Cyberpunk Edgerunners showed a dystopian world filled with crime, corruption, and an impulsive hero. The anime aired on Netflix in September 2022 and immediately tasted fame and success.
Not only did the anime succeed as an independent production, but it also brought more positive attention to Cyberpunk 2077, the original game. An interview with the show’s producer, Saya Elder, further opportunities for the series and further adaptations of the game.
Will Cyberpunk Edgerunners Receive a Sequel? Cyberpunk: Edgerunners | Studio Trigger
Saya Elder was quick to confess that nothing could be said for certain regarding a new addition to the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime. However, the producer also accepted in the interview that the team was drawn to the unique style of Studio Trigger, the animation studio behind the anime.

Every anime and video game fan was excited when Studio Trigger announced the anime adaptation of the popular 2020 action role-playing video game, Cyberpunk 2077, based on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk universe. The series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners might only have one season under its belt, but it has developed a sizable fanbase that is as big as the video game.

The main credit for the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners goes to the characters of the series, who were completely different despite the anime series and the video game being from the same universe. These characters also had more development compared to the video game, as they had their own individual personalities to make up the story.
Bartosz Sztybor, the screenwriter and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, who has also worked with the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt Red) as an animation narrative director, once revealed what obstacles forced him to...

The history of Hollywood adapting video games in movies and TV shows has been a little spotty, to say the least, but in recent years, I think the tide has been turning. With shows like The Last of Us and Fallout, video game fans have developed a little hope to see their favorite adapted into a great piece of art and while there will still be wasted efforts like Netflix’s The Witcher and Paramount+’s Halo, they are still only two shows. So, in keeping with that spirit of hope we created a list of the 10 best TV shows that were adapted from video games, they can be original stories in the world of video games but they have to be connected to the original IP.

Excluding a short respite over the holiday period, CD Projekt Red has had its hands full with rolling out unending patches for Cyberpunk 2077.
Normally, post-launch would be the period where staff finally get the chance for a breather and a pat on the back for a job well done. In this case, though, work on bringing the ambitious sci-fi RPG up to snuff has no doubt resulted in countless sleepless nights for a team dejected by the overwhelmingly negative response to what many consider to be a broken game. An unfair assessment? Perhaps, but personal experiences will inevitably vary, mostly due to the wildly different quality of V’s dystopian adventure depending on your platform of choice.
The damage has already been done either way, of course, but it seems the job to salvage Cyberpunk 2077‘s reputation isn’t the only project Cdpr is currently juggling. According to new details...

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the the biggest video game release of 2020, transporting players to a gritty sci-fi world full of bio-augmented criminals and lowlives. True to its name, the game explores some pretty deep concepts about cyberspace and what life might be like in a futuristic transhuman society where technological advancements have turned us less human and more machine. So it’s no surprise that the game’s score often sounds like something recovered from the year 2077 and brought back to our time. At its very best, the soundtrack elevates this grim dystopia.
In the wake of Cyberpunk 2077‘s massive launch, Den of Geek spoke with the trio of composers behind the game’s score: Marcin Przybylowicz (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), P.T. Adamczyk (Gwent: The Witcher Card Game), and Paul Leonard-Morgan (Dredd). The three composers discussed the soundtrack’s conception and revealed the unconventional methods they...

Cyberpunk 2077 has largely been hailed as a success by critics and fans alike for offering one of the most immersive RPG experiences of this generation, though it hasn’t escaped criticism by any means. Accusations of transphobia aside (see here for the full story on that), players of CD Projekt Red’s sprawling open world have taken particular issue with its performance, especially on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, where bugs and visual glitches aplenty are commonplace. Folks on modern gaming PCs have generally enjoyed a smoother experience, though not even superior hardware has granted the platform immunity to certain egregious problems.

Eight years.
That’s not only how long fans have spent patiently awaiting the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077, but the length of time that CD Projekt Red has spent ensuring that every last facet of its ambitious action-rpg is up to snuff.
The developer, best known for bringing Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher books to life as part of a critically acclaimed trilogy, is no doubt aiming to replicate that success with this take on Mike Pondsmith’s original tabletop game of the same name. Cybernetic implants, neon-lit night life, deeply embedded street crime and shady mega corporations – everything you’d expect of the titular subgenre is promised to be present in this epic tale and this new trailer assuredly only showcases a fraction of the world you’ll be exploring come launch day.

Cyberpunk 2077 may not be with us just yet, but it’s looking as if the ambitious sci-fi RPG is already shaping up to be CD Projekt Red’s most successful title to date.
The developer, best known for its critically acclaimed Witcher trilogy based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s award-winning books, has devoted the majority of its resources to next month’s anticipated release ever since work wrapped on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in 2015, so suffice it to say, fans of the studio are expecting (perhaps to an unrealistic degree) something rather special indeed to slide through their mailbox next week.
Speaking of which, the recently revised December launch window for consoles (current and next-gen) and PC is one that – following multiple delays – is thankfully being adhered to. Early copies finding their way into the public domain is proof enough of that, of course, though a reassurance worth reiterating,...

Among the many high-profile casualties crashing out of 2020’s initial triple-a games lineup is Cyberpunk 2077. The dystopian first-person RPG, which draws heavy inspiration from landmark films such as Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner (as well as Mike Pondsmith’s tabletop game of the same name), was confirmed last week to have slipped from its original April 16th launch window to September, dealing a heavy blow to many fans hoping to get their hands on CD Projekt Red’s first title since 2015’s The Witcher 3.
Speaking of which, it appears too, that the developer currently has no plans to revisit the Continent or, by extension, Geralt of Rivia’s monster-hunting adventures, anytime soon. As part of a recent Q&a conference call with investors following news of Cyberpunk 2077‘s delay, Senior VP of business Michal Nowakowski was asked directly whether the studio had any further unannounced titles in development.

In what was perhaps the standout moment from E3 2019, developer CD Projekt lifted the lid on Cyberpunk 2077, and with it, Keanu Reeves’ in-game character, Johnny Silverhand. Not 10 seconds had passed and then, the Powers That Be played their ace card: Keanu Reeves, in the flesh, walking onto the stage to a wall of noise. Cue the delirium.
It was undoubtedly a major coup for Cyberpunk 2077 and its creators, and somehow drove the already sky-high hype levels into the stratosphere. But now that E3 2019 has come and gone, and everyone involved in Night City is quietly preparing for that all-important launch date, questions are beginning to circulate about the possibility of a live-action movie, particularly now that a true Hollywood A-lister has come on board this most ambitious project.

If you felt a barely perceptible rumble beneath the surface of this year’s E3, there’s a good reason for it: a new generation is on the way.
Less than a month ago, comments from Sony executives about the remaining life cycle of their phenomenally successful PlayStation 4 console sparked a host of speculation that the next generation of console hardware was still far off, with many outlets speculating that a new PlayStation could be “at least three years away.”
That talk is nowhere to be seen now, as publisher Bethesda software revealed during its press conference that both its first new property as a studio in two decades, “Starfield,” and the highly anticipated sequel to 2011’s “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” are being designed for next generation hardware.

“Cyberpunk 2077” is a first-person shooter with heavy RPG elements. Let’s get that out of the way first. When CD Projekt Red revealed its follow-up to “The Witcher 3” with a January 2013 teaser trailer, fans didn’t know quite what to expect.
Nearly an hour of gameplay shown off at E3 brings the grimy, dystopian future in focus. “Cyberpunk 2077” is based off Mike Pondsmith’s 1988 pen-and-paper RPG “Cyberpunk 2020.” In CD Projekt’s take on a future filled with extreme technological body modification, you’ll play a street merc named “V.”
It’s impossible to avoid comparisons to Square Enix’s recent “Deus Ex” games and Starbreeze’s 2012 “Syndicate.” However, with full customization at your fingertips, “Cyberpunk 2077” is set up to reflect more of the player than those games. At the outset you’ll choose to play as a man or woman, define your life path, and customize everything about your look.
