Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, is threatening legal action against Kanye West over his unauthorized sampling of a performance of “Iron Man” on his new album.
Ozzy first brought infringement to light in a social media post on Friday, saying that he refused to let West sample a live version of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” because the rapper is “an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many.”
Now, Sharon has chimed in, telling TMZ that, “Kanye fucked with the wrong Jew this time.” She said that the couple has already sent West’s team a cease and desist and will pursue further legal action if he continues to use the sample.
Sharon’s late father, music manager Don Arden, was Jewish, and she has said that she identifies as Jewish.
In a separate interview with Billboard, Sharon said, “We get so many requests for these songs,...

The Osbournes dug up a blast from the past on the latest episode of their podcast, playing and discussing Sharon Osbourne’s forgotten disco song “You Can Strike Oil in Hollywood.” The 1978 tune was recorded under the group name The Sheikettes.
The latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast features the family answering fan questions, with the first being whether they had “found Sharon’s secret disco band song yet.” An excited Jack and Kelly both exclaimed, “Yes, we have!”
Jack then quipped to Ozzy, “You are not the only singer in this family. Who knew Kelly and I came from such greatness when it comes to music?” He then played the song from his phone, revealing a cheesy tune that begins with the classic “Arabian riff” (also known as the “snake charmer song”) before settling into a disco meets doo-wop vibe.
Afterward, Sharon explained, “This is why we did it.

Sharon Osbourne revealed in her 2007 memoir, Sharon Osbourne Extreme: My Autobiography, that she and husband Ozzy Osbourne had an assisted-suicide pact, agreeing to go to the Swiss assisted dying organization Dignitas if either of them were to suffer from dementia.
It’s been over a decade since Sharon made those initial claims, and both Ozzy and Sharon have doubled-down on their pro-euthanasia stance in interviews since. On the latest episode of the The Osbournes Podcast, which features Sharon and Ozzy in discussion with their son Jack and daughter Kelly, Jack asked his mother if euthanasia was “still a plan.”
“Do you think that we’re gonna suffer?” replied Sharon, prompting a rebuttal from Jack: “Aren’t we already all suffering?”
“Yes, we all are, but I don’t want it to actually hurt, as well,” Sharon continued. “Mental suffering is enough pain without physical. So if you’ve got mental and physical,...

It wasn’t until Black Sabbath started work on their ninth album, Heaven and Hell, in 1979 that bassist Geezer Butler was able to get an objective perspective on his band’s capabilities. The group had recently split with founding vocalist Ozzy Osbourne and begun working in earnest with a new vocalist, Ronnie James Dio. But Butler soon realized he couldn’t stay committed to the band at that time. “I had loads of problems with my divorce, and I had to go back to England,” he recalls. “I told the guys,...

Sharon Osbourne recently learned that a script about her and her famous rocker husband Ozzy Osbourne was making the rounds in Hollywood.
“Somebody told me it was a script on the Black List so I looked at it and I’m like, ‘What a load of crap,’” Osbourne tells Variety, adding, “It didn’t make sense. It didn’t have a heart. It just wasn’t me.”
Besides, the “Talk” host has been developing her own biopic about her childhood and early days with Ozzy.
“I don’t want to do another rock and roll, sex, drugs and money movie about a musician,” Sharon said. “That’s not what I’m doing. There hasn’t been a movie about a woman that actually works on the management side — that’s a true story — and somebody that succeeds through the struggle and you come out the other side.”

Ray Cooper, former Virgin Records America Co-President with Ashley Newton — given credit for the worldwide success of the Spice Girls — died on Saturday, July 28, in Guildford, Surrey, England. He was 69 and had been suffering from a rare neurological condition, Progressive Primary Aphasia (Ppa), which also affected Monty Python’s Terry Jones, causing loss of speech.
Virgin Records founder Richard Branson called him “an extraordinary delightful individual and an incredible talent, Virgin Records would never have grown into the music force it became without him.”
Cooper was originally named to the post with Newton in September 1997, after the departure of Virgin President/CEO Phil Quartararo, who left to join Warner Bros. Records. The two came over from Virgin U.K., which they led to the third-largest music group in Britain.
Cooper was one of the first of a wave of U.K. execs who made their way to the U.S.

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne earned the following mention in Variety’s Music Mogul of the Year special. For more, including the cover story on Sean Combs, click here.
For a couple who claim to be winding down professionally, multihyphenate businesswoman Sharon Osbourne and singer-husband Ozzy have signed up for arguably the biggest endeavor of their careers: taking on concert-venue behemoth Aeg.
Sharon recently learned that Aeg wouldn’t book Ozzy’s farewell tour at its O2 Arena in London unless he also played its Staples Center in L.A. (Central to the power play: Aeg rival Live Nation produced Ozzy’s tour.) “There is no other 20,000-seater in London, so we want to play it,” explains Sharon, who for roughly 40 years has been the management brain behind Ozzy’s musical talents. “But some little dweeb behind a desk is going, ‘No! You have to play this building if you play that building.
