Marriott Content Studio has already produced two short films for its online video portfolio, and now it’s adding a third. The digital production house of the international hotel chain will debut a new short film called Business Unusual in partnership with Marriott’s upscale Renaissance Hotels.
Written and directed by Daniel Malakai Cabrera and Caine Sinclair, Business Unusual is a twelve-minute film centered on two ad executives and former co-workers Chip and David, who are both trying to present their pitches to land a new client. Business Unusual stars Yoshua Sudarso (Power Rangers Dino Charge), Jason Gerhardt (General Hospital), Grant Bowler (Defiance, True Blood), Tia Carrere (Wayne’s World), and Brian Poli-Dixon (artist, actor, and former...

Have you ever noticed that we as international consumers of pop culture are exposed to an inordinate amount of things named "Oz"? There are people named "Oz." There are television shows named "Oz." There are movies released 74 years apart named "Oz." Certainly, there is an unspoken worldwide fascination with those two letters in that specific order.
It's entirely possible, in fact, that we've reached a point where we cannot move forward as a society until we have in place an unofficial ranking of all things Oz, especially with this week's upcoming release of "Oz: The Great and Powerful." There are just too many damn Ozzes (sp).
Counting down from 10-1, here is the Oz pecking order, as it stands right now:
10. Oz from the American Pie movies (as portrayed by Chris Klein)
If you want to get technical, Chris Klein's character in the "American Pie" movies is actually named "Chris Ostreicher,...

If you've followed professional baseball over the last decade, you're likely familiar with the name Ozzie Guillen. One of the more outspoken managers in the sport, Guillen is the first Latino manager in the history of Major League Baseball to win the World Series, bringing the Chicago White Sox their first championship since 1917 when the team won it all in 2005. Now, according to Showbizcafe (via Collider), Silver Linings Playbook actor John Ortiz (who plays Bradley Cooper's best friend Ronnie in that film) is developing a biopic about the often controversial player-turned-manager in the vein of Moneyball. Read on! Speaking with Showbizcafe, Ortiz revealed that he's meeting with Guillen to work out the details of their project before it goes into pre-production. He says: "Ozzie Guillen and I are going to meet when I’m in Chicago. I don’t want to make a straight up baseball movie, but something...

"Saturday Night Live" has a pretty consistent format. They hire a guest host. Said guest host appears in many of the sketches, gets laughs and simultaneously is able to promote his or her latest project. Josh Brolin's appearance on the sketch comedy show on Saturday (April 14) seemed to break the mold as he barely showed up. When he did, Brolin was fine, but his absence was noticeable.
Here are our thoughts on the most recent "SNL":

Bill Maher took to his "Real Time" pulpit on Friday to make a bold defense against those who condemned Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen for saying "I love Fidel Castro" in an interview. Maher encouraged his viewers to take a harder look at whether Guillen was truly out of line for proclaiming admiration for the longtime Communist dictator of Cuba, who handed power to his brother in 2008 but remains a powerful figure in Cuban and international politics.
Guillen made the comments to Time Magazine last week, but later claimed that they were mistranslated and apologized profusely after he was suspended for five games. But Maher felt that the apology and suspension were completely unnecessary. "If you say something Communists don't like, they take away your job and send you to a re-education camp until you come out with the one approved opinion," Maher said sarcastically. "We wouldn't want that here in America.

The Miami Marlins suspended manager Ozzie Guillen on Tuesday (April 10) for five games, this after his recent remarks in which he praised Fidel Castro.
"The Marlins acknowledge the seriousness of the comments attributed to Guillen," the team says in a statement. "The pain and suffering caused by Fidel Castro cannot be minimized especially in a community filled with victims of the dictatorship."
Guillen, speaking in Spanish (translated by Espn), tells the assembled media, "I feel like I betrayed my Latin community. I am here to say I am sorry with my heart in my hands and I want to say I'm sorry to all those people who are hurt indirectly or directly."
Guillen's woes began following a Time magazine interview in which he says, "I respect Fidel Castro. You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill Fidel Castro for the last 60 years, but that son of a b**** is still there.

Miami Marlins' manager Ozzie Guillen finds himself in full-on crisis mode, this after a recent Time magazine article in which he professes his respect for former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. The team's new coach now says he will fly back to Miami from their current road trip to answer questions about these statements, Espn is reporting.
Guillen's problems began during a recent interview with the magazine in which he says, "I respect Fidel Castro. You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill Fidel Castro for the last 60 years, but that son of a b**** is still there."
These comments went over like a lead balloon in Miami, a city with a sizable Cuban community. Guillen has since said he feels "guilty" and "embarrassed" by these remarks. The Marlins also issued a statement calling Castro "a brutal dictator who has caused unthinkable pain for more than 50 years."

Sean Penn has a new nemesis in Venezuelan-American baseball boss Ozzie Guillen.
The outspoken Chicago White Sox manager has challenged the movie star to accompany him on a trip to Venezuela, so he can show Penn the real country - not the one he witnessed when he visited as a guest of President Hugo Chavez.
Guillen was appalled when he heard Penn praising controversial Chavez on TV in March, calling the actor a "clown" in a tweet.
And during an interview on U.S. show In Depth With Graham Bensinger on Wednesday, Guillen branded Penn "a loser," adding, "When you say our country is in good shape when it's not, who are you to talk about Venezuela?
"I invite him to go to Venezuela with me, and I'll say, 'This is Venezuela, bro. Here it is. This Venezuela, not the one they show you.'"...

No doubt Sean Penn won't be attending any Chicago White Sox games in the near future. And it's not because he doesn't like baseball... The team's outspoken manager, Ozzie Guillen, seems to have made a second career out of blasting the Oscar winner for his support of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. It all started back in March after Penn defended Chavez during an appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher. Guillen, a Venezuelan-American former pro-baseball player, wasn't pleased, tweeting that Penn is "very crazy." He later challenged Penn, also on Twitter, to move to the South American country "to see how long you last clown." Fast forward to...

It’s rare that I can’t stop giggling at an internet video, not because I live a hollow joyless bloggerxistence (I do but that’s barely related), but because I always view finding internet videos as my job, and me laughing at them uncontrollably would literally be no different than a doctor laughing at a patient’s fatal X-Ray (If anything, it would be way worse). That said, I could not stop laughing at the following sketch, “He’s A Great Book! with Ozzie Guillen” – a thoughtful musing on the literary classic The Great Gatsby by everyone’s favorite bafflingly profane White Sox manager. You don’t have to know Ozzie Guillen, The Great Gatsby, or what words are to enjoy this: He’s a Great Book! with Ozzie Guillen — The Great Gatsby from Dan Bulla on Vimeo. (via @freedarko)...

Facebook: More than 80 million Facebook users are obsessed with Farmville, and one of the more devoted players is Bulgaria's Plovidv City Council member, Dimitar Kerin. During council meetings, Kerin would take advantage of the city hall's laptops and wireless connection to tend to his farm. This caught the attention of the council chair, who many times scolded Kerin's virtual farming, warning him that the game was not allowed during meetings. Kerin, obviously sensing the Kafkaesque ridiculousness of the "wrongdoing," kept on Farmville, arguing that he had to catch up with other council members, who achieved higher levels on the game. Kerin pointed out logically that many other members used city hall for their Farmville pleasures, and cited the fact that one councilman had reached level 46, whereas Kerin was stuck at a pitiful level 40. Shockingly, council...

The Informant!: "Many of Steven Soderbergh's films in the past eight or nine years can be understood in light of the director asking himself a different hypothetical question: What if I made a slick caper movie cobbled from the emotional remnants of the 1960s? What if I made a stilted, form-driven science-fiction movie cobbled together from the emotional remnants of the 1970s? What if I made a historical drama using period filming techniques cobbled together from the emotional remnants of the 1940s? Etc., etc. Where Soderbergh's earlier films seemed genuinely interested in examining what it meant to pick a certain storytelling approach while never losing sight of the central narrative, his later work is often willfully unclassifiable, as in the deeply flawed and navel-gazing Ocean's Twelve or the passion project Che. But with The Informant!, Soderbergh's finally made a movie that doesn't know whether it's a limp comedy or a slack thriller.

Last night, deep inside the bowels of the new Yankee Stadium, Shaheem Reid and I found ourselves given free rein to roam pretty much anywhere we wanted to in the Bronx venue. During game two. Of the World Series.
Now, we've both been backstage at some major concerts before. Or inside recording studios when hits were being created.
But this experience was entirely different.
Two music journalists who are big (big!) sports fans with the opportunity to masquerade as baseball writers with credentials to go just about anywhere we wanted. Only the guys in the Phillies and Yankees uniforms had more access than us. (And maybe that Jay-z fellow who performed last night before the game.)
When we walked into the stadium we were overwhelmed by the amount of people, cheers and general pandemonium that ensues during a game of this caliber.
We quickly found a staircase...

The World Series is just around the corner and Fox has done something to make the coverage a bit more interesting. No, they have dictated that the umpires be replaced with androids, although after the screw-ups from Game Four of the Alcs, that might not be a bad suggestion. Fox Sports has added White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen to the pre and post-game analysis.
Aside from being a World Series winner, Ozzie is a character. He's funny, audacious, occasionally inappropriate, but highly knowledgeable about baseball and entertaining. He won't hold back what he thinks and if you want to hear real inside baseball talk, that's what Ozzie will deliver.
