Box Office Deficit Of Vijay Deverakonda’s The Family Star (Photo Credit – IMDb)
The Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, has turned to be a big disappointment for the makers as the film didn’t perform as expected at the worldwide box office. In fact, if we talk about the general box office rule, it is in deficit and is lagging much behind in terms of recovering the budget. Let’s check out where the film actually stands now and what’s actually the cost.
Directed by Parasuram, the film carried very high expectations on its shoulders, and the major reason behind it was the successful past of the director and Vijay Deverakonda. For those who don’t know, Parasuram and Vijay have worked previously on 2018’s Geetha Govindam. It was a phenomenal success at the box office and even received praise from critics.

Henry Kissinger, who as national security advisor and secretary of state for Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford became one of the most influential, famous and controversial diplomats of the 20th century, died Wednesday in his home in Connecticut. He was 100.
A consultant to almost every President of the United States since leaving the State Department in 1977, Kissinger was instrumental in the historic opening to China in 1972. He was also a hawk during the Vietnam War, a master strategist in geopolitics and Beltway power, and an architect of Middle East shuttle diplomacy. With a realpolitik legacy that is as complicated as any American statesman, the pragmatic and cynical German-born Kissinger also was a much lauded and criticized recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for his role in ending the war in Southeast Asia.

“Zende,” a feature documentary about supercop Madhukar Zende, who arrested the notorious Charles Sobhraj twice, will have its world premiere at the Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival.
Produced by Dora Digs Studios and directed by debutant Akshay Shah, “Zende” is one of the first Indian feature documentaries to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to recreate and regenerate some of Mumbai’s most iconic locations and moments in history.
The film follows Zende, who retired as assistant commissioner of police after a larger-than-life career, in which Sobhraj’s arrests are just a fraction. Spanning over four decades, this saga delves into the crime-ridden underbelly of Bombay, as the city was known then. Zende’s unconventional methods were driven by humanity and a commitment to real change and ranged from parading underworld dons on their knees to quelling communal riots.

San Francisco, July 29 (Ians) The long-awaited mobile version of Meta’s social virtual reality (VR) platform Horizon Worlds, could launch soon.
According to Lowpass newsletter from Janko Roettgers, when Horizon was launched, Meta executives had said that they were planning to launch a mobile app for it as well.
Now, Meta’s metaverse VP Vishal Shah claimed that the company had actually built a working version of the app a year ago.

He didn’t tell Roettgers when exactly the app will launch.

A new Scripps National Spelling Bee champion has been crowned, as 14-year-old Dev Shah from Largo, Florida, won the three-day contest on Thursday, June 1, in National Harbor, Maryland. Shah correctly spelled “psammophile” (a plant or animal that prefers or thrives in sandy areas) to win the competition, narrowly beating fellow 14-year-old Charlotte Walsh from Merrifield, Virginia. Walsh incorrectly spelled the word “daviely” (a Scottish adverb meaning listlessly), losing her the contest. Before answering the final word, Shah correctly spelled words such as “bathypitotmeter,” “schistorrhachis,” and “rommack.” He also correctly answered “magician” to the question, “Who would be most likely to practice legerdemain?” As the confetti rained down and the trophy was handed out, Shah’s parents joined him on the stage to celebrate. You can watch the feelgood moment below. “It’s surreal,” Shah said of his victory. “I didn’t even let it settle in. My legs are still shaking.

Actor Aashim Gulati, who is gearing up for the second season of the historical fiction streaming show ‘Taj: Divided by Blood’, has revealed that sharing the screen with an actor of Naseeruddin Shah’s stature did make him feel nervous but he overcame the nervousness by tricking his mind into believing that he was just serving a character and drawing from Naseer’s character.
Aashim portrays the role of Salim, the son to Naseer’s character of Akbar in the series.
The second season will take a leap of 15 years after the end of the first season, and will chart Salim’s journey from being the exiled enemy of the Mughal Empire to seeking blood and revenge in an attempt to become the next emperor.

Sudipto Sen’s “The Kerala Story,” produced by noted filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, is in the eye of a storm in India. It has divided the country’s political classes, with some banning the film and others encouraging it.
“The Kerala Story” follows the travails of three women from the southern Indian state of Kerala who are abducted and recruited by Isis in Syria.
The modestly budgeted film released on May 5 to poor critical reviews, but is emerging as a major box office success, having grossed $5.6 million to date.
The film claims that some 32,000 women from Kerala had been abducted and recruited by the Isis though the veracity of this number has been disputed. There were widespread objections in Kerala to the film, but it is running there in a limited number of cinemas.

London, April 24 (Ians) Babies’ gut consists of more than 200 previously unknown viral families within their intestines, which likely plays an important role in protecting children from chronic diseases like asthma and diabetes later on in life, according to scientists.
While it has been known for decades that gut bacteria in young children are vital to protect them from chronic diseases later on in life, the knowledge about the many viruses found there is minimal.
To explore, a team from the University of Copenhagen spent five years studying and mapping the diaper contents of 647 healthy Danish one-year-olds.
“We found an exceptional number of unknown viruses in the faeces of these babies. Not just thousands of new virus species — but to our surprise, the viruses represented more than 200 families of yet to be described viruses,” said Professor Dennis Sandris Nielsen of the Department of Food Science, at the varsity.

This four-part Netflix series isn’t the first time that Josephine Hart’s 1991 novel Damage has been adapted for screen. In 1992, celebrated French director Louis Malle made a feature film of Hart’s book that welcomed Jeremy Irons, Juliette Binoche, Miranda Richardson, Peter Stomare and Rupert Graves to this exploration of erotic obsession. The film earned Richardson a Best Actress nomination among many others at that year’s Academy Awards.
This serialised version was created by playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm with writer Benji Walters, and directed by Ordinary Love, Good Vibrations and Cherry Bomb‘s Lisa Barrow D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn, updates the action to the modern day and remoulds the characters somewhat. Richard Armitage plays successful surgeon Will, husband to Ingrid and father to Jay and Sally, while Charlie Muphy’s character Anna Barton is expanded to explore her response to the fallout of the story’s scandalous central affair.

TV actress Sayantani Ghosh talks about making her audio debut with ‘Shraapit’ and what made her choose the medium after being part of the TV industry for so long.
She says: “As an artist I’ve been working for, like, 18-19 years now. And I’m always looking out for these newer challenges, newer themes, so that I’m also interested and motivated emotionally. When I was approached and given this opportunity to be a part of ‘Shraapit’, I was really excited because this is, again, a medium I haven’t ventured into, the world of audio. Of course, I was also a bit scared.”
The 38-year-old actress shares further that audio shows are quite relatable because they are like those fairy tales that we used to hear from our grandparents during childhood days.
“I’m sure most of us have gone through that, where our grandparents would narrate different stories to us.

Sydney, Nov 8 (Ians) Former Australian opener and the current Pakistan team coach for the Icc T20 World Cup here Matthew Hayden has castigated Aaron Finch’s side for not preparing enough for the “premium event”, whereas every side across the world had pulled out all the stops to ensure the best preparation for the showpiece event.
On the eve of Pakistan’s semifinal clash against New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the charismatic former opener said, Finch’s side lacked freshness.

Editor’s Note: For months now, Iranian screenwriter and satirist Nicole Najafi has been determinedly raising awareness on social media from her home in New York, posting reportage coming to her direct from Iran as the people push back against the regime, and using her growing platform to explain the situation to the world in simple terms, with the footage to back it up. While women remove their head coverings with heroic defiance and ‘dissenters’ are imprisoned and burned, beaten and murdered, Najafi has, unflinching, covered it all.

Code Name: Tiranga
Written & Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta
It is easy to be dismissive of a film that doesn’t break new ground or doesn’t pretend to. A straightforward sharply-written film about a terrorist extraction gone wrong, Code Name: Tiranga packs in quite a punch in the action sequences.
Shot in the rugged locations of Turkey, this is a slow-burn thriller. Writer-director Ribhu Dasgupta has an interesting track record. He started his directorial career with the intriguing Naseeruddin Shah vehicle Michael and went on to do the riveting series Yudh with Amitabh Bachchan.

BravoCon has only just started, but Andy Cohen is already spilling the tea, confirming that there will be some big news about “The Real Housewives of New York City” this weekend.
“I think you’re gonna get a New York announcement, and I think you’re gonna get a lot of sneak peeks of new shows,” Cohen told Variety. “I think you’re gonna get some announcements of new shows that you didn’t even know were happening.”
In March, Variety reported exclusively in an interview with Cohen that there would be a full reboot and recast of “Real Housewives of New York City,” as well as a second “Rhony” series with former stars. However, casting announcements have yet to be made for either show.
Since its premiere in 2008, “Rhony” has been a Bravo mainstay, running for 13 seasons.

BravoCon will return in the fall after a two-year, pandemic-driven absence. The three-day celebration of the reality TV network is scheduled to take place at the Javits Center in New York City from October 14-16. When Bravo launched the event in 2019, three-day tickets sold out in one single minute, and this year’s weekend passes went almost as quickly. There are more than 60 events and 100 “Bravolebs” to take in this year, and it would be a huge challenge for one person to tackle them all, but surely some of those ticket holders will try. If you’re going to be in the New York City area in October, there’s still a chance to catch your favorite Housewife, Shah, and Below Deck crew members in person. According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, general admission, and VIP single-day tickets will go on sale at BravoCon2022.com on Friday, July 22 at 12/11c.

[This story contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel.]
Now that Ms. Marvel’s critically acclaimed first season has concluded, Rish Shah wants to make it clear that Kamala Khan’s ClanDestine crush, Kamran, had the purest of intentions all along.
When it’s revealed at the end of episode two and the beginning of episode three of the Disney+ series that Kamran actually belongs to an exiled group of beings from another dimension, it’s perfectly reasonable to question the authenticity of Kamran’s prior interactions with Kamala. Was he genuinely interested in her, or was he serving as an undercover agent in order to locate Kamala’s family’s bangle for the sake of his ClanDestine family’s return home? For Shah, it was never a question as he always portrayed Kamran’s affinity for Kamala as real.
“As far as I’m aware, he was never duping her. He...

Fans weren't the only ones taken aback by Jen Shah's plea reversal. A source exclusively tells E! News that several of Shah's Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-stars were "in shock" and "disappointed" to learn she plead guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing on July 11. "The whole time Jen has never wavered on maintaining her innocence," the insider shared, adding that some of the cast is now "feeling duped, misled and lied to by their friend." It's not clear whether Heather Gay or Meredith Marks knew about Shah's plan to plead guilty, but the two did document themselves spending time with her...

Jen Shah may be headed to jail, but it doesn't look like she's disappearing from TV screens ... yet.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star on Monday pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Shah was arrested in March 2021, and the fallout of the arrest played out on the second season of the series.
On the show, Shah claimed she was innocent, but that all changed on Monday when she changed her plea.
The 48-year-old revealed to the judge that she lied to senior citizens by offering them business opportunities that would amount to little to no value to them.
“We used interstate telephones and emails. I knew many of the purchasers were over the age of 55,” Shah said.
“I am so sorry.”
“ knew it was wrong. Many people were harmed and I’m so sorry.”
The bombshell anouncement took many by surprise, especially because...
