Walter is an award winning Producer/Editor that lives and works in South Florida since 1984. Presently he is a freelance Editor for various studios, production and entertainment companies. He is a two time EMMY Award Winner. One for the SunCoast EMMY for Best Children's Program as Director/Editor and the other as the Editor for Best Music Special at the MidWest EMMY Awards (Night of The Proms - Where Classical meets Pop!). He has also won Gold Awards at the Houston International Film Festival, several local ADDY Awards, and has edited a documentaries that have won numerous Film Festival Awards, including the President's Award at the Nashville Film Festival. A short student film Walter edited won numerous film festival awards and was nominated for Best Student Short Film at the Academy Awards,
When Walter first came to South Florida in 1984 it was to form Orion Post Production, a creative editorial boutique with in house Sound Mixing. Orion Post serviced a thriving film community cutting International, National and Regional commercials for Pizza Hut, Carnival Cruise Lines, SF Ford Dealers, Panama Ministry of Tourism and The Playboy Channel. Orion became well known for its' Automated Dialogue Replacement for numerous major motion pictures (Goonies, Children of The Corn, Izzy and Moe, Lost in London, etc) as well as handling the pilot and all subsequent episodes of Miami Vice and BL Stryker. The editorial credit Walter is most proud of is for "Bushido" an episode of Miami Vice directed by Edward James Olmos. (uncredited)
Prior to moving to South Florida, Walter was a Videographer/ Editor in Washington D.C., shooting and editing national and international news for INN, ABC's 20/20, BBC. CBC, NHK, Fuji TV, France One, and WPIX (NY).
Walter's career started at an NBC affiliate (KCFW) in Northwestern Montana where he worked in Production and Directed the local Evening News. He also hosted the daily Public Affairs program "Community Focus". He eventually moved to the parent station, KECI in Missoula where he was an Account Executive as well as an on camera host for the Easter Seals, March of Dimes and Crime Stoppers Telethons.
