Back in September, the first image from the horror film Don’t Move was unveiled. That’s the image above, which doesn’t show us anything other than the fact that the movie stars Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more about Don’t Move soon, though, because Variety reports that the worldwide distribution rights to the film have been acquired by the Netflix streaming service. A release date has not yet been announced.
Don’t Move is being produced by genre legend Sam Raimi. Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who directed episodes of the Raimi-produced anthology series 50 States of Fright, directed the film from a screenplay written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders and the recent creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children. This film follows a seasoned killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent.

Netflix has taken worldwide rights on the horror-thriller “Don’t Move,” a new genre entry from producer Sam Raimi.
The project is led by Kelsey Asbille, breakout on the FX anthology series “Fargo” and “Yellowstone,” alongside frequent Ryan Murphy player and “The Big Short’ star Finn Wittrock.
It follows a seasoned serial killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent while the two of them are isolated deep in the forest. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide, and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.
Filmmaking team Brian Netto and Adam Schindler directed the film, having previously delivered the Quibi serial “50 States of Fright.” T.J. Cimfel and David White of “Intruders” wrote the script.
CAA Media Finance and Capstone brokered the deal with Netflix, whose film vertical was just taken over by veteran producer Dan Lin. The streamer...

Kit Harington and Scoot McNairy play old friends who reunite under dangerous circumstances in the first trailer for crime thriller Blood for Dust.
The Avenue is set to release director Rod Blackhurst’s feature in select theaters and on digital platforms April 19 following its premiere at last year’s Tribeca Festival. Josh Lucas and Stephen Dorff also star in Blood for Dust, which tells the story of Cliff (McNairy), a traveling salesman with financial issues who becomes enveloped in the world of drug trafficking after reuniting with Ricky (Harington).
“I don’t sell products that sell themselves,” Harington says in the trailer. This leads McNairy to respond, “You’re an arms dealer who sells drugs, Ricky.”
Blackhurst (Here Alone) helmed the film from a script by David Ebeltoft. Ryan Winterstern, Bernard Kira, Petr Jákl, Ari Novak, Arun Kumar, Bobby Campbell, Nathan Klingher, Mark Fasano and Noah Lang serve as producers.

Director Egor Abramenko gave a new twist to the creature feature in 2020’s Sputnik. He’s now set to take on biblical terror in God’s Country, marking his American directorial debut. Deadline reports that Bodies Bodies Bodies star Maria Bakalova will lead the Matt Reeves-produced genre pic.
God’s Country will follow “a young woman who travels to Kentucky to meet her fiancé, subsequently uncovering something sinister beyond comprehension, as her American dream curdles into a nightmare of biblical proportions.”
Will Soodik (“Westworld”) wrote the script.
Bakalova takes over for Melissa Barrera, who reportedly exited the role due scheduling conflicts. God’s Country is set to go into production in Romania under a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement in March. Barrera was announced to lead the project in February earlier this year, where her character was described as a Salvadoran woman.

Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is the most-watched show across all of television, so it makes sense that the first image from the horror film Don’t Move promotes the fact that Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille is in the movie. Actually, that’s pretty much all it promotes, because the image (which was first seen on Variety) just shows a close-up of Asbille’s face. You can take a look at it at the bottom of this article.

Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Skonieczny is set to go into production on the feature film “Wrooklyn Zoo.”
“Wrooklyn Zoo” is a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo and Juliet” in which Romeo, a skilled skateboarder, finds himself captivated by Julia, a Romani girl seeking to emancipate herself from her environment. Their love becomes a powerful force that transcends cultural and societal barriers, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
Skonieczny is known for directing the critically acclaimed HBO drama series “Blinded by the Lights,” which launched on HBO Europe in 2018, becoming the platform’s third most watched show in the region. The show debuted in the U.S. in 2019 — a rarity at the time for European HBO programming.
The film’s ensemble cast combines recognized Polish actors, Romani performers and professional skateboarders.
The pic is produced by Olga Bibik and Krzysztof Skonieczny of glebokiOFF, together with Alicja Grawon-Jaksik as the associate producer.

Rambo: Last Blood (watch the extended cut of that Here) director Adrian Grunberg‘s shark thriller The Black Demon is set to reach theatres on April 28th, and I’ve been anxious to see a trailer for this one because the only publicity stills released up to this point have only shown lead actor Josh Lucas (The Forever Purge) and his character’s family standing on dry land. Exactly two months ago today, we heard that Rambo: Last Blood (watch the extended cut of that Here) director Adrian Grunberg‘s shark thriller The Black Demon was going to be reaching theatres on April 21st – a date that would, unfortunately, put it in direct competition with the new Evil Dead movie, Evil Dead Rise. Now we’ve learned that The Black Demon has wisely decided to give Evil Dead Rise a little space, shifting its release date back one week to April 28th. Now we just need to see a trailer for this thing.

Rambo: Last Blood (watch the extended cut of that Here) director Adrian Grunberg‘s upcoming movie The Black Demon is a shark thriller, but you probably wouldn’t guess that from the promotional images that have been released. Now another image from The Black Demon has been unveiled by USA Today, and this one also shows Lucas standing on dry ground. This time he’s joined by co-stars Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho) and Venus Ariel (Dmz). The new image can be found at the bottom of this article.

Today is a good day for sickos who love weird horror. The production company owned by the incomparable Sam Raimi, Raimi Productions, is teaming up with Hammerstone Studios' Alex Lebovici, the executive producer behind this year's hit horror film, "Barbarian." The two companies are re-teaming with Christian Mercuri's Capstone Studios to bring to life a horror-thriller called "Don't Move," according to an exclusive news break over at Deadline. This is a follow-up collaborative effort between Raimi Productions, Hammerstone Studios, and Capstone Studios after the Bill Skarsgård action-thriller, "Boy Kills World," which is currently in post-production.

A few hours ago, a trailer was released for the creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children (check that out Here), which was written by Cimfel and White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders. Now it has been announced that Sam Raimi is producing the horror thriller Don’t Move, which Adam Schindler and Brian Netto will be directing from a script by Cimfel and White!
Intruders also happens to have been the feature directorial debut of Schindler. Netto’s feature directorial debut was the 2013 horror film Delivery: The Beast Within, which he and Schindler wrote together. Schindler and Netto then became a directing duo when they took the helm of the Grey Cloud Island (Minnesota) episodes of Raimi’s horror anthology series 50 States of Fright.

Raimi Productions is partnering with “Barbarian” producers Alex Lebovici’s Hammerstone Studios and Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios to produce “Don’t Move.” The film is produced by Lebovici, Raimi, and Zainab Azizi. “Don’t Move” is executive produced by co-directors Schindler and Netto, plus Christian Mercuri, David Haring, Marc Manus, and Petr Jákl. Exclusive: Genre legend Sam Raimi’s Raimi Productions and Barbarian EP Alex Lebovici’s Hammerstone Studios are reteaming with Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios to produce the horror-thriller, Don’t Move. The project comes following the parties’ collaboration on Boy Kills World — an action-thriller starring Bill Skarsgård, which is currently in post-production.
Don’t Move watches as a seasoned killer injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. She must then run, fight and hide before her body completely shuts down.
The film’s helmers are Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who recently wrote and directed episodes of Rami’s horror anthology series 50 States of Fright for the defunct short-form streaming platform, Quibi. Its writers, T.J. Cimfel and David White, previously penned the Rory Culkin-led horror-thriller Intruders, also directed by Schindler.

Pretty much from the moment the sci-fi action classic Predator was released in 1987, fans were wondering what it would be like if the alien hunter from that film were to clash with the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. Dark Horse Comics dove into the concept right away, publishing their first Aliens vs. Predator story in 1989. It took a lot longer for the battle to reach the big screen, though. Fifteen years longer, in fact. And with the latest episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, we’re looking into the making of 2004’s Avp: Alien vs. Predator (watch it Here). To find out all about this movie, check out the video embedded above.

Ten months have gone by since we saw a first look image from Rambo: Last Blood (watch the extended cut of that Here) director Adrian Grunberg‘s shark thriller The Black Demon – and that was actually the last time we heard anything about the movie, so I had forgotten about it. Thankfully, our friends at Bloody Disgusting were able to dig up the information that The Black Demon has a theatrical release date of April 21, 2023. Which will, unfortunately, put it in direct competition with the new Evil Dead movie, Evil Dead Rise.
Evil Dead Rise was originally going to be an HBO Max release, but it went over so well with test screening audiences that the decision was made to send it to theatres. So now it’s on a collision course with The Black Demon. Bloody Disgusting was also able to find out that The Black Demon will be...

The costliest Czech film of all time features epic battles, royal conspiracies, hungry lions –and Michael Caine in a neckruff
If you had to put money on who would be cast for a film about 15th-century Czech warrior hero Jan Žižka, then Ben Foster, Matthew Goode, Til Schweiger and Sir Michael of Caine would probably not be top of the list. But that is the impressive ensemble kitted out in ermines and armour by director Petr Jákl for this brutal, byzantine but strangely uninvolving historical actioner set in medieval Bohemia – apparently the most expensive Czech production ever.
Foster plays Žižka, a seasoned mercenary who with his merry band of bruisers is first seen protecting Lord Boresh (Caine) from a riverside ambush. Boresh is neckruff-deep in court intrigues that make the Tory party look like pussycats: Wenceslas IV (Karel Roden) is due in Rome to be crowned Holy Emperor, but his...

The first part of “The Strangers,” a trilogy directed by Renny Harlin and produced by Lionsgate, has started production in Slovakia. Rastislav Kuril’s Frame Film is servicing the production in the country. The producers registered for the 33 cash rebate at the Slovak Audiovisual Fund in June, Film New Europe reports.
Filming on the first part of the trilogy started in August on locations in and around Bratislava.
The trilogy is a remake of the 2008 film “The Strangers,” which was written and directed by Bryan Bertino, with Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman starring. Together with its 2018 sequel “The Strangers: Prey at Night,” it became a cult horror classic.
Starring Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez and Gabriel Basso, the film will follow Petsch’s character as she drives cross-country with her longtime boyfriend (Gutierrez) to begin a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they...

The new horror movie Barbarian overperformed at the domestic box office, where it won the weekend with 10 million in ticket sales from 2,340 theaters.
That puts the well-reviewed film far ahead of an expected 5 million to 6 million opening. Still, the post-Labor Day weekend was more quiet than usual. Not to mention, most of the movie industry is focused on the fall film festivals. Toronto is underway in earnest, with Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans sparking instant Oscar buzz when making its world premiere at the Canadian fest before hitting theaters in November. Another high-profile Toronto entry, Sony’s The Woman King, debuts next weekend at the box office.
From 20th Century Studios and New Regency, Barbarian did big business in Imax and premium large format screens, which contributed 29 percent of the gross.

One can’t watch a film like “Medieval” without imagining yourself in a fantastic position. No, you wouldn’t want to be a character in the movie, that’s for sure; they live lives of constant violence, exploitation and conspiracy. But to be one of the Foley artists working on a film with this many brutal battles — clanking on armor, scraping on chain mail, rustling through fresh leaves — that sounds like a delightful time.
“Medieval” struggles as a work of historical fiction, but when the action mounts, it’s immersive and exciting. Ben Foster stars as real-life soldier and strategist Jan Žižka, a Czech national hero who is said to have never lost a battle. The film takes place in Žižka’s relatively early days, when he was working as a mercenary for Lord Boreš (Michael Caine), who is trying to secure the throne of the Holy Roman Emperor for King Wenceslas IV of Bohemia,...

This past Labor Day weekend looked like it could be one of the worst in recent memory. Thankfully, it was salvaged by National Cinema Day and the overwhelming success of “Top Gun: Maverick.” Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
This coming weekend, those recovering from the throes of awards love out of Venice and Telluride might be prepping for TIFF in Toronto, but everyone else will have a few new options in theaters, just nothing being released particularly wide.
First up, there’s Zach Cregger’s horror film “Barbarian” starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgard and Justin Long. It’s a pretty crazy film that starts out as a simple high-concept surrounding two strangers stuck sharing the same Airbnb, which then turns into something quite different.

Czech folk hero Jan Zizka’s story has been dramatized — and mythologized — in various forms many times, including a mid-1950s celluloid trilogy by Otakar Vavra that was arguably the local industry’s most ambitious production in those somewhat stodgy, pre-New Wave days. Purportedly the Czech Republic’s most expensive feature to date, Petr Jakl’s new “Medieval” portrays the same legendary figure in what’s anything but an old-school costume epic. Instead, this robust, assured enterprise offers a distant past in the brutally combat-driven action mode of “Gladiator” and “Braveheart,” its patriotic sentiments steeped in mud and blood.
The economic realities for such a costly spectacular require a degree of formulaic creative decisions in line with current international audience tastes, while the casting of American and British actors in primary roles further waters down a distinctive regional character. This massive Czech production is directed by a Czech filmmaker named Petr Jákl, and it's about an iconic Czech warlord from history - though it's all in English and features an international cast. The film tells the story of fifteenth century Czech icon and warlord Jan Zizka, who defeated armies of the Teutonic Order and the Holy Roman Empire. Jan realizes that the fate of the Empire will be decided by his love for Lady Katherine and that his fate doesn't lie in the hands of Kings, but in the hands of his own people. Ben Foster stars as Jan Zizka, with an ensemble cast including Sophie Lowe, Michael Caine (!!!), Til Schweiger, Roland Møller, Matthew Goode, William Moseley, Karel Roden, and Werner Daehn.

Here’s the logline for this sea creature chiller: “The film follows oilman Paul Sturges (Lucas) as he takes his family on vacation to Bahia Azul. There, the coastal town he and his wife once knew has mysteriously crumbled and the locals are nowhere to be found. Paul starts off his day with a routine visit to inspect his nearby oil rig, but before he knows it, his entire family has landed with him on the rotting metal tower. From the depths of the ocean rises a massive megalodon known only by its name: the Black Demon. Under constant threat from this primeval species of shark,...
