Do you smell that? It's the aroma of fresh cut roses ready to be handed out to eager suitors vying for the attention of one special lady. That's right, folks. "The Bachelorette" is back."
Season 10's main squeeze is Andi Dorfman, an assistant district attorney from Atlanta and fan fave from the infamous Juan Pablo season of "The Bachelor." Last night she met the 25 single guys looking for her love and began her (dare we say it?) "journey." (Spoilers coming!)
We must say this season began on a somber note, as one of the contestants, Eric Hill, tragically died in a paragliding accident after filming his episodes. Host Chris Harrison explained in the prologue: "Eric passed away shortly after concluding his filming on this show. In the coming weeks, you will see that Eric was a vibrant man. Every day he impressed us with his passion and his courageous spirit.

"The Bachelorette" is back, and I'm partly thrilled that Andi will be our gal in the trenches. During her season of "The Bachelor" she was always the one who seemed far too smart to have a real interest in Juan Pablo (and was clearly talking herself into it). Really, I would argue that Andi is too smart to be on this franchise at all, but I guess even lawyers like to mix it up sometimes. The reason I'm only partly thrilled is because her last interaction with Juan Pablo seemed so unnecessarily antagonistic. I realize that seemingly every woman in America loved the fact Andi called Juan Pablo on the carpet for not asking questions about her and saying "it's okay" when it clearly wasn't. It was that moment all women want to have with jerks who have dumped them. But I felt, as the dumper, Andi could have taken the high road.

Time to break out the bouquet of roses and pop some champagne - The Bachelorette is back, and if the premiere is any indication, Chris Harrison's promise of "the most dramatic season ever" may be accurate. On this season's quest to find love is Andi Dorfman, the Atlanta-based assistant district attorney who famously dumped Juan Pablo Galavis after a "nightmare" fantasy suite date (and his overuse of the phrase "It's okay") on the latest installment of The Bachelor. This time around, Dorfman, 27, is faced with 25 eligible men - and they pulled out all the stops during their first night at the mansion.

Emily Maynard has been busy since Season 8 of "The Bachelorette" ended. The reality star and mom to daughter Ricki, 7, just launched a lifestyle site and is set to release her first jewelry line, Emily Maynard for Town & Reese, this spring. We caught up with Maynard to talk about fashion splurges, beauty secrets and what to wear on a first date.
Why did you want to design jewelry?
Honestly, it was something that I never even thought was a possibility. But I wore Town & Reese jewelry a lot on “The Bachelorette.” And it's a company started by two moms here in Charlotte and they’ve done unbelievably well. So when they asked me if I wanted to do my own line, I was so excited. It’s been so much fun. It’s been a lot of work, and there's a lot more that goes into it than I ever thought.

The big news is that Torchwood will return for a fourth series! Cue the angry shouts about Ianto being killed and how you’ll never watch again. Then get over it, because it’s still made by Russell T Davies, one of the best gay writers around.
You’ve got to feel for the makers of Torchwoo as they never seem to know whether the series will return, and when it finally does it’s in a different format! The series began in October 2006 as a Doctor Who spin off broadcast on BBC 3. It returned on BBC 2 in January 2008, then moved to BBC 1 for a five night special in July 2009.
Russell T Davies
Now it has been confirmed that John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return for a ten episode fourth series, which will be co-produced by BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Worldwide and Starz Entertainment. So, a British/American...

Arena Stage presents Stick Fly, a thought-provoking comedy that explores the role of race and privilege in the African-American social aristocracy. Director of the 2004 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun, Kenny Leon returns to Arena Stage to direct this witty and insightful comedy. Stick Fly is written by playwright Lydia R. Diamond, whose plays include The Bluest Eye and The Gift Horse, among others. Stick Fly is being produced in collaboration with the Huntington Theatre Company. Stick Fly runs January 1 - February 7, 2010 at Arena Stage in Crystal City. The press opening performance is Thursday, January 7, 2010.
"I love Lydia's play, and to have Kenny direct it is a dream," said Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith. "Lydia is a great storyteller who has an uncanny ear for dialogue. She says what she thinks, feels and wants through her plays. Kenny is a renaissance man. He understands the psychology of human beings.
