There was a lot of reluctance when it came to recasting T’Challa in the MCU, however, it seems that that attitude has changed a bit in the following years. From the introduction of T’Challa’s son, T’Challa II, to the multiverse being thrown wide open in the upcoming MCU films, the possibilities are endless for the character to return.

“[Chad] pulled up and [he was talking in] T’Challa’s accent, and they was freaked out,” Coogler said. “I was like, ‘Don’t be freaked out. He’s working, man. He don’t turn it off till we wrap.’ And no shame or embarrassment in that — that’s how he was moving.”

The director also recalled how working with Boseman on the 2018 Marvel film – which would go on to be the first superhero movie nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards – altered his life.

Marvel won't be shutting the gates of Wakanda anytime, either, as Avengers: Doomsday won't be the only time audiences are treated to the beloved superhero.

According to Daniel Richtman, Black Panther 3 is set to hit theaters in February 2028. Ryan Coogler is set to return as the director, while Letitia Wright is expected to reprise her role as Shuri aka Black Panther. That release window puts it ahead of Avengers: Secret Wars, which is releasing in theaters on May 7, 2027. Many have speculated that a new actor will take over the T'Challa role, but nothing has been confirmed on that front.

There is a rumor going around that Kevin Feige and Marvel are going to make a huge announcement about the MCU. It is said that this announcement is even bigger than the reveal of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Yes, they are claiming that the new announcement will make you far more excited than seeing Downey Jr. under that Doom mask at the Sdcc.

The announcement is expected to come on March 26, according to the report. While some fans have already started speculating what the big update could be, others are skeptical about the major news. The skepticism grew among fans after Disney’s chief of marketing confusingly replied to the post.

A familiar cycle is playing out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of Captain America: Brave New World. It is performing solidly at the box office and the previous Marvel Studios film, Deadpool & Wolverine, grossed over $1 billion. Yet, tepid reviews have inspired people to declare the MCU dead for a myriad of (and contradictory) reasons. Death comes in many forms but it was cancer that took away the lives of a couple of Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes. It was our Black Panther Chadwick Boseman in 2020 and then we lost Kamar de los Reyes, aka the White Tiger, from Daredevil: Born Again in 2023. Most of you know him as the charming antagonist from the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise as Raul Menendez.

Recently, Daredevil: Born Again director Michael Cuesta discussed him while having a chat with Brandon Davis on Phase Hero: A Film & TV Podcast. And it was then he told us about the experience while working with Kamar. Just like the case with Boseman, Kamar never told anyone about the disease and went on to shoot the latest Marvel TV show.

Daredevil: Born Again is only three episodes in and continues to shock fans with the loss of beloved characters. Episode 3 brings the latest heartbreaking character death, a decision heavily influenced by real-world events.

In a recent interview with Brandon Davis of Phase Hero: A Film & TV Podcast, Daredevil: Born Again director Michael Cuesta opened up about his experience working with Kamar de los Reyes, who portrayed Hector Ayala (aka the White Tiger) before tragically passing in 2023 following his battle with cancer. "We finished it way before [Kamar de los Reyes passed away]. Sana [Amanat] from Marvel is the one who alerted me. It had to be almost a year after. I mean, he was definitely not well when we were filming, and, at times, we had to shoot around it, but when I heard it was devastating," the director explained.

"But the guy worked really hard. He wanted to be — he worked through a lot of pain.

When the news first broke that Robert Downey Jr. was being eyed to reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in Captain America 3, few could have imagined it would be for an adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Civil War.

The White Tiger is one of the vigilantes in Hell’s Kitchen who protects innocent people. Hector Ayala’s storyline in the series is also a poignant tribute to actor Kamar de los Reyes, who portrayed him. Reyes passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 56 due to cancer.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan have been working together for more than 10 years now, and their latest collaboration, Sinners, is due in theaters in just over one month. According to FilmRatings.com, Sinners has officially been given an R-rating, the first time Coogler has directed an R-rated movie since Fruitvale Station (2013), the first film he ever directed in his career. But there is one iconic Phase 1 casting choice that we wish we could have seen played out further in the franchise: Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, better known as the Incredible Hulk.
