Film and media company Buffalo 8 has acquired worldwide distribution rights to “Dig Me No Grave” from Djonny Chen’s prolific U.K.-based outfit Silent D Pictures. The deal was revealed at the Berlin European Film Market (EFM).
“Dig Me No Grave” follows the harrowing journey of an ageing hunter who embarks on a final quest for an elusive elk. His seemingly routine expedition takes a nightmarish turn when he becomes ensnared beneath the immense weight of a bear. Days of desperate survival ensue until a mysterious stranger rescues him, leading to intense events in the unforgiving wilderness.
The cast includes Warren Lee Hicks (“Renegades”), James Bryhan (“Shadow and Bone”) and Mark Strange (“B.R.I.”). The film is directed by Ranjeet S. Marwa (“Spring Lakes”) and written by Gary A. Piazza.

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the lineup of plays, playwrights and directors for the 37th annual Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville, running February 27April 7, 2013. The Festival, underwritten for the 33rd consecutive year by the Louisville-based Humana Foundation, will feature fully-produced world premieres by Jeff Augustin, Mallery Avidon, Will Eno, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Sam Marks a suite of three one-act plays by Rinne Groff, Lucas Hnath and Anne Washburn commissioned by Actors Theatre and performed by the Acting Apprentice Company and an evening of ten-minute plays featuring a new play by Sarah Ruhl, among others yet to be announced.

The centerpiece of Sundance Institute.s Theatre Program, the Theatre Lab is a three-week developmental retreat designed to provide a private, creative environment for playwrights, directors, composers and librettists to devise and refine new work with the support of creative advisors, full casts and rehearsal space. This year, Sundance has 31 fellows or generative artists, including playwrights, composers, directors and creative teams. Sundance Institute is grateful for the assistance of the Performing Arts Residency program at The Banff Centre.
