceremony on June 26. Both will begin at 7 p.m. Et at the Palladium Times Square in Manhattan. This is the first year the News & Doc Emmys will be presented in June, having moved from the traditional September window. CBS’ long-running “60 Minutes” has been nominated for 13 News & Documentary Emmy Awards, which the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced on Thursday.

Of those 13 nods, one was for “The Democratic Ticket,” the episode that aired on Oct. 7, 2024, in which Bill Whitaker interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris and that Donald Trump claimed was “a giant Fake News Scam,” accusing CBS of deceitfully editing her answer about Gaza and filing a $20 billion lawsuit stating as much (CBS has maintained Trump’s claims are false).

Lester Holt’s final evening in the anchor chair on NBC Nightly News will be on May 30.

His successor, Tom Llamas, will debut the following Monday, June 2.

Holt announced in February that he would be stepping down from his role after 10 years. He will remain with the network as full-time anchor of Dateline NBC.

Llamas, who returned to the network in 2021, also will hold the title of managing editor, as Holt did. Llamas also will continue to anchor Top Story, NBC News Now’s signature nighttime show that runs from 7-8 p.m. Et.

In announcing his departure from NBC Nightly News, Holt wrote to staffers in February, “It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to work with each of you every day, keeping journalism as our true north and our viewers at the center of everything we do.”

World News Tonight with David Muir remains at the top of the ratings.

However, both were eventually cleared of suspicion. The case takes a dramatic turn when a Ring doorbell camera captures a man on a bicycle entering Christina’s home around the time of her murder. Midway through Donald Trump’s 100-day interview with ABC’s Terry Moran, the president got flustered.

What seemed like a tragic loss soon revealed a darker, more complex story as Kari’s family took matters into their own hands, investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Deborah Roberts took to social media to bid farewell to the ABC News building after nearly three decades since she joined the 20/20 news team.

ABC News is moving from its Upper West Side headquarters in New York City to Hudson Square in downtown, where The View moved last fall.

“Friday finish. Nearly 3 decades after I first set foot in the ABC news headquarters as a new correspondent, the youngest to join the 20/20 team, we are officially saying goodbye to the building,” Roberts said in a touching Instagram post. “The place where network TV legends walked the halls and delivered the news. I was thrilled and a bit nervous to join Barbara, Hugh, Peter, Carole, Joan, Charlie and a cadre of inimitable correspondents. What a moment.”

She continued, “Now, a bright, shiny space awaits us downtown to continue the great work we all love so passionately. Change and goodbyes are always hard for me.

Tom Llamas will succeed Lester Holt as anchor of NBC Nightly News.

Llamas, who has been with the network since 2021, will continue to anchor Top Story, a signature nighttime show on NBC News Now that runs from 7-8 p.m. Et, immediately after Nightly News. Llamas also will hold the title of managing editor.

The date of Llamas’ debut as anchor has yet to be determined. Holt will sign off in early summer after he announced last month he was stepping down from the news broadcast after a decade in the post. He will stay with the network in a full-time role at Dateline.

Veteran “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt announced Monday he is stepping away from the program he has hosted for the last decade at the start of the summer.

“The time has come for me to step away from my role as anchor of ‘Nightly News.’ It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to work with each of you every day, keeping journalism as our true north and our viewers at the center of everything we do,” Holt said in a memo to staffers Monday.

Holt’s exit will coincide with his 10th anniversary of being named the “Nightly News” anchor in June 2015; prior to getting the top news job at NBC, Holt hosted the weekend edition of the nightly news program for eight years and was a co-anchor on “Weekend Today” for 12 years.

Seni Tienabeso has been promoted to vice president of ABC News Live and specialized units based in New York.

Tienabeso will lead the network’s 24/7 streaming channel and oversee ABC News’ business, medical and climate units. He also will collaborate with ABC-owned stations. He will report to Almin Karamehmedovic, the president of the news division.

Karamehmedovic said that Tienabeso “is one of the most talented, hard working journalists in the industry who has a natural instinct for creative storytelling an impactful reporting.”

Tienabeso previously was executive director of ABC News Live and, before that, EP of the streaming channel’s primetime programming. That included creating the signature news program Prime with Linsey Davis.

Tienabeso started at ABC News in 2007, and also served as senior producer on World News Tonight with David Muir. He has covered several presidential elections, the 2014 Israel-Hamas war, the Boston Marathon terrorist attack, the Haiti earthquake and the Chilean miner rescue.
