A singer, songwriter, actor and television personality, Jully Black is
involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry. Black is a
sought after Canadian R&B star and has opened for the Black Eyed Peas,
50 Cent, Jay-Z and Usher. She was also featured on The Brown Sugar
Soundtrack. In 2005 she shared the stage with Patti Labelle and Aaron
Neville at the Montreal Jazz Festival.
In addition to writing and recording her own albums, Black also wrote a
song for Destiny's Child. Her songwriting credits also include work in
the films The Fighting Temptations and You Got Served. Black has been
nominated for numerous awards including four JUNO's. She won a JUNO
Award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for her album Revival in 2008
and has also won a MuchMusic Video Award.
As a reporter for etalk, Black has interviewed some of music's hottest
stars including Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Rihanna and Shakira. Her acting
credits include roles in the theatre production and TV series Da Kink
