The début feature from the writer of 2008's Sexy Galaxy, finally comes to DVD. Following in the footsteps of the diseased low-budget sexploitation film-maker, Russ Meyer, Pervert! serves up plenty of campy humour, eye-poppingly large-breasted ladies and Grindhouse cinematography.
Meat sculpture artist, Hezekiah welcomes his compulsive masturbator son, James (nick-named “Come Quick”), to his remote desert ranch where he can “learn how to become a man”. Widowed, Hezekiah, occupies his time with “two-bit whores with no family”, boasting his latest squeeze, Cheryl is “a woman who can satisfy him in ways [James'] mother never could.” Hezekiah warns James outside is not safe after dark before a series of strange sounds and sitings begin, prompting James to fear for his father's sanity.
Yudis milks the-wholesome-boy-coming-home-from-university scenario to the full, tempting his lead at every corner with an array of naked ladies. The terrible acting almost seems intentional and complements a deliberately smutty...

Pervert is an unashamed homage to the skin flicks of the 60's and 70's particular the genres godfather Russ Meyer. Sure it’s the kind of thing that is politically incorrect, but it's not "mean spirited" at all, which I think some of the modern movement to "react" against "political correctness" is. Pervert! Is really just good ole fashion soft-core fun and titillation with large slice of humour.

Because of opposition from a firefighters union in Massachusetts, Warner Bros. Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are shutting down preproduction on 3000 Degrees. The movie, to star Ed Harris and Woody Harrelson for director Danny Boyle, was to have begun filming on locations in Toronto next month. The project was based on Sean Flynn's nonfiction book 3000 Degrees: The True Story of a Deadly Fire and the Men Who Fought It, an account of the tragic fire that turned a century-old storage building in Worcester, Mass., into a tinderbox that claimed the lives of six firefighters in December 1999. Since the project's announcement early last year, at least four of the six families involved have objected to the production, and the town's firefighters lined up behind them. But with Boyle stepping in -- Michael Mann had originally been attached to direct -- and major casting begun, the project appeared to be on track.
Ed Harris and Woody Harrelson are the first to go into the fire. The actors are set to star in the firefighting ensemble movie 3000 Degrees that Danny Boyle is directing for Warner Bros. Pictures. Billy Crudup also is in negotiations to join the project, which Brian Grazer is producing through Imagine Entertainment. The drama is an adaptation of Sean Flynn's book 3000 Degrees: The True Story of a Deadly Fire and the Men Who Fought It. The book grew out of Flynn's July 2000 Esquire article detailing a tragic fire that turned a century-old storage building in Worcester, Mass., into a cinderbox that claimed the lives of six firefighters in December 1999. Scott Silver wrote the screenplay.
