New Form Digital has produced a new round of shorts as part of its Incubator series initiative. The digital studio created by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Discovery Communications has released the second selection of original shorts created by both established and burgeoning digital talent.
Creators such as Wong Fu Productions and Jack & Dean head up the second round of Incubator shorts, which also boasts stories from lesser-known talent ready to prove their worth. Nine shorts (all of them from New Form’s original second round Incubator announcement) are now available for viewing on New Form’s YouTube channel: 10:31, The Dreams of Emma Bloom, Ghost Fighting Corporation, Occupy Alice, The Imp of the Perverse, Cold, Dr. Havoc’s Diary, Grrl Scouts, and Single by 30.
In addition to these nine shorts, two of the productions originally ordered by New Form have already been picked up for complete series orders. Maker Studios...

The Winchesters pay homage to the murder mystery genre in this week's comedic episode. Here's Becky's review...
This review contains spoilers.
10.6 Ask Jeeves
Given how strong the 200th episode, Fan Fiction, was, I was a little worried that what followed it might be a dip in quality, particularly if we were swiftly dropped back into Winchester angst immediately. Instead, Ask Jeeves opts for the comedic approach and it makes for a great follow-up as the boys find themselves in a real-life version of Clue (Cluedo for us UK residents). Bobby’s old phone receives a message from the estate of Bunny Lacroix, a wealthy lady with one of those big houses adorned with a Beethoven doorbell. Cases are lacking so Sam and Dean head across to New Canaan, Connecticut where they swiftly become embroiled in family squabbles and the odd murder or two. Or four.

"Supernatural" fans were over the moon when news of The CW's long-running drama earned an early renewal. And Jensen Ackles -- who plays Dean Winchester -- felt the same way when he heard the news that he was getting a Season 10.
"As you know, this is the tenth time we've gotten that phone call. I will say, it never gets old," Ackles tells Zap2it with a laugh. "It's always a very sweet phone call to get. We're excited."
Ackles is looking forward to seeing where the series will go in the future based on Season 9's success so far. "After looking at what the reaction has been this season, we've seen some of the highest ratings that we've ever had, I think people are really starting to respond, or they're responding more," Ackles says. "It's nice that after nine seasons, instead of sizzling out, it actually seems to be building up speed.

Supernatural Episode 821
“The Great Escapist”
Written By: Ben Edlund
Directed By: Robert Duncan McNeill
Original Airdate: 1 May 2013
In This Episode...
Crowley has enlisted in a couple of young men to pose as Fake Sam and Fake Dean, to earn Kevin’s trust and find out what is going on with the tablets. It’s not clear how these guys do the glamour (I guess Crowley did it...?) and why they can’t be harmed by holy water yet can be trapped in a demon trap, but whatever. Kevin figures this out fairly early on in the episode, but doesn’t let on until he lures the fake Winchesters into a trap towards the episode’s end.
The real Winchesters get an email from Kevin. Essentially it is a video with a dead man’s switch. If Kevin doesn’t log in once a week it sends off this video, in...

"Supernatural" got off to a bit of a controversial start this season, and things are only going to grow more intense (and just plain tense) as we approach the holiday season. With Sam and Dean at odds over Sam's desire for a "normal" life, Castiel's whereabouts unknown, and Kevin Tran on the lam from the Winchesters, there's a lot of road to cover. Here are six things you can expect from the upcoming episodes.
1. Sam meets Benny. Dean's vampire friend Benny gets himself into some trouble and has to call Dean for help -- and Dean immediately takes off to come to his assistance. Unfortunately, he only drags Dean into the mess with him, and they end up needing a bail-out from Sam. We're guessing Sam's going to be pretty surprised to find out who Dean was palling around with in Limbo.
2. Garth! D.J. Qualls will return in the Nov.

I think there are two ways you can choose to look at next week's episode of Supernatural. Since we know it's going to be told primarily through the medium of "found footage" - and with a heavy focus on the guest stars - you can either: (1) be unhappy about it because you're sick of that type of storytelling and/or you're not interested in episodes that don't predominantly feature the Winchesters, or (2) enjoy it as a unique and different episode. Sure, maybe it's not the Supernatural we're used to, but if the episode is done well (and it looks like it might be based on the preview), then there's certainly no harm in enjoying a solid hour of television, especially one that seems to resurrect the horror roots of the show.

“Heartache”
Written By: Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming
Directed By: Jensen Ackles
Original Airdate: 17 October 2012
In This Episode...
Dean has a new case: every six months, people are showing up with their hearts ripped out of their chests. Not surgically removed, but Kali Ma’d from the chest. The boys interview a man in Minnesota named Paul, who was jogging on the same path as the most recent victim, but he seems to have no idea what happened (of course, he was the one who did it.) The interview another man, Arthur, who was a witness in another murder in Iowa; he was crazy and talking in tongues.
Sam and Dean realize that both witnesses were recipients of donor organs. Even more, they both received organs from the same man: a former pro football player named Brick Holmes who died in a car accident. With the help of an anthropology professor,...

The Winchesters are getting a backseat driver in the upcoming October 10 episode of Supernatural. After tracking down Kevin Tran in the season premiere (watch a sneak peek) and joining with him to find another tablet that could help them close the Gates of Hell forever, Sam and Dean head off to do Kevin a favor. The prophet asks the brothers to check in on his mother to make sure she's safe. They head off, but discover that Crowley has her house surrounded, hoping that he can get to Kevin and his knowledge through Mrs. Tran. The Winchesters pull off a rescue act and head out with Mrs. Tran, deciding to take her along as they search for the tablet. But they'll soon come to realize that a "Tiger Mom" isn't just the stuff of myths.

Supernatural Promo: Facing Your Childhood Fears in Episode 7.14
This week's episode of Supernatural was a doozy. The boys decided to investigate the murder of a string of men whose hands and feet were all cut off. Dean seemed rather disinterested in the case initially and decided to head to the local bar instead. While there, he had a one-night stand with a girl named Lydia. Unfortunately, Lydia turned out to be an Amazon, who sleep with men to get pregnant, give birth quickly, send their daughters off to be taught in their ways and then these same daughters go on to kill their own fathers. Sam and Dean quickly realized that Dean might be the next victim, but it turns out that his daughter, Emma, actually wanted to reject the traditions of the Amazon and went to him for help.
Only that was all a ruse to get Dean to trust her.

While Sam and Dean are camping out at Bobby’s house (sans Bobby), Balthazar shows up to announce some unfortunate news: Raphael is trying to find the weapons Balthazar had taken from Heaven and has sent an angelic hit man - Virgil - after all of Castiel’s allies, including Balthazar and the Winchesters. To protect the brothers, Balthazar sets up a spell and sends them hurtling into another dimension just as Virgil arrives to kill them all.
Let me break down this other dimension for you. Sam and Dean take the place of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, two actors who happen to star on a show called Supernatural. While Jared and Jensen are friends in real life, the Au J & J in the episode are pretentious actors who don’t speak to each other. As the brothers work their way through the set,...

Toronto -- Director Michael Dowse and lead actors Paul Spence and Dave Lawrence have re-teamed to shoot "Fubar 2," the sequel to their 2002 Sundance hit about two beer-addled headbangers.
The second outing for Spence and Lawrence sees their clueless characters Terry and Dean head to northern Canada to drink and play as they work on the oil pipelines.
Edmonton stands in for both Calgary and Fort McMurray in the five-week shoot led by Alberta-based producers Shirley Vercruysse and George Baptist and Quebec-based Jennifer Wilson.
Andrew Sparacino and Terra Hazelton fill out the cast for the sequel, which Alliance Films will release locally in fall 2010.
"Fubar 2" is financed by Telefilm Canada, the federal government's film financier, industry subsidies and broadcast licenses and provincial and federal tax credits.
