Shows are filled to the brim with supernatural creatures, but do you know one thing that's often missing? Memorable ghosts.
While a few ghosts have made a name for themselves on the small screen, there simply isn't enough of them.

That's a shame especially since ghost stories are a staple during the Halloween season when you're looking for a fright!
We've brainstormed a list of TV characters who we think would make awesome ghosts and who we wouldn't mind getting a visit from in the afterlife.
Since this list is so arbitrary, comment us with characters you think would make great ghost side-kicks!
1. Joey Tribbiani - Friends Paper! Snow! A Ghost! You're always hearing about how haunting and damned ghosts are, but why do we rarely hear of funny ghosts who just run around town with you and continuously cracks jokes? Sure, people would look at you weird,...

We have one major mystery down!
While many of us probably suspected that Dylan Shakes was alive and that he had gotten away from his father's abuse, it was lovely to have that confirmation during Harlan Coben's Shelter Season 1 Episode 6.
It was also so touching to have that reunion between Dylan and Mrs. Friedman.
Mickey was a bit of a lone wolf for most of the hour, and it landed him in quite a terrifying position, with new information about Abeola and all his father has been involved in and him escaping for his life.
What happened to the buddy system, Mickey? This is getting too stressful!
With the number of mysteries that this series drops at us rapidly, it's nice to have a clear-cut answer for at least one of them and bits and pieces of things coming together for some others.

Marks the first time Japan has submitted a film by a non-Japanese director.
Japan has submitted Perfect Days by German filmmaker Wim Wenders for the best international feature film category at the 96th Academy Awards.
It represents the first time that Japan has selected a non-Japanese director in more than 70 years of submissions to the Oscars.
The Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan chose the title from eight features, which is understood to have included strong contender The Boy And The Heron, likely the last feature of iconic animation filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, whose Spirited Away won best animated feature at...

Ashley is still missing in action, and the mystery surrounding Octoface has only deepened.
Much of Harlan Coben's Shelter Season 1 Episode 5 was light on the larger mysteries and more insular, spending time delving into the characters' personal lives and headspaces.
In that sense, it was a robust character-building installment to set the pace for the remainder of the season.
If there's one thing that one can take away from this series so far, it is that the friendship among the trio is one of the show's most wholesome, endearing, feels-inducing aspects.
No matter what, can we just protect Mickey, Spoon, and Ema at all costs?
With so much going on surrounding the mystery of who is after Ashley Kent and why, the Dylan Shakes connection, and the teens still trying to go about their lives as teenagers, sometimes it's easy to forget that Mickey hasn't been able to fully...

Harlan Coben's Shelter has been firing from all cylinders since its impressive launch on Prime Video earlier this month.
On Harlan Coben's Shelter Season 1 Episode 5, the mystery intensifies, and some more secrets are revealed.
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at the episode, and it sets the tone for a thrilling hour of this new drama.
In the clip, Mickey and Spoon follow Ema and get more than they bargained for.
Ema notices they've been doing some investigating of their own and finds the pair outside her house, which is far more luxurious than they anticipated.
Irate that they're meddling, Ema is also taken aback, but not as much as Mickey and Spoon.
How will their decision to find out more about Ema help or hinder their dynamic as we enter the back half of Harlan Coben's Shelter Season 1?
We don't know, but we will be watching it all play out.

Everyone notices the eyes first, languid, those of a somnambulist. Robert Mitchum, calm and observant, is a presence that, through passivity, enamors a viewer. His face is as effulgent as moonlight. The man smolders, with that boozy, baritone voice, seductive and soporific, a cigarette perched between wispy lips below which is a chin cleft like a geological fault. He’s slithery with innuendo. There’s an effortless allure to it all, a mix of malaise and braggadocio, a cocksure machismo and a hint of fragility. He’s ever-cool, a paradox, “radiating heat without warmth,” as Richard Brody said. A poet, a prodigious lover and drinker, a bad boy; his penchant for marijuana landed him in jail, and in the photographs from his two-month stay he looks like a natural fit. He sits, wrapped in denim, legs spread wide, hair shiny and slick, holding a cup of coffee. His mouth is...

James Cordon can’t escape Kurt Russell. In the hilarious new sketch “Escape from Kurt Russell” that aired Thursday on CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Russell and Corden run into each other in an office building, where Russell engages in some friendly sparring and jabbing.

Earlier this week, CBS announced that former One Direction member — and latest addition to the Christopher Nolan Players — Harry Styles is slated for a week-long residency on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” For four consecutive nights, starting on May 15, Styles will serve as the resident musical artist.
With that “Dunkirk” appearance on the horizon and a solo music career still in its early stages, you could do worse than Styles when picking someone to hand the keys to an entire week’s worth of late night. And having been through the process of a breakneck sketch show schedule, he’ll probably be a capable comedy sidekick for Corden.
But what if this residency is a smashing success? Which other bands and artists would be ripe for tenures of their own on the other major daily late-night shows?
Jon Batiste and Stay Human hold down the fort for “The Late Show.

Spoon gave a fiery rendition of their new single "Hot Thoughts" on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday. The song is the title-track from their upcoming record, out March 17th.
The Austin group tweaked the slick disco leanings of the studio version of "Hot Thoughts" into a grittier dance-rock rager. By the end of the performance, singer Britt Daniels was wailing into the microphone and trading blown-out Nile Rodgers riffs with fellow guitarist Alex Fischel.

Efficient, distorted, fresh and messy. That's how I'd describe Spoon's "Rent I Pay,"the first song to arrive from their forthcoming album "They Want My Soul." The band has in various forms of away-time for the last four years, their longest break. Singer Britt Daniel formed the Divine Fits, drummer Jim Eno has produced some great records from !!!, Heartless Bastards and more, for instance. I've gotten the impression from talking to Daniel before that he needs a certain amount of distance from his band to get anything done. He moved out of Austin, for instance; he writes lyrics separately, which is one of the hardest part of his job description. I love the crunch and pop of 2001's "Girls Can Tell" and the tight empty spaces of 2002's "Kill the Moonlight." I don't think I or the band could explain how those albums -- released one after the other...

With some time off from the Hold Steady and his creative juices still flowing, frontman Craig Finn needed a challenge. Rather than stay home in Brooklyn, Finn traveled to Austin to work with a new set of musicians and producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead). The result is is new solo album, 'Clear Eyes, Full Heart,' which takes its title from the 'Friday Night Lights' motivational speech, "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!"
The countrified tracks on the LP are much more somber and way less frenetic than Finn's usual writing for the Hold Steady, a stylistic turn that he says reflects a part of his personality that he rarely examines in his band's songs. Spinner recently caught up with Finn before his European tour to talk about the record, the wide influence of television, getting shot and being friends with Jesus.

I was going to write an article about The Boys this week. I like The Boys. It’s violent. It’s intriguing. It’s full of rich character moments, surprising plot twists, and gritty and emotionally charged artwork. It’s also very close to finishing. So, I digress. I’ll cover it after it’s over. Spoiler alert. I love the series.
With that off my plate, what to write about? I could rant about why I think it’s a silly idea to bring back the Phoenix Force. I could rant about why I think it’s sillier to bring back Johnny Storm. I could rant about why I think it’s silly that DC rebooted its universe, and it’s already suffering from continuity errors. Nah. How about I just take a big fat crap on The War of the Independents. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

AMC Theaters have been rolling out a new theater concept that I am very excited about called AMC Dine-In Theaters.

Say what you will about Taylor Momsen and/or Jenny Humphrey, but "Make Me Wanna Die" is an awesome song, and certainly a fitting choice for last night's "The Witches of Bushwick."
The Pretty Reckless provided the soundtrack for Chuck's comeback party at the Empire, where Katie Cassidy's Juliet and Taylor Momsen's Jenny provided the pulse-pounding drama.

Spoon's rise to prominence in the indie rock world has been nothing short of workmanlike. They become a little bit bigger and pick up a new batch of fans with each album. Frontman Britt Daniel and his band of merry men churn out an album every two years or so like clockwork, and every new single, tour and appearance on talk shows make them just a little bit bigger. They have become the indie band that the rock community can rely on, and they've been rewarded with ever-growing crowds, exposure and critical acclaim. Their ascent (which recently peaked during an extremely well-received set on one of the main stages at Lollapalooza) can be traced back to the beginning of the decade, and the band took a huge step on this day in 2002 when they released their universally loved album Kill the Moonlight.

Of all the major multi-day festivals that take place in this country every year, Austin City Limits is by far the most esoteric. For starters, it's always really late in the season (most people hang up their festival spurs after Seattle's Bumbershoot wraps up around Labor Day, but the 2010 version of Austin City Limits doesn't kick off until October 8). Like its host city, its lineup is hard to pin down, usually consisting of a handful of festival regulars, a metal band or two, some friendly jammers, at least one legend and whatever else the organizers can cram onto the stages over three days.
This year is no different, as the lineup (which was announced this morning) features Muse, M.I.A., the Strokes, Phish, Vampire Weekend, LCD Soundsystem and, um, the Eagles. There's truly something for everybody, though if you're a regular guest at any of the summer festivals, you...

Also on the 130-act roster from the same folks that bring you Chicago's Lollapalooza are the Strokes, the Flaming Lips, Spoon, Vampire Weekend, Norah Jones, Band of Horses, Monsters of Folk, Sonic Youth, the National, Broken Bells, Yeasayer, Beach House and Gaslight Anthem.
The eclectic roster ranges from such Austin favorites as singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen and techno superstar Deadmau5, to gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, blues duo the Black Keys, soul revivalists the Temper Trap and freak folkie Devendra Banhart. According to organizers,...

Music fans living in Austin, Texas, sure are lucky. They get bands galore in the spring for SXSW, and then fall rolls around to bring the Austin City Limits Music Festival, seeing the return of some of SXSW’s most successful bands as well as bigger-name acts. This year is no different, as M.I.A., Spoon and LCD Soundsystem are joined by the likes of new acts Givers, Lissie and Dawes and a number of former Paste‘s Best of What’s Next acts for the October event....

Though the line-up hasn’t been confirmed, The Eagles, the Flaming Lips, M.I.A., the Strokes, Muse, Phish, LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Vampire Weekend and Norah Jones are all playing the Austin City Limits Music Festival, according to Associated Press. The ninth annual edition takes place at the Texas capital’s Zilker Park Oct. 8-10. The strong line-up won’t help ticket sales though. That’s because the festival sold out its allotment of three-day passes I 14 hours when they went on sale in April. Single day passes go on sale Tuesday, when we imagine Acl will release the rest of the 130 acts on the...

Live, from Eugene, Oregon - it's Conan O'Brien. On the very day he announced the launch of his upcoming new TV show on Fox - oops, make that TBS - the famously deposed Tonight show host kicked off his 32-city North American live comedy tour at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts before an appreciative crowd of more than 2,500 people. As described by New York's Wnbc News on Tuesday morning, The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on TV presentation found O'Brien delivering "gentle" jibes toward his onetime bosses at NBC - while other news reports noted that he never...

Less than a month ago, Neil Young took the stage of "The Tonight Show" to perform "Long May You Run" to help send off departing host Conan O'Brien. At Sunday night's (February 28) Winter Olympics closing ceremony, Young again performed "Long May You Run" on NBC, which is somewhat poetic given that Monday night (March 1) marks the return of Jay Leno as the host of "The Tonight Show." Leno's comeback has brought out the best in the late night performers, as not only is his show stacked with top-shelf guests, but David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are all back with new episodes and great lineups.
Let's start with "The Tonight Show." Monday night's show is a little weak (Jamie Foxx and Olympian Lindsey Vonn are on), but things really get going on Tuesday (March 2) with Sarah Palin, gold medalist Shaun White and Adam Lambert. Wednesday (March 3) features the cast...

The last few celebrities who will be part of "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" short history are unveiled. Guests in the last four days of the talk show before its time slot is taken back by Jay Leno and his show, include Joss Stone and Tom Hanks.
Released on Tuesday, January 19 morning are the names of A-list stars who will visit starting that night to Friday, January 22. "Inglourious Basterds" director Quentin Tarantino will talk about the recent win at Golden Globes in the January 19 episode that also invites Paul Bettany and musical guest Spoon.
On Wednesday, January 20, Adam Sandler and Joel McHale will sit for an interview while Joss Stone is set to sing. As the last day treat, Conan O'Brien goes big by having Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell.

In the strongest indication yet that Friday indeed will mark Conan O'Brien's final "Tonight Show," a list of the booked guests for the rest of this week released Tuesday featured Will Ferrell set to appear Friday.
Ferrell, of course, was the first guest on "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" when the show launched June 1. It has become somewhat of a tradition on "Tonight."
Jay Leno's first guest on the show, Billy Crystal, guested on what was supposed to be the talk show host's second-to-last "Tonight" in May. (Leno is now set to return as "Tonight" host March 1.)
The reason why Crystal didn't appear on the very last episode was that, in a demonstration of what was billed as a seamless transition, Leno's guest then was Conan O'Brien.
It is safe to say that there is zero chance O'Brien would return the favor.
Other big names scheduled for...
