The title of the
Pet Shop Boys song "Being Boring" (and some of the lyrics) derive from a quotation by Fitzgerald ("she refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn't boring"). She is mentioned in the song, though not by name: "someone's wife, a famous writer In the nineteen-twenties".
