- Ted Lindsay was born on July 29, 1925 in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. He was an actor, known for 1956 Stanley Cup Finals (1956), NHL on CBS (1957) and Names on the Cup (2017). He was married to Joanne. He died on March 4, 2019 in Oakland, Michigan, USA.

- During his career he received around 600 stitches, most of them on his face.
- Pictured on one of six Canada commemorative postage stamps issued 24 January 2004 honoring living hockey players. Stamps were issued in booklet form and in a single souvenir sheet. Other players honored were Johnny Bower, Brad Park, Larry Robinson, Marcel Dionne, and Milt Schmidt.
- Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, 1966.
- In 1,068 regular season games, he scored 379 goals and had 472 assists for 851 points. He had 47 goals for 96 points in 133 playoff games. When he retired for the first time in 1960, the only players who had more points were Gordie Howe and Montreal's Maurice (The Rocket) Richard.
