Jane Fonda has expressed “worry” about the forthcoming Barbarella remake starring Sydney Sweeney.
In October, it was announced that the Euphoria star would be leading Sony’s remake of the 1968 sci-fi camp classic as titular Barbarella, the role originated and made famous by Fonda.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Fonda confirmed she has no involvement with the new film, saying that she “tries not to” even think about it.
“Because I worry about what it’s going to be,” the 85-year-old veteran actor explained.
“I had an idea of how to do it that [original producer] Dino De Laurentiis, when he was still alive, wouldn’t listen to. But it could have been a truly feminist movie.”
Fonda’s portrayal of Barbarella, the space adventurer who’s sent on a mission to retrieve a scientist in the erotic sci-fi film, cemented her status as a Hollywood sex symbol.

Taylor Swift’s fans are convinced her newly released “Lavender Haze” music video contains a subtle yet intentional Joe Alwyn Easter egg.
An early scene in the Grammy-winning artist’s music video, showing a vinyl cover with a printed image of a Pisces and Sagittarius constellation, has gone viral on Twitter.
Many Swifties have noted the Sagittarius symbol corresponds with Swift’s birthday (13 December), while the Pisces refers to her boyfriend Alwyn’s birthday (21 February).
“Joe is a Pisces and Taylor is a Sagittarius… what if I told you Taylor’s a mastermind,” one explained.
A second commented: “They appear on a vinyl cover of Mastermind which has lyrics mentioning stars aligning.”
“And the fish in space!! Pisces = the fish of the zodiac,” a third added.
Another went further with the theory, tweeting: “Wait hold up... how am I just realising this.

Kim Woodburn has said that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield should have been fired from This Morning over “queuegate”.
The Celebrity Big Brother star, 80, shared her thoughts on the drama during a recent appearance on the Not My Bagg podcast.
Last year, the ITV presenters found themselves in the middle of a scandal – dubbed “queuegate” – after they were accused of “jumping the queue” to see the Queen’s coffin lying-in-state before her funeral.
Both Schofield and Willoughby denied the accusations, stating that they would “never jump a queue”.
ITV supported the pair, claiming that they were “there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event”.
Speaking about the incident, Woodburn told hosts Joe and George Baggs: “They were not asked to cover the Queen’s funeral.

The CEO of Netflix has said that the streaming giant has never “cancelled a successful show” – leaving many subscribers incredulous.
Earlier this week, co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters gave an interview to Bloomberg.
The interviewer asked the duo: “How was the evolution of your business affected your relationship with the creative community?” adding that people online are “constantly” outage about shows being cancelled.
Sarandos answered: “We have never cancelled a successful show. A lot of these shows were well-intended but talk to a very small audience on a very big budget.
“The key to it is you have to be able to talk to a small audience on a small budget and a large audience at a large budget. If you do that well, you can do that forever.”

Alice Evans ‘facing arrest after missing court appearance’ over ex Ioan Gruffudd’s restraining order
Alice Evans could face arrest after she failed to appear in court for allegedly violating her restraining order from estranged husband Ioan Gruffudd, according to reports.

The Masked Singer has returned for its fourth UK series, with a new batch of contestants attempting to sing their way through while remaining undetected.
The show kicked off on New Year’s Day, with the first six acts singing in disguise as the judges and viewers attempted to guess their identities.
The first contestan, Ghost, was unmasked and revealed to be football pundit Chris Kamara.
The remaining six contestants will compete during Saturday (7 January) night’s show.
Fawn is a wide-eyed deer, who wears a brown and white spotted jacket and trousers and matching bow on their head, with furry leg warmers.
She asked for five sugars in her tea, before remarking: “Like a fawn, I admit that when I was young I was a bit awkward.”
The judges noted she was wearing a necklace that said “Sandy”.

I have to admit that I was thoroughly disappointed with the ‘squirrel games’ acting channel on last week’s episode and to be honest it was not down to the queen’s performances themselves. While the queens did seem to struggle during the rehearsal process, their individual performances were mostly entertaining but the biggest problem I had with the challenges was the script itself. I don’t know who writes these challenges but the entire sketch was crammed full of random pop culture moments that did not really make sense in the overall narrative. We saw characters inspired by Bear Grylls, Kim Woodburn and Ashley and Pudsey from Britain’s Got Talent in a Big Brother-style competition run by a killer squirrel that hosted murderous Squid Games-style challenges. On top of this, there was also dialogue that paid homage to viral videos, Drag Race references and many other pop culture phenomena.

It’s crazy to think that has been almost four years since the first ever season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK was announced which shone a light on a much more British version of drag. I think when this show was first announced there was concern amongst the fans that the Drag Race format would overlook the much more camp and entertaining style of drag that British queens have become synonymous with. We are now in the fourth season of the show and people are starting to realise that the UK queens can easily stand toe to toe with many of the American competitors. In fact winner of that first-ever UK season, The Vivienne, put up an incredible fight during the international, all-winners season this year, proving that British queens are just as talented as their American counterparts. It is clear however that Ru herself did not have...

Les Dennis has questioned when Matt Hancock is going to talk about dyslexia, as he said he would, on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
The former health secretary, who had the Tory whip for appearing on the reality show, initially claimed that he would use his platform to raise awareness for the condition.
Appearing on Good Morning Britainon Tuesday (15 November), actor Dennis said that he’d been intrigued to see how Cleaver would react to Hancock arriving in the jungle last week.
“When Matt Hancock went in, I was wondering how Sue would react,” he said.
However, Dennis said that he was unimpressed with how much attention Hancock was getting on the show.
“I’ve got bored with it,” he said. “I don’t want to watch the Matt Hancock show. And where’s the talk of dyslexia?”

Campaign groups have flown a plane protesting Matt Hancock’s appearance on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! over the show’s camp.
On Tuesday (15 November) between 11am and 1pm Australian time, a plane was flown over the camp where the contestants are based in the jungle.
Attached to the vehicle was a bearing a 35-metre-long banner, which reads: “Covid Bereaved Say Get Out Of Here!”
The protest came from campaign groups 38 Degrees and Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice, after more than 44,000 people signed a petition calling for ITV to reverse their decision to make Hancock a campmate.
The former health secretary, who resigned as health secretary last year after violating his own Covid regulations when he was caught kissing his aide, was stripped of the Tory whip for appearing on the show.
Hancock entered the jungle as a “bombshell” contestant alongside Seann Walsh four episodes into the series.

Kim Woodburn has said that she’s “bored sick” of the contestants on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! complaining about Matt Hancock.
The How Clean Is Your House? presenter appeared on the ITV reality show in 2009, when she placed second behind Gino D’Acampo.
Writing for Metro.co.uk, Woodburn said that she was annoyed watching the campmates moaning about Hancock, then eating the food he won in the Bushtucker Trials.
“Not one of them that moans about him has got the courage of their own convictions,” Woodburn said. “Oh, they’ll eat his food while they pull him to pieces. You two-faced bunch of pigs!... Bloody stop this nonsense. Stop it altogether.”
Woodburn then complained about Hancock being voted by the public to take part in his first six Bushtucker Trials.
“We know the outcome and want to see other people do it and suffer,” she wrote.

In my review of Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars episode four I talked about how this season has proven the expression “expectation usually leads to disappointment” wrong. We have been waiting for years for the show to create a season entirely made up of queens who overcame their competitors. The queens have had time since their initial appearance to hone their craft, tour the world, collaborate with designers etc and so the standard of drag we have seen in this season has been some of the greatest we have seen across any franchise of the show! However, another extremely common adage states that “all good things must come to an end” and unfortunately in my opinion this week’s episode seems to be the early stages of the show losing its magic! We are only eight episodes in and so far we have had two design challenges and while...

A controversial episode of Celebrity Big Brother was the most complained about British show of the decade, while Love Island, The X Factor and ITV daytime show Loose Women also make the list from regulator Ofcom.
More than 25,000 people complained about an episode of last year’s Celebrity Big Brother on Viacom’s Channel 5. The complaints were centered around an incident where former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett alleged assault by fellow housemate Ryan Thomas, who starred in Coronation Street.
The second most complained about show of the decade was an episode of daytime talk show Loose Women from 2018. The episode in question featured an argument between presenters Kim Woodburn and Coleen Nolan, with the majority of complaints arguing that there was bullying on the ITV show.
Elsewhere, Love Island made the list at number eight. The episode, from 2018, featured contestant Dani Dyer (left), daughter of British acting legend Danny Dyer,...

Palmer-Tomkinson shocked the entire nation as she revealed the root of their tension was all down to Day's unbridled sexiness, shouting: "I'll tell you why I am very uptight. It's because I think you are so f**king sexy."

Channel 4's Hotel Gb will reportedly not return for another series.
The reality show, which boasted an array of stars for its first run, is said to have been axed due to poor ratings.
Gordon Ramsay, Mary Portas, Gok Wan and Katie Piper all took part in last year's programme, where two celebrity teams staffed a hotel with unemployed trainees and battled it out to raise the most money for charity.
An insider told The Sun: "It was a good idea and bosses are glad they gave it a go.
"But it just didn't pull in enough viewers at the end of the day and it won't be coming back."
At the end of the show - which also starred Phil Spencer, Kim Woodburn and Kirstie Allsop - the 14 trainees who took part were all offered jobs by UK firms who visited the hotel undercover to seek out potential employees.

Andrew Lincoln of This Life plays an all-American everyman in a grisly post-apocalyptic drama from the writer of The Shawshank Redemption
There is a moment at the start of the most gore-laden, bloody and grisly TV episode ever made when you will think to yourself: "What's Egg from This Life doing in an American cop's uniform?"
But this thought won't occupy you for long: you'll have more to think about than just Andrew Lincoln's transformation from Brit actor to all-American blue collar hero. Like zombies: lots and lots of zombies. Zombies with flesh peeling from their faces to reveal bits of skull, zombie grannies, zombie psychos, zombie toddlers and – in one tasteful early scene – a legless, half-eaten, decaying zombie woman who's dragging herself slowly around town like a human slug. It is very probably the most unpleasant thing on mainstream TV since Kim Woodburn forced down a kangaroo testicle...
