Tonia Krueger

Antonia Sophia Krueger was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up in
northeastern Missouri (Kirksville). She was a valedictorian and
National Merit Scholarship recipient with the intention of becoming a
geneticist, but when taking her first acting class as an undergraduate
she gave up these plans to pursue a career in theatre. Tonia has
appeared on stage at theatres in Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Utah,
Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Toronto and New York City. Favorite roles
include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Actors' Theatre of
Columbus), Harper in Angels In America: Millennium Approaches (The Ohio
State University Theatre Department, Directed by Woodie King, Jr.), and
Alexa Vere De Vere in As Bees In Honey Drown (Reality Theatre, Voted
Best Actress Season 1999-2000, by Dennis Thompson of the Central Ohio
Drama Critics Circle). Tonia has obtained three degrees in theatre with
emphases in performance (PhD: The Ohio State University, University
Fellowship, Presidential Fellowship, dissertation "Jessica Tandy: A
20th Century Acting Career"; MA: Indiana State University, Thesis
Project "La Pucelle: A Solo Performance" - also produced as a
multi-cast play by the Expanded Arts Theatre Company in New York City
in 1999; BA: Truman State University, specializations Acting and
Playwriting). In the music community Tonia has stage directed and/or
performed in theatre fusion pieces with the Columbus Symphony
Orchestra, the Ohio State University School of Music, and the Ohio
Wesleyan University Music Department. Mrs. Stevens Hears The Mermaids
Singing (2005) is her feature film debut. Her second feature film is
Hiding Victoria (in production in 2005).
