Alright, we've got three storyboards below that have been animated by James Rothwell, for Kenneth Branagh's Thor. The first two scene below, are of the Destroyer invades the town. Each animatic shows different versions of Thor confronting the Destroyer, as well as different versions of the Warriors Three and Lady Sif battling the Destroyer. The final scene, is when Thor is about to be named, by Odin, the heir to his throne. As this is going on the Frost Giants snuck into Asgard's Weapons Vault and try to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters. Before they can get away the Destroyer comes to life and kills the Frost Giants. The storyboards are very similar to the theatrical version, but there are a few slight differences. Can you spot them? Storyboards: Thomas A. Nelson * Animatics: James Rothwell Storyboards: Thomas A. Nelson, Joel Venti & Timothy Burgard...

Iam Entertainment has reportedly signed a deal for the rights to make a movie based on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Now, don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. They haven’t purchased a script that happens to be set at the parade. They aren’t making a documentary about the history of the parade. They’ve just got the rights to the parade; and now comes to busy work of finding a story to shoe-horn into it and a director to put it all together. As Iam Entertainment producer Scott Glassgold says, “We’re aiming to make a four-quadrant, family-friendly film somewhere in that Night at the Museum, Elf sweet spot.” Sounds like this Glassgold is a real artistic type. I can see why he would have wanted to get into movie making. Joel Venti, the artist who storyboarded Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, came up with some concept art to help...

Have we seriously reached the point of adapting corporate-sponsored public events onto film?
Scott Glassgold and Raymond Brothers are developing a film based around the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade says The Hollywood Reporter.
The producers are currently meeting with writers to develop the concept for this project which they describe as a "four-quadrant, family-friendly film" along "Night at the Museum" and "Elf" lines.
Storyboard artist Joel Venti has come up with some illustrations to present to Macy's which they approved of. One potential concept is that the giant floats in the parade come to life.

First Shawn Levy and Ben Stiller brought The Museum of Natural History and The Smithsonian to life in the Night at the Museum movies. Then it was announced that Jon Favreau would be doing the same for for Disney theme parks in Magic Kingdom. Now it looks like someone has had the bright idea to bring holiday floats to life. THR is reporting that a movie based around the Thanksgiving Macy's Day Parade is now in the works by producers Scott Glassgold and Raymond Brothers, who recently closed a deal for the rights. While the story isn't settled yet, Glassgold and Brothers have been meeting with writers and one idea being thrown around will see the giant floats come alive. In order to sell the clothing store on the concept, the producers hired artist Joel Venti to help draw their vision, which won over execs. Said Macy.s Senior Vice...

Yep. Hollywood has now moved on to turning parades into movies. Producers Scott Glassgold and Raymond Brothers of Iam Entertainment have acquired the rights to make a movie based on the popular Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Who would have ever thought?
According to Glassgold they are "aiming to make a four-quadrant, family-friendly film somewhere in that Night At The Museum, Elf sweet spot." They've already been meeting with writers and are exploring various story concepts, including one where the floats come to life... ugh.
To get Macy's on board the project Glassgold and Brothers brought in artist Joel Venti to create a visual presentation. It obviously worked. Venti storyboarded films such as Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Thor.
Macy’s senior vp Robin Hall said we are always searching for the next Miracle on 34th Street. THR Reports that the company is consistently approached, mostly with...
