After years of hits, trials and tribulations, Cleveland's own Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have managed to retain a hardcore following in the hip-hop world. Now it appears as though one of its key players is trying to branch out. Bizzy Bone has signed on to the roster of Sumerian Records, a small Washington, D.C.-based imprint known best for hardcore and post-hardcore bands like Asking Alexandria, Veil of Maya and the Faceless. Bizzy is about to release his latest album Crossroads 2010 (a reference to his group's 1996 smash hit "Tha Crossroads") via the label, and the album is a fusion of rap and rock styles featuring a number of players from the Sumerian roster contributing music. (You can check out samples of the music at Bizzy's official MySpace page.)

In a recent interview with GQ, Jack White let it be known that he had just recorded a song with none other than Jay-z and that said song is "unbelievable-sounding."
And while we have no reason to doubt the man's word, we're still a bit wary. After all, the last time White ventured outside his comfort zone was in 2008, when he recorded "Another Way To Die" — the theme song to that year's James Bond vehicle "Quantum of Solace"
— which was one part total brilliance and three parts train wreck (though it's possible that the movie itself was the real culprit).
Also, it's not like the history of rock-n-rap collaborations is all that great anyway. Aside from a few watershed moments — like the Beastie Boys' entire career, Run-d.M.C. teaming up with Aerosmith for "Walk This Way," the soundtrack to 1993's "Judgment Night" (Biohazard and Onyx! Sonic Youth and Cypress Hill!

Every week, they'll answer a poll question that will reveal some of what we talk about behind the scenes here in the newsroom. Enjoy!
This week, details surfaced about one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the fall. No, not Jay-z's The Blueprint 3 or Lil Wayne's Rebirth. We're talking about the soundtrack to "New Moon," which will likely feature contributions from Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Muse, Kings of Leon and Death Cab for Cutie. There was also the announcement of the soundtrack to "Jennifer's Body," the new Diablo Cody-penned horror film. With that, combined with the quarter-century anniversary of one of the finest film soundtracks ever constructed (that being Prince's Purple Rain), this week's question is:...
