Menelaos Kyparissis

Menelaos Kyparissis was born in Athens, Greece. He is a graduate of the School of Philology (Linguistics Department) of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and of the Greek Art Theatre "Karolos Koun" Drama School. He received additional training attending workshops under director Thomas Moschopoulos at the Porta Theatre, under director Cezaris Grauzinis at the Athens Conservatoire Drama School, and under IWA founder Sophie Papadopoulos at the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation. His stage credits as an actor include, among others, Solo (dir. F. Papadodima), Phaedrus (dir. S. Papathanassiou), Nekyia (dir. F. Papadodima), Off-White (dir. M. Karantzas), Life Traps - Loula Anagnostaki Mixage (dir. M. Karatzogiannis), The Day Gagarin Died (dir. M. Karantzas), Shavua (dir. G. Kaynar-Kissinger), Nikiratos (dir. K. Georgoudaki), Gynaikokratia (dir. N. Kopsidas), Antigone (dir. Y. Eliraz), The Great Harbour at Night (dir. A. Papagiannaki-Divani), and Smyrna: Children of War (dir. M. Papadimitriou). He most recently appeared in the film Wind of Freedom (2022) by Stelios Haralambopoulos, and worked on The Walk, an international arts festival in support of refugees. He can next be seen in director Martha Frintzila's performance art project Oresteia and in the commemorative series O Gi, a podcast from Small Planet Productions on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
