Director/DP with 35 years of international award winning experience in the film and television industry.
Specialising in drama, Dean received his professional training in film
& video, from the National Nine Television Network of Australia.
In 1990 he won admission into the Maine International Film & Television
School in the USA and in 1994 Dean was awarded the right to use the
letters ACS after his name. This honour was bestowed upon him by his
mentors in the Australian Cinematographers Society in recognition of
his work.
The films Dean has worked on have won more than 60 international
awards from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Adelaide and Sydney film
festivals and competitions.
Dean has close relationships and affiliate offices in Beijing, Heng Dian, Shanghai and Chengdu
making shooting in China very smooth as well as a strong network of
'quality' contacts around Asia.
Member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS).
Obtained filming permission from Peninsula Hotel, for Batman The Dark Knight, to shoot on their rooftop heli-pad and introduced the people who supplied the C-130 air transport plane that flew down Hong Kong harbour.
In 1994 Awarded the right to use the letters ACS after his name in recognition of
his level of quality by his mentors in the Australian Cinematographers Society.
