Director Nikkhil Advani has recalled the shooting experience for the second season of ‘Mumbai Diaries’. The directordescribed it as a dangerous thing. “We had quite a shooting experience this season, it was surely a dangerous thing. The production design of the set had scaffolding everywhere, and one of the particular scenes involved Konkona being trapped in a room flooded in water. To ensure that she had something to hold onto, we literally strapped her to the scaffolding kept in the room,” he said.
Nikkhiladded: “And while we were inside the room, shooting and filling it up with water, we didn’t realise the amount of pressure it was exerting on the walls. We had to jump out of the set as the walls were beginning to give away. All in all, it was all cool and full of adventure, surely making it a fun shooting experience too.”

Mumbai Diaries Season 2 (Prime Video)
Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Prakash Belawadi, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Riddhi Dogra
Directed by Nikhil Advani
Overlooking the rather strange lacuna in the timeline whereby the second season moves from the terror attack of 26/11/2008 to the monsoonal deluge of 26/7/2005, Mumbai Diaries part 2 is a more intricately sketched portrayal of a city under siege than part 1 which suffered from under-developed characters and over-informed plot developments.
By now we know who’s who at the Bombay General Hospital. They need no introduction, and their function within the disembodied domain of injury and trauma is clearly aligned to the crisis on hand. There is more of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Chitra Das this time than Mohit Raina’s Dr Kaushik Oberoi, the head of trauma who seems pretty traumatized himself.
There are tons of trauma to be negotiated...

Pathaan is a fil directed by Siddharth Anand starring Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
Like Rrr and True Lies together at last, it’s neither as good as one nor the other, but with scenes that are so funny, it’s worth it for them alone.

Rrr just won a well-deserved Oscar for Best Song. The film deserves it and so does the Indian film industry that sometimes gives us true gems such as this wonderful film. Pathaan takes what it can and a little more that’s borrowed from that one which was such a success that it has created an entire school. The script: identical in structure except that now we are in “spy mode”. This time it’s two characters who don’t get along at first but then join forces to save the world.

ReviewPradeep Sastry’s well-intentioned film moves away from snazzy headlines and big money to show you the grit it takes to succeed.Subha J RaoScreengrab: YouTube/ Rajani Thursday StoriesWe regularly read about yet another startup getting a mammoth fresh round of funding, of how venture capitalists and angel investors help make or break ideas, and of home-grown unicorns… Startups are also often the butt of jokes and memes, and Bengaluru even more so, being the hometown of so many of those. But do we pause to think of those who keep trying and never make it? Or of the sheer backbreaking labour and ideation involved in a startup? Pradeep Sastry tries to do just that with Made in Bengaluru, a three-hour ode to the city he so loves. That love is apparent in every frame — it has probably been a while since you’ve seen on screen the garden city...

Rishika Sharma’s Vijayanad can be called a docu-drama. Earlier we have seen Mani Ratnam helm a (rumoured) biopic of one of the most celebrated business tycoons of India – Dhirubhai Ambani. The film was Guru and featured Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Guru was a very interesting and entertaining biopic and was lapped up by cine-goers. Unlike Guru, Vijayanand is told in a very self-praising documentary manner.
Story
The film opens with Vijay Sankeshwar (Nihal Rajput), a 19-year-old man bringing with him a semi-automatic printing machine for their printing press against his father B G Sankeshwar’s (Ananth Nag) wishes. With the new machine their business flourishes as expected but Vijay begins to aim higher. One of the oldest genre tropes imaginable, the use of the haunted house for a setting, offers up countless scenarios over the ages of people investigating the same old situations. From “The Old Dark House” to “The Cat and the Canary,” “The Uninvited” and “The House of Usher” to “The Amityville Horror” and “The Conjuring” to name just a couple, this timeless quality has brought about some of the best and worst the genre has seen due to so many trying their hand at the concept. Milind Rau is one of the latest to do so with his Tamil-lensed genre effort that falls more on the side of the heavyweights in the scene despite falling just short of the marks it set.

Prakash Belawadi is a theatre person and a filmmaker but does not have any inclination of being an actor. However, he is a part of Shoojit Sircar’s Madras Café because of the storyline and most importantly his character sketch in the film.
In conversation with the Times of India, Prakash told him about being a part of a Bollywood film. He said,” Arjun Chakradhar is the assistant director of the film and always wanted me to act in films but I kept refusing. This time, he just sent across the character sketch and the audition scenes. Oh, Bollywood. We love you so. No matter what's going on, you can find a way to break into an impromptu and highly energetic dance routine. You also have the strange ability to make us crave chicken tikka masala and naan bread, but that's an entirely different story.
We knew it was only a matter of time before a Bollywood zombie production would come shambling our way, and according to Screen Daily that's exactly what's coming!
Indian actor Arfi Lamba will star in Prakash Belawadi’s environmental zombie film The Pollutant, which is taking part in the co-production market of this year’s Film Bazaar.
Here's hoping that the undead line up Michael Jackson's Thriller style and bust a move or two hundred. We just can't wait!

Elsewhere, Shekhar Kapur is set to direct London Fields , a murder mystery based on the novel by Martin Amis.
