Chapell's was formed in 1941 for a series of recordings of the Queen's Hall Light Orchestra conducted by Charles Williams.
In 1988 Zomba acquires Chappell from the Warner Chappell Music Group, which is integrated into the Bruton Music office.
In 1996 Zomba Production Music launched, offering Bruton, Chappell & FirstCom under one roof.
In 2002, The Zomba Music group is bought by Bertlesmann Music Group (BMG).
In 2007, BMG (including Chappell's) is bought by Universal Music Publishing.
