Violinist Lana Trotovsek, born in Ljubljana (Slovenia), has captivated audiences with her 'true feel of live intuitive performance' (The Strad ). Lana Trotovsek was a student of Ruggiero Ricci. Since her solo debut with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev in 2012, Lana Trotovsek appeared with some of the world's finest orchestras including the London Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She is performing solo and chamber music concerts worldwide, is a member of Greenwich Trio and Trotovsek-Caniygueral duo and a professor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in London and Academy of Music in Ljubljana.
Lana Trotovsek has collaborated with actor John Malkovich on tour of his project Report on the Blind performing Bach violin concerto, and with Academy Award winning composer Tan Dun performing the violin concerto from movie "Hero" under his baton. In classical music world as a soloist she has worked with some prominent musicians including Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda, Rafael Payare, Yuri Bashmet, Maxim Rysanov, Sergey Krylov etc.
Trotovsek has performed at some of the most prestigious venues, including Wigmore Hall, Vienna's Konzerthaus, Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven and has also been featured as an artist at renowned international festivals including Rheingau, Aix en Provence, Shanghai International Arts Festival, Festival Internacional de Santander, Dubrovnik, Bad Kissingen, St Magnus International and Aldeburgh.
Lana Trotovsek is the recipient of the 2021 Preseren Fund Award of the Republic of Slovenia, which she received for her achievements in the past three years.
