Ted Lasso is one of the most beloved shows of the last decade. When a show is on the air as long as Criminal Minds has been, it gives you a lot of bad guys of the week. Some are more memorable, like Season 4s Mason (Garret Dillahunt) and Lucas (Paul Rae) Turner or Season 8s John Curtis (or The Replicator), played in two episodes by the great Mark Hamill. But others tend to fall to the wayside, which is unfortunate because some of those tossed aside are the worst of the worst. They may not be flashy. They may not have a huge body count. Theyre definitely monsters, though. And wouldnt you know it? The most terrifying killer in the series is one of those often forgotten ones: Season 3s Stanley Howard (Michael OKeefe).

Freya Tingley in ‘The Sonata.’

Freya Tingley will play the lead in first-time Us director Ali Presley Paras’ mystery-thriller Year of the Detectives, which starts shooting in Los Angeles this month.

The Aussie actor describes her character Nic O’Connell, a recently discharged Army veteran, as “like a grenade with the pin pulled: she’s tomboyish, tough and not afraid of a fight.”

O’Connell jointly inherits her grandfather’s private detective agency in the heart of Chinatown. She must set aside her differences with her co-inheritor (True Grit’s Paul Rae) to solve the mystery of her grandparents’ deaths as bodies pile up.

Chris Johnson wrote the script and the producer is Silversmith Pictures’ Joe Smith. A longtime assistant cameraman, Paras has directed several shorts including Quad, which is available on Hulu as part of the Fun Size Horror anthology.

Exclusive: Freya Tingley (Hemlock Grove) and Paul Rae (True Grit) will star in U.S. indie thriller Year Of The Detectives, which goes into production this month in La.

Tingley will play Nic O’Connell who dually inherits her grandfathers’ long-running private detective agency in the heart of Chinatown. She and her co-inheritor must put aside their differences to solve the final mystery of their grandparents’ deaths. Rae plays the detective who reluctantly joins their effort as the bodies pile up. Dralla Aierken and Jim Meskimen also star.

The low-budget pic is the first for producer Joe Smith of Silversmith Pictures and debut for director Ali Presley Paras whose shorts have included Quad, also produced by Smith, which is available on Hulu as part of the Fun Size Horror anthology. Script is from Chris Johnson.

Yep, it doesn't matter if you buy the Blu-ray, the DVD, or whatever. The only way you're going to see this film in its unedited form is via digital download. This first was brought to our attention by DC reader Chris E, who pointed us to the official Texas Chainsaw 3D Facebook page, where the following message was printed... "The torture is waiting... The two stars that "Texas Chainsaw 3D" gets is because everything is relative. Given the genre, the look and feel of the film, it deserves this and nothing less.

Love it or hate it, Texas Chainsaw 3D made an impact on genre fans. That being said, the one thing nearly everyone can agree upon is the fact that for a majority of the movie Leatherface's mask is easily the worst of the franchise. Get ready for a peek at what could have been.

Texas Chainsaw 3D is a strange animal. Everything about the flick is wonky and weird, and we guess in some way that's kind of appropriate. In any event don't get too revved up about a sequel yet, kids, as there's more to the saw. No idea what that "more to the saw" means, but it sounded cool.

Yesterday Deadline announced that Texas Chainsaw 4 was on the way, which is befuddling in and of itself as there are several sequels, one remake, and one prequel already; however Texas Chainsaw 3D was said to be a direct sequel to the original, really making it Texas Chainsaw 2 so a sequel to that would have been Texas Chainsaw 3 and not Texas Chainsaw 4, but we must remember that this new series is also home to a 40-year-old character portrayed by a 26-year-old hottie. In an announcement that surprised no one given Texas Chainsaw 3D's number one spot at the box office last weekend, Millennium Films is moving ahead with Texas Chainsaw 4, and production will begin later this year in Louisiana.

Per Deadline, the next installment will be spearheaded by producer Carl Mazzocone, executive producers Mark Burg, Avi Lerner, Tobe Hooper, Trevor Short, John Thompson, Danny Dimbort, Lati Grobman, and Christa Campbell. Considering TC3D took in a surprisingly high $21.7 million gross and a per screen average of $8,193 on 2,654 screens, Millennium is smart to strike while the iron is hot.

“Lati and Christa brought the idea of this franchise to us. They were certain of the audience appeal so we signed on,” Millennium Films Chairman Avi Lerner said, “and it turns out they were right. It was a bloody good decision. Lionsgate agreed to distribute the film in the Us and did a fantastic job.

The only thing I can say about Daryn Tufts‘ upcoming horror thriller (simply titled) Inside is – this looks awesome! And I definitely recommend you to check out the first trailer and poster for the movie which stars Luke Goss in the leading role. Things are looking really good for Leatherface and the Sawyer clan! While we're waiting for the official box office tally to come in, news has hit the net that if this one is successful, the producers behind Texas Chainsaw 3D have acquired the rights to make up to 7 films, including this one!

According to Bloody Disgusting this Leatherface adventure is the beginning of an entire new franchise at Lionsgate, and as always, the success of each film dictates what comes next.

Entertainment Weekly reports that if Texas Chainsaw 3D turns out to be a hit, a sequel could be in production as early as this summer. Producers have signed all the actors who survive the first movie for subsequent installations.

Not sure why this makes us so happy, given the fact that the movie is blissfully bad and inept, but dammit, it does! Texas Chainsaw 3D cut down the box office competition on its opening day, beating Django Unchained, The Hobbit, and Les Miserables by raking in $10.2 million on Friday!

As we head into the beginning of January, we prepare for a rather drastic shift in new releases from awards contenders to genre fare. The critically reviled The Devil Inside kicked off 2012, and first out of the gate in 2013 is another horror film, Texas Chainsaw 3D. A few new images from the film have landed online, giving us a couple of new looks at ol’ Leatherface. The pic is a direct sequel to the 1974 original and picks up where that film left off: a young woman has escaped the horrors of the Sawyer family and alerted authorities. For the second installment in our Texas Chainsaw 3D interview series, Dread Central briefly chatted with one of the film's co-stars and newcomer to the genre world, Scott Eastwood.

An up-and-coming actor who recently appeared in Trouble with the Curve (starring his father, Clint Eastwood) and Chasing Mavericks, Eastwood plays a small-town deputy named Carl who has designs on the new girl in town, Heather Miller (Alexandra Daddario), who has just inherited a mansion and a mysterious house guest in his jurisdiction.

This Friday, January 4th, Lionsgate is unleashing the Texas Chainsaw 3D in theaters everywhere, and to get you fiends ready, we're bringing you an entire series of exclusive interviews with the cast and director John Luessenhop all week long.

First up in our series is co-star Tania Raymonde ("Lost," "Death Valley"), who plays Nikki, the best friend of Heather Miller (Alexandra Daddario), who inherits much more than a mansion after her long-lost Aunt Verna passes away. As we discuss with Raymonde, Nikki is the 'resident slut' in TC3D but isn't a total lost cause either- the actress explains why as well as discusses the challenges she faced during one hellacious stunt in particular and talks about the pressure of living up to horror fans' expectations, too.

In just a short time, Lionsgate has brought online even more Texas Chainsaw goods. This time a couple of new images for the upcoming horror sequel have surfaced.

One of the leaked images give us a look at the one-hundred-and-twenty-four year old Grandpa, played by John Dugan from Tobe Hooper’s original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Let’s also take another look at Bill Moseley as Drayton Sawyer in this new Texas Chainsaw 3D pic as well as the lovely star of Hall Pass, Alexandria Daddario as a young woman named Heather Miller.

We saw earlier the photo which features Gunnar Hansen, the man behind Leatherface in Hooper’s 1974 horror classic, holding a gun.

The upcoming horror thriller also stars Dan Yeager, Bill Moseley, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle.
