To say the Terminator timeline is pretty confusing at this point would be an understatement. The franchise, created with the release of James Cameron's seminal 1984 effort "The Terminator," has since been softly rebooted, retconned, and generally mishandled by successive generations of studios and filmmakers. So twisted is the saga's internal timeline that watching the "Terminator" movies in any kind of coherent order has become a challenge not unlike trying to destroy the T-800 himself.
Prior to the release of 2019's "Terminator: Dark Fate," things seemed to be looking up. With the help of James Cameron on producing duties, director Tim Miller decided to forget the three lackluster films that followed the modern classic that is 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" and simply pick up where that stellar entry in the franchise left off. Unfortunately, when "Dark Fate" debuted we were treated to yet another generic action blockbuster that put...

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is one of the best Arnold Schwarzenegger movies of all time. The science-fiction tale has over the years become a cult classic, drawing a new generation of audience every year. Starring as T-800, it was also this role that helped Schwarzenegger climb the mountain of fame and acclaim and become a Hollywood star.

Linda Hamilton has been one of the trailblazers who changed the industry’s stereotypical portrayal of women in film. Actresses like Sigourney Weaver and Hamilton showed that women can be total badasses and can hold themselves against danger. Hamilton’s role as Sarah Connor in The Terminator series has been the most popular role of her career.

However, that tough and incredible role became a detriment to her career as she got typecast in similar roles and was not getting diverse projects. The actress recently revealed that she was tired of being tough on camera, and landing a meaningful part in Stranger Things prevented her from taking a retirement from acting.

Linda Hamilton is in a late-career renaissance right now thanks to Syfy‘s “Resident Alien” and an upcoming role in the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.” But will she ever return to her most famous role, that of Sarah Connor in the “Terminator” franchise? Linda Hamilton will be making an appearance in the upcoming Stranger Things, which poetically takes place in the era when she catapulted to fame thanks to The Terminator. Her defining performance as Sarah Connor sealed her in pop culture as one of the best sci-fi characters of all time. However, even though she would make a return to the series with the sequel Terminator: Dark Fate, Hamilton has definitively stated that she is no longer interested in reprising her iconic character.
The Beauty and the Beast TV show star recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about her projects. It was inevitably asked if she would come back for another round with the cybernetic organism when they inquired what was more likely: an AI-written Terminator sequel or her reprising the role of Sarah Connor. Hamilton answered, “AI writing the next Terminator movie. And they kill me off before we start.

James Cameron’s 1984 sci-fi thriller Terminator introduced the world to the dominance of AI, as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cybernetic assassin T-1000 went on a mission to hunt down Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor. The movie later became one of his greatest hits during his initial years. Establishing the director as one of Hollywood’s most celebrated voices, Terminator earned a $78.3M gross against its estimated $6.4M budget.

It’s been nearly five years since the release of Tim Miller’s Terminator: Dark Fate, where Linda Hamilton last reprised her role as Sarah Connor. Therefore, in an attempt to keep the franchise alive, James Cameron recently informed audiences that he’s working on a reboot, in May 2023. However, despite ongoing preparation, Hamilton seems to have lost her interest in returning to the franchise.

Terminator is an important film when it comes to science fiction in Hollywood. Sarah Connor, through the Terminator franchise, has become one of the most recognizable female science fiction protagonists, only superseded by Ripley from Aliens. A recent theory has come to light, pointing out that Sarah Connor might have lied to her son about who his father was, which was originally ‘revealed’ to be his best friend from the future, Kyle Reese.

Kyle Reese goes back in time to protect Sarah Connor, whose future son leads the rebellion against the machines and is almost successful in overthrowing Skynet and its mechanical monsters. Sarah tells John that his father is Kyle Reese, but the theory states this must be a lie told by Sarah to motivate John to become the hero of humanity that he is supposed to be.

After their success with RoboCop: Rogue City, Nacon has pulled back the curtain on their previously-announced survival game set in the Terminator universe. Called Terminator: Survivors, the game will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on October 24, with full launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC at a later date.
Hearkening back to that tense moment in the original film where Sarah Connor is relentlessly pursued by the T-800, Terminator: Survivors casts you and your friends as a group of survivors in an open world set in the aftermath of Judgment Day. You are tasked with scouring the surrounding land for materials, information, other survivors and key resources in order to establish a base of operations for your fledgling group.
But obviously, Skynet is out for cleanup with its T-800s, with the goal to exterminate humanity. As Kyle Reese said, they will not stop until you are dead.

The Terminator franchise has spent the last thirty years chasing the high of the first two movies, and Linda Hamilton thinks it’s time to finally let it die.
Linda Hamilton starred in The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day as Sarah Connor and later returned for Terminator: Dark Fate, but she is not interested in reprising the role for any further potential reboots. “I’m done. Hamilton added: “Why anybody would relaunch it is a mystery to me. But I know our Hollywood world is built on relaunches right now.“

Linda Hamilton has played Sarah Connor since 1984’s The Terminator but won’t be returning for another film. More on her comments below.
We’ve known for a while now that James Cameron is keen on writing another Terminator film. Last May, Cameron appeared at a Dell Technologies conference and revealed he is indeed working on a new Terminator script, but has paused work on it while he observed how real-world AI develops.
A new Terminator film would be exciting (potentially), but it would have to happen without Linda Hamilton.
The star, who has played Sarah Connor, the mother of John Connor, in three feature films, recently told Business Insider that she has no plans to return to the role that made her name almost 40 years ago.
“I’m done,” Hamilton said. “I’m done. I have nothing more to say. The story’s been told, and it’s been done to death.

While annual attendees warning newcomers to strap in for a long night ahead is a tradition at the Directors Guild of America Awards, the 2024 show seemed to move pretty steadily without a hitch.

Plot: In a dark corner of the universe controlled by a Fascist regime called The Motherworld, a former soldier named Kora (Sofia Boutella) tries to escape her past by living as a simple farmer on a peaceful moon called The Veldt. Review: Take Star Wars, a liberal amount of Seven Samurai, The Magnificent Seven, and Battle Beyond the Stars, and mix it in with a heavy helping of Heavy Metal (both the magazine and the film), and you end up with Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon. While a bit overstuffed (Snyder maybe made it a little too lean at just over two hours), it’s nonetheless a deliriously entertaining sci-fi epic that one could easily call the Best Star Wars Movie Never Made.

This post contains spoilers for episode one of "Reacher" season 2.
After a long wait, Alan Ritchson's Reacher is finally back for more punching-bad-guys-really-hard in the face action. This time, there's one particular bad guy who is surely heading for one of the most epic "Reacher" beatings yet.
Prior to the second season's debut, it was announced that Robert Patrick had replaced Rory Cochrane in the role of Shane Langston, a former NYPD detective who now heads up security for a private defense contractor. While Langston doesn't appear in "Bad Luck and Trouble," the book on which "Reacher" season 2 is based, he seems to be a version of the character Allen Lamaison, an ex-LAPD officer who, in the novel, became the director of the defense contractor New Age. One of my moments of dread is the threat of random violence. The moment in the original Terminator when the machine shows up at people’s homes, knocks on their door and asks if they are Sarah Connor then promptly shoots them when they answer yes is still chilling. Drawing inspiration for me from the classically brutal Martyrs (2008) and the odd cheapy eye transplant film Mansion Of The Doomed (1976) is this lovely gripping Italian horror thriller The Goldsmith (aka L’orafo) (2022)
The film opens on a chase scene in broad daylight over urban dirt fields, three children who turn out to be younger versions of the people in the film are fleeing from an older man. Arianna (Valentina Carbone), Stefano (Matthias Cavallo) and Roberto (Federico Graziani). During the chase, the girl drops a gold cross. The old man catches up to them and reaches down for the cross. The male children charge to stop him.

Intro: There’s one line that will forever go down in movie history as one of the most iconic moments of dialogue ever, and it was almost never to be. While filming the 1984 sci-fi / action / horror classic The Terminator, director James Cameron had initially written the line for Arnold Schwarzenegger as “I’ll come back”. However, as seen in the recent Netflix documentary series on the Austrian Oak, Arnie and Cameron had a heated clash over the line. Schwarzenegger hadn’t said the line correctly so Cameron suggested he just say the now iconic “I’ll be back” instead, leading Arnie to questioning the director’s writing, and getting a suitably pissed-off response in return.
This is just one example of how The Terminator not only became one of the most beloved movie franchises in Hollywood history, well, it is if you stop at part two that is, but that’s a story for later.

We Terminator fans haven't had an easy time. I first saw "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" when I was about 10 and my dad let me stay up to watch it. Did I pretend not to be absolutely terrified by the image of the exoskeleton peeking through Arnie's torn facial flesh? Maybe. But ever since being gently traumatized by "T2," I have been in love with the franchise.
Depending on who you ask, everything after "T2" has formed a nebulous cloud of mediocrity, where flashes of scenes you may or may not remember sometimes rise to the surface only to recede into the miasma once again, leaving you questioning whether they ever existed. Did Arnie really wear star-shaped shades in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines?" Did they really make The Terminator into a suburban Texas dad who ran a curtain business in "Terminator: Dark Fate?" Much like Sarah Connor in "Judgment Day,...

While it's known as a sci-fi action classic, any fan of "The Terminator" knows it's basically a slasher movie with a terrifying killer robot at its center. James Cameron's 1984 breakout has been made even more terrifying by the recent advances in AI and Cameron's belief that the events in "The Terminator" could happen in real life — though that's still not quite as horrifying as whatever AI-written garbage Joe Russo helps usher into existence in the near future.
Anyway, the point is that "The Terminator," aside from being a touchstone of the sci-fi action genre, is also pretty darn scary. Arnold Schwarzenegger's cyborg killer is best described by Michael Biehn's Kyle Reese in the film when he says, "It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop ... ever, until you are dead,...

James Cameron‘s breakthrough movie, The Terminator, is a trailblazing masterpiece in the sci-fi genre. Released in 1984, the film centers on a relentless cyborg assassin known as the Terminator, which is sent back in time to eliminate the mother of the future resistance leader, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Written and directed by Cameron, the movie combines groundbreaking special effects, a unique plot, and an unforgettable performance by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who portrayed the Terminator. With its thrilling action sequences, iconic one-liners, and intense cat-and-mouse chase, The Terminator not only became a box office success but also propelled both Cameron and Schwarzenegger...

James Cameron has confirmed that he’s writing the script for the next Terminator film. Despite Terminator: Dark Fate bombing at the box office in 2019, it’s not surprising that executives are still trying to give the franchise another go. When the first film came out in 1984, it created one of the greatest female protagonists in the genre: Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Terminator 2: Judgment Day only strengthens her character as a whole. Sarah Connor wasn’t portrayed as an ultimate warrior who spits out one-liners. She was battling some serious personal issues while trying to protect her son the best...

The Terminator is becoming an anime series for Netflix, it’s been revealed. More details this way.
Things have been quiet around The Terminator ever since the commercial failure of Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019, although the film was more warmly received by fans than other recent entries in the franchise. That said, the bar was not set too high by its immediate predecessor.
Netflix has now jumped in, anyway, and revealed details of an anime series called, appropriately enough, Terminator: The Anime Series.
The synopsis reads as follows:
2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity. Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee...

The "Halloween" franchise has been through it. John Carpenter's masterful 1978 original essentially launched the slasher craze, but the filmmaker had little creative interest in mapping out a horror franchise. He wanted to use his 1980s box office clout to make increasingly ambitious movies in all manner of fantastic genres. Still, there was simply too much money to be made off his low-budget triumph, so he reluctantly participated in its exploitation as a producer and, for a couple of films at least, story generator.
And when audiences rejected his (brilliant) non-Michael Myers installment, "Halloween III: Season of the Witch," he checked out entirely, allowing the producers to mine the white-masked fiend for a series of quick-and-progressively-silly cash-ins.

In the "Futurama" movie "Bender's Big Score," a visit to a nude beach planet revealed that Philip Fry (Billy West) had a tattoo on his butt -- a tattoo of his robot friend Bender smoking a cigar -- that he didn't know had been placed there. A closer examination of the butt tattoo revealed a miniature binary code embedded in one of the portrait's eyes. It seemed that this was a thought-to-be-mythic time-travel code that, when read aloud, manifested a portal to the past. The Professor (West) noted that time travel was dangerous as it couldn't be achieved without creating universe-threatening paradoxes.
Unluckily, Bender himself (John Dimaggio) had been infected with a computer virus, placing him in the control of a trio of nudist internet scam aliens. The aliens ordered Bender to go back in time to steal Earth's artifacts. Bender, being a robot, could wait in a basement for...

When Linda Hamilton was cast as Sarah Connor in The Terminator, she had no idea how the character would evolve, especially since Connor was more of a stereotypical damsel in distress for the first film. But in the second, the character toughened up in a big way, playing the big screen’s best female badass since Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley in Aliens. When Terminator 2 premiered, we spoke to Hamilton, who explained the changes that had taken place in her character since the first film and told us she was much more fun to play in T2. (Lick on the media bar below to hear Linda Hamilton) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Linmda_Hamilton_Terminator_2_.mp3 Terminator 2 is currently streaming on Paramount+ and available on DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K, and most digital platforms.

The Mean One, along with Mad Heidi and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was part of an unexpected crop of horror and exploitation films based on children’s tales that dropped last Christmas. Since Dr. Suess’ Grinch is still under copyright the makers of this film had to change a few names to bring us the tale of Cindy You-Know-Who and the residents of Newville’s battle against the evil green creature known as The Mean One.
Our story begins with a familiar flashback accompanied by the rhyming narration of Christopher Sanders but, in a twist, just as young Cindy (Saphina Chanadet; Balance of the Force) is about to change The Mean One’s attitude her mother appears and attacks him, getting herself killed in the process.

Just about every movie leaves scenes on the cutting room floor, and The Terminator was no exception. However, one deleted scene from the James Cameron movie has always left Terminator fans wondering why it was dropped, and franchise producer Gale Anne Hurd has now explained the reason why.
The Terminator deleted scene took place at the end of the movie and featured a pair of scientists recovering pieces from the destroyed T-800. It’s revealed that they’re from Cyberdyne, the very company that would go on to develop Skynet. Given that this scene helped complete the time loop, some fans believed that it should have been left in, but Gale Anne Hurd explained that James Cameron axed it because of the non-professional actors he was forced to use.

Say what you want about celebrity worship, but actors loom large in the popular imagination. Millions of people around the world suspend their disbelief to follow a story and invest in its characters, and some of this investment may go toward the actors themselves. Many of us like, respect, or find some common ground with specific performers. Our connections with them vary — background, talent, personality — but a consistent one is generation. So it is lamentable when we hear of an actor aging or even dying. Why? Because it means another part of our culture and zeitgeist is fading away.
We're just over halfway through 2023, and while we haven't seen a repeat of 2016 with its flurry of celebrity deaths, numerous actors from the screen and stage are passing on. Here are the actors who have died in 2023, so far.

Believe it or not, there used to be a time where movie sequels were actually an incredibly rare thing. As it was, audiences felt that movies and even tv shows should have definitive stories and points that they were trying to make and why would anybody bother making a sequel to what should have been a conclusive story? But now, in an era where Hollywood values established IP and fanbases more than any potential original project, sequels have become the norm.
It isn’t necessarily a bad thing that sequels have taken over cinemas, provided that the sequels are just as good as the originals and come out with their own original plot-lines. Like all movies, whether or not a person might enjoy a surplus of sequels is preferential and is more so dependent on the subject material, especially if it’s regarding a franchise that the audience has taken a liking too.

Stranger Things is in the midst of yet another multiple-year hiatus, and with the Writers Guild of America strike still going strong, it looks like we won’t be seeing the conclusion to the Hawkins saga for quite some time. We’ll take any crumbs we can that fall from the Upside Down, and Netflix was kind enough to provide those to fans at their Tudum 2023 event this past weekend. With Arnold Schwarzenegger at the microphone and fans on the edge of their seats for any information on the fifth season, The Terminator actor bellowed to the audience that his former co-star in the famous James Cameron science fiction franchise, Linda Hamilton, would be appearing next season in the Duffer Brothers’ series climactic set of episodes.
There was no further information given about the Sarah Connor actress’ role in the season, but we can assume that it will be more than a small cameo.

Linda Hamilton is joining the cast of Stranger Things for the fifth and final season.
Netflix announced Hamilton’s casting during the streamer’s fan event in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday. No details have been revealed regarding Hamilton’s role.
Hamilton is best known as Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, most recently starring in 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate. She was nominated for both an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards for her work in the CBS series Beauty and the Beast and received her third Golden Globe nomination for her performance in USA Network’s A Mother’s Prayer. Hamilton is repped by Innovative Artists.
It’s unclear when Stranger Things 5 will debut on Netflix, given that production was pushed due to the ongoing writers strike. All the scripts have been written, but with the Aug. 2 production start date scrapped, there is no news on when cameras will begin rolling.
