- Born to legendary golden glove boxer "The General" Mills, Mills is half-African and Puerto Rican. He attended Catholic School in the Bronx and his grandmother was an integral part of raising him and his older brother, Mikey. He went back and forth between NY and London, growing up to be with his grandparents.
Mills went to Yale in CT and studied Architecture and Theater, which neither really interested him. Instead of going to summer stock or doing an internship with an architect, Mills worked on Wall Street and began to love following the market. After graduation, instead of heading west to pursue acting like his classmates, the 20-year-old graduate (yes he finished Yale at 20), went to work on Wall Street - not legal enough to drink, Mills was assisting in multi-million dollar transactions. By 22, he was the youngest VP at his company. Mills returned to London, where he had strong family ties, and he ended up in the West End, doing "Six Degrees of Separation", followed by "The Life & Times of Dumas", which garnered him a Best Actor node by the West End. After building a name in British television, Mills broke out in the Shango Bsang-directed The Quiet Storm (2004), which got him a UK Screen Awards Best Supporting nomination in 2005.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Kerr Hopkins
