Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘ older daughter James is all about Halloween dress-up, but she has a few stipulations.
In this week’s issue of People, the All I See Is You star dishes on her 2½-year-old’s current request for family costumes — and it sounds like James’ baby sister Inez, 1, might be getting the short end of the stick.
“My daughter suggested that our youngest should be Mike Wazowski, so I thought, ‘Great, we are all going to get to be different characters from Monsters, Inc.,’ ” recalls the mother of two, 30. “But then she suggested the baby be Mike...

Nebraska’s Republican Sen. Ben Sasse issued a statement in response to President Donald Trump’s latest Red Meat Dangle, proposing restrictions on the press. “Mr. President: Words spoken by the President of the United States matter. Are you tonight recanting of the oath you took on January 20th to preserve, protect, and defend the First Amendment?” On Wednesday, Trump began threatening to revoke licenses of TV stations for coverage of him that he considers critical. “It’s…...

Alright guys. So, very early this morning, September 4,2017, Paul and Christmas were seen on the Big Brother season 19 live feeds just going off about how much disdain they have for houseguest Raven Walton. They said she’s really not sweet, is fake and a bully too! Paul straight up said he literally can’t stand her! Christmas echoed the same sentiment. They must have trashed her for at least a full 30 minutes this time. At 2:59 am today, Paul told Christmas, “So, I’m gonna split from you and be attached to Raven for a few days. I legitimately don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it. I can’t stand her. I can’t stand Raven. It’s that bad. She’s not sweet. She’s fake. She calls me fat. She calls me short.” Christmas said, “She tells Josh to shut up and that he’s ugly.

It’s not uncommon for comic books to course correct and develop stories that differ from their original solicitations. In fact, I expressed concern not long ago when I thought the “Red Meat” story arc that Harley Quinn had been building to was apparently scrapped. Thankfully, it turns out the creative team just pushed it back for a few issues and fleshed things out with “Nether Regions.”
In the latest episode of DC All Access, co-host Jason Inman catches up with series writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner to discuss the anticipated storyline. Now, if you’ve been following the title in recent months, you’re fully aware that the mayor of New York has been hiring cannibals to round up homeless people in an effort to keep the streets unoccupied by destitutes. Once Harley gets a whiff of this, she goes undercover and gets herself in deep, to say the least.

If you’re a fan of the currently ongoing Harley Quinn series who also follows advance solicits, you too were probably wondering whatever became of the “Red Meat” storyline. When you’ve paid attention to the comic book industry as closely as I have for so long, you come to realize that arcs can often be scrapped for various reasons, be they editorial or the creators just don’t think they’re working as well as originally intended.
Those of you who regularly follow our reviews here at Wgtc may remember that I didn’t exactly have the highest opinion of the previous issue due to so many separate plots being juggled. It’s very possible that the content was rushed in order to meet a deadline. And don’t forget that Paul Dini will soon...

Now that we have that business with the fake Joker behind us, Harley Quinn #14 marks the beginning of a new story arc. What was originally titled “Red Meat” has since been renamed “Nether Regions,” which, quite frankly, is a better fit for this series given its proud history of double entendres. But when you take into account that only the first few pages would have aligned with the “Red Meat” theme, it’s best DC went with the switch.
As to what those first few pages encompass, they see Ms. Berkowitz employ a motley crew that are not unlike vampires to, um, take care of New York’s homeless problem. Yes, it plays into some conspiracy theories and may cause some readers to roll their eyes, but it does tie into society’s growing concern over class warfare. And although Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti are highly competent writers,...

It’s probably safe to say that the final handful of episodes of this past season of Supernatural left fans reeling and discussing what’s to come as they suffer through the summer hiatus. In many ways Season 11 felt like a spiritual sequel to Season 5, largely due to the return of characters such as Chuck/God and Lucifer. And for those wanting to revisit the season, on September 6 you can relive all 23 episodes on either Blu-Ray or DVD.
Below you will find the full press release featuring a detailed synopsis as well as a full rundown of featurettes and episodes to be included. Longtime collectors should be happy to see yet another gag reel incorporated. Whether or not Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles do “Blue Steel” remains to be seen.

The Winchester brothers assemble a motley crew of Darkness fighters with God on their side in Supernatural's latest episode...
This review contains spoilers.
11.22 We Happy Few
First of all, let me apologise for the slight mix-up in last week’s review as I misread my episode list and thought we were on the penultimate episode. But it wasn’t and now this is the penultimate episode so hooray for slightly more Supernatural!
It means we’ve got a bit more time for the Winchesters to rally the troops, but the trouble is, all of the troops have various familial relations that aren’t exactly on the best of terms. The brothers first have to get Lucifer and Chuck back on the same side and from there, it’s a case of assembling their ragtag bunch of merry men, including angels, Crowley and Rowena to band together to stop Amara.

11.21 All In The Family
Having revealed himself to Dean and Sam, Chuck finds himself with a lot of explaining to do, though his plan as far as Amara goes may not be quite what the brothers are expecting. Meanwhile, the Darkness begins to spread, taking another town out in her deathly fog, but also revealing a new Prophet of the Lord. Sam and Dean use him to track down where Amara is keeping Lucifer and set about getting him back.

This week's Supernatural takes a strong philosophical slant, and reminds us why we fell for this show in the first place...
This review contains spoilers
11.20: Don't Call Me Shurley
Metatron is still struggling with his human existence, his only companion a dog he ruefully passes his food to. He’s suddenly magicked into a bar and, to the strains of The Beach Boys, finally comes face to face with a character oft-referred to and long absent from the world, God. Meanwhile, Amara’s making her move against the human race as Sam and Dean investigate a mysterious murder-suicide that points to a soulless individual doing the deed.
In the beginning, there was a writer. That writer’s name was Chuck. Chuck wryly smiled and disappeared in a flash of light at the end of the fifth season finale, Swan Song. Ever since that moment and his...

Supernatural was all about saving lives with season 11 episode 17, "Red Meat." Just as Sam and Dean were saving two victims from werewolves, Sam was shot, but one of the victims was bit and was so desperate to save his wife, he decided to take Sam out of the picture. That, of course, led to Dean making a desperate play to save his brother's life, but it was Sam who ended up saving Dean.
Here are moves made in order to save someone's life in "Red Meat."...

The CW has offered this first look at next week’s brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled “Red Meat.” Oddly enough, it features the same narration as the trailer for the previous episode, “Safe House,” that speaks rather ominously of Amara/The Darkness.
Granted, that episode’s trailer dropped when the show was going on a month long hiatus and it is not uncommon for those of that variety to tease multiple upcoming episodes, but considering that we are being offered the same Amara tease, we can only hope there is some kind of payoff next week.
As for the content of the episode that we do know about, expect to see Sam and Dean once again go up against werewolves. While these creatures do not recur as much as vampires seem to on the show, I’m usually pleasantly surprised to see how the folks in the...

"Florence, Arizona"
Florence, Arizona is a cowboy town with a prison problem. Founded in 1866, this bastion of the Wild West is home to 8,500 civilians and 17,000 inmates spread over nine prisons. Through an unconventional lens, the documentary film "Florence, Arizona" weaves together the stories of four key residents of Florence, whose lives have all been shadowed in some way by the surrounding prison industrial complex. The result is an intricately crafted cinematic tapestry, threaded through with deep strands of Americana, humor, intimacy, and pathos, revealing as much about ourselves as it does about our modern carceral state. (Dir. by Andrea B. Scott, 2014, USA, 78 mins., Not Rated) Official Selection: Doc NYC
"Chuck Norris vs. Communism"
In the 1980s, under the Nicolae Ceaușescu regime, Romanians suffered from little access to foreign goods as well as an information blackout the Communist bureaucrats used to ensure ideological purity. But in clandestine screenings at neighbors’ homes of smuggled VHS tapes dubbed by a one-man distribution network, people got a glimpse of the Western world and a culture of muscular individuality with heroes like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone, and, of course, Chuck Norris.
In "Chuck Norris vs Communism," one sees the power of film to change individuals and whole societies. Through the stories of the hardworking female dubber (the most famous voice of Romania), the memories of everyday citizens, evocative re-creations of the time, and an enormous selection of clips from ’80s movies, first-time director Ilinca Calugareanu presents a film about the unexpected consequences of mass entertainment, leading to the conclusion that the greatest threat to Ceaușescu’s dictatorship might just have been the Vcr. (Dir. by Ilinca Calugareanu, 2014, UK/Romania/Germany, in Romanian with subtitles, 83 mins., Not Rated) Official Selection: Sundance Film Festival, Hot Docs
"Bounce"
From Brazilian favelas to dusty Congolese villages, from Neolithic Scottish isles to modern soccer pitches, "Bounce" explores the little-known origins of our favorite sports.
The film crosses time, languages and continents to discover how the ball has staked its claim on our lives and fueled our passion to compete. Equal parts science, history and cultural essay, "Bounce" removes us from the scandals and commercialism of today’s sports world to uncover the true reasons we play ball, helping us reclaim our universal connection to the games we love. (Dir. by Jerome Thelia, 2015, USA / Brazil / Congo / India / Ireland / Italy / Mexico / UK, in English with subtitles, 71 mins., Not Rated) Official Selection: SXSW
"Double Digits: The Story of a Neighborhood Movie Star"
Deep in the recesses of YouTube there is an ingenious artist who cannot be stopped. He consistently churns out 3-4 original feature-length films a year. He’s made action movies, horror movies, westerns and more. He’s not rich, he has no crew, no formal training and aside from his action figures, plays virtually every part. Welcome to the inspiring, imaginative, and often handmade world of Ultra-diy filmmaker Richard ‘R.G.’ Miller, a 50 year-old man who creates impossible blockbusters from his tiny studio apartment in Wichita, Kansas. His dream audience? More than 9 people. (Dir. by Justin Johnson, 2015, USA, 76 mins., Not Rated)
"Right Footed"
Born without arms as the result of a severe birth defect, Jessica Cox never allowed herself to believe that she couldn’t accomplish her dreams. An expert martial artist, college graduate and motivational speaker, Jessica is also the world’s only armless airplane pilot, a mentor, and an advocate for people with disability. Directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Nick Spark, "Right Footed" chronicles Jessica’s amazing story of overcoming adversity and follows her over a period of two years as she becomes a mentor for children with disabilities and their families, and a disability rights advocate working in the U.S.A. and abroad. (Dir. by Nick Spark, 2015, USA, in English with subtitles, 82 mins., Not Rated)
"Hand Gestures"
"Hand Gestures" follows the process of creating one of Velasco Vitali’s famous dog sculptures, from wax to glazed bronze, at the Battaglia Artistic Foundry in Milan. The film observes the work of a group of skilled artisans in this 100-year old foundry and reveals the ancient traditions of bronze sculpture making, unchanged since the sixth century B.C. This method is not taught in school, but is passed on in the ancient oral tradition and through apprenticeships from artisans. This documentary observes and feels the work of the Battaglia Artistic Foundry: a place where the past and present share the same gestures and where each gesture is a sculpture itself.
An artist who sculpts, who works the waxes, is treated in the same way as a craftsman who turns that wax into bronze, building and destroying other ephemeral sculptures: they have been making the same gestures for centuries, and by showing this to the camera they reveal historical “jumps” in time. Director Francesco Clerici has made a fine-tuned, carefully-observed study of a glorious thing to watch: artisans practicing their craft on film. Winner of the Fipresci award at Berlinale Forum 2015. (Dir. by Francesco Clerici, 2015, Italy, in Italian with subtitles, 77 mins., Not Rated) Official Selection: Berlin International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival
"Beaver Trilogy Part IV" (USA, dir. Brad Besser)
In 1979, Kutv in Salt Lake City acquired a new video camera. Trent Harris, a producer for the station’s offbeat show Extra, ventured out into the parking lot to test the new equipment and happened upon a young man taking pictures of the station’s news helicopter.
The kid, calling himself “Groovin’ Gary,” was the self-proclaimed Rich Little of Beaver, Utah. His infectious personality and small-town impressions of John Wayne, Sylvester Stallone, and Barry Manilow piqued Harris’s interest enough so he gave him a business card and asked that he alert him if anything newsworthy happened in his hometown. What happened next would become the foundation for "Beaver Trilogy," a unique collection of films that documented Harris’s multiple attempts at re-creating the original magic of the Beaver Kid. Director Brad Besser dives deep into the mystique of this cult classic, unraveling the mystery of Harris’s original inspiration. "Beaver Trilogy Part IV" explores the line between the quest for fame and the exploitation of those who pursue it. (Dir. by Brad Besser, 2015, USA, 84 mins., Not Rated) Official Selection: Sundance Film Festival, Hot Docs
The short films in competition are in two programs:

Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks Brooklyn Museum, NY April 23-August 23, 2015
"Words are all we have." - Samuel Beckett
"I cross out words so you will see them more." - Jean-Michel Basquiat
There are some painters who are born great (Picasso), some who attained greatness due to circumstances of their time (David), and some whose work grows in importance posthumously (Kahlo); Jean-Michel Basquiat is a rare case of a painter who managed to fall into all three of these categories.
He was a prodigious teenager who came out of the gate fast with his graffiti work, which was timely and poetic and achieved meteoric success and celebrity in the '80s. Now, 30 years on, he is an artist whose every sketch, it seems, grows in complexity and meaning through retrospective and deeper readings. Basquiat fused drawing, painting, pop culture, and music with history and poetry to produce an artistic language and...

The Good Wife, Season 6, Episode 18: “Loser Edit”
Written by Luke Schelhaas
Directed by Brooke Kennedy
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on CBS
When word came down that “Loser Edit” would be another issue-driven episode of The Good Wife – this time, gay marriage was to be the focal point – there was a collective cringe. Was this to be another “Debate” scenario? The good news is that no, The Good Wife didn’t shoot itself in the foot to that degree this week. On the other hand, “Loser Edit” feels very much of a piece with much of the so-so back half of this troubled season: where The Good Wife once exhilarated, it now mostly ticks off plot-beat boxes, however pleasurably.
There’s an array of appealing guests this week, though most of them don’t get much to do. The most prominent is the returning Lily Rabe, whose nosy reporter...

The Good Wife, Season 6, Episode 16: “Red Meat”
Written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman
Directed by Michael Zinberg
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on CBS
After sixteen episodes of build, the day has finally come, and the fictional voters of The Good Wife’s bizarro Illinois have spoken. It’s a foregone conclusion the moment that Alicia says that she’s “relieved” to be behind in the first exit polls: Alicia wins, aided by some last-minute dirty manoeuvring by Peter. While the State’s Attorney run hasn’t made for the most riveting stretch of the series by any means, its conclusion at least underlines that Alicia will no longer be able to rationalize herself as “the good guy,” and perhaps in the letting go, she can find an acceptable way forward. She’ll never be Frank Prady – a man so principled that he can’t even bring himself to work for Alicia,...

Alicia Florrick: Halo player, awkward car ride expert and…new State's Attorney. That's right. Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) was victorious. Is The Good Wife ready for another seismic shift? "Red Meat" was a delightful episode for several reasons, a primary one was Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). Yes, Queen Diane actually got a solid storyline all for herself and it was just wonderful. Plus headway with Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) swan song. "She's finally getting to vote for her favorite Florrick." Everything started with Alicia and Johnny (Steven Pasquale) in a car. Did they get it on? The tension was there and it was awkward. He popped out and Peter (Chris Noth)...

Alicia Florrick loses, then wins, then loses again in this week’s episode of The Good Wife — though only one of those outcomes pertains to her run for State’s Attorney.
Then again, the way showrunners Robert and Michelle King keep twisting the narrative in Season 6 — and playing with our protagonist’s drifting desires (i.e. “the thing is, losing is actually a relief”) — the results may, in fact, be too early to call.

London, Jan 11: Nutrients found in red meat play an important role in fertility levels and the general health of women and men planning a pregnancy, says an expert.
The intake of red meat and pork can make a difference, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Red meat is often associated with fertility in so-called 'old wives' tales' and has been traditionally encouraged in the diets of couples trying for a baby. Now we know from scientific research that the nutrients found in red meat really do have a role in normal fertility," said Carrie Ruxton from the Meat Advisory Panel.
The Meat Advisory Panel is a group of healthcare professionals who provide independent and objective information about red meat.

Actors Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz and Henry Cavill at Comic-Con
Getting into the superhuman shape required to play Greek gods and heroes was no easy feat for the men of Tarsem Singh’s upcoming Immortals. Whether single or taken, everyone has their idea of what the perfect Valentine's day should be. While some romantics prefer a lavish, over the top affair, others are drawn to an intimate, low-key evening. Zap2it caught up with a few celebs over the past month to find out what they deem a perfect V. day.
One common thread we found? Food!
"Pretty Girl Rock" singer Keri Hilson tells us her ideal Feb. 14th includes, "A lot of heartfelt conversation, honest conversation. A bottle of wine, a private chef... something very intimate."
She also tells us contrary the color theme of the day, she won't be enjoying any Merlot. "I'm a white wine girl," she says. "Riesling preferably, or a sweet Chardonnay."
Of course it stands to reason that chef Marcel Vigneron of "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen" would have some pretty fabulous meal ideas for that special day.

In December 2008, a widely disseminated photograph of President-Elect Barack Obama emerging from the Hawaii surf in a bathing suit aroused convulsions of enthusiasm across the land. Even the New York Post joined in, catcalling, “Fit for Office . . . Buff Bam Is Hawaii Hunk!” But a mere two years later—two economically desolate, war-torn, jobless years later—the national sentiment toward Obama has wilted, with open-mouthed adoration giving way to libido-crushing frustration. Far, far sexier than the president and his drooping poll numbers are the crusading challengers of the Republican Party, whose tea-swilling followers are fogging up the windows of the 2010 midterm elections. If Obama’s a shipwreck, the 12 bare-chested men of Red Meat: Vanity Fair’s Official 2010–2011 Republican Beefcake Calendar are total dreamboats. Ahoy!
