Exclusive: In a major legal victory for the Art Directors Guild and Chuck Parker, its national executive director, the National Labor Relations Board has dismissed a complaint filed by the guild’s former head accountant who claimed that she was fired back in 2020 because she’d been a leader of the successful campaign to unionize the guild’s office staff.
In dismissing the complaint, the Nlrb overruled an administrative law judge who determined last year that the accountant, Nicole Oeuvray, had been fired for her union activities, and that the stated reasons that Parker had given for her termination were “pretextual and her discharge was discriminatorily motivated.”
“We disagree,” a three-member Nlrb panel, headed by Nlrb Chairwoman Lauren McFerran, said in a ruling handed down on Tuesday. “The reasons listed in the termination notice concerned performance matters that preceded Oeuvray’s union activities.” Therefore, the panel ruled, “We find the discharge was not unlawful.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s role in Sex and the City and other ventures once made her one of the highest-earning actors in show business. At one point, her earnings rivaled movie star Angelina Jolie’s, which was surprising to Parker.

Jolie and Parker had two different career paths. Jolie built up her career through a variety of movies, like Girl, Interrupted and Original Sin. She also began developing a reputation as an action star. The Lara Croft films and Mr. and Mrs. Smith were just a couple of projects that demonstrated her credibility as an action hero.
Parker’s rise in stardom, however, might’ve been a bit slower. She became a successful film star in her own right with a few leading and supporting roles under her belt. Perhaps...

Adam and Danielle Busby have graced our televisions on TLC’s OutDaughtered since 2016. The two are the parents of the United States’ only all-female set of quintuplets, and they share an older daughter, Blayke, who is four years ahead of her younger sisters. That makes six daughters total — and it also makes for a great TV show.
Adam and Danielle have talked about why they chose to do the show, and some might automatically assume it’s for the paycheck. While there’s a chance that that helps, Adam and Danielle have said there is actually another reason behind their motivation for the show.

Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristin Davis are all tempering expectations around Kim Cattrall’s much-hyped cameo in the current second season of And Just Like That… As Sex and the City fans well know, Cattrall was not invited to join Ajlt, the HBO show’s Max revival, after she said she was done playing Samantha Jones and after her public falling-out with Parker. As Variety revealed last month, however, Cattrall did agree to a cameo in Ajlt Season 2 at the request of HBO & Max CEO Casey Boys. Francois Durand/Getty Images The news came as a thrill to Satc fans who love and miss the outspoken, “try-sexual” Samantha, but now Cattrall’s former costars are making sure fans know the cameo is indeed a fleeting moment. “We were very disappointed that the secret leaked of Kim’s upcoming appearance. We so hoped it was something people wouldn’t...

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker wanted to keep Samantha’s return a secret for the fans, but things didn’t play out the way she had hoped. During an appearance on Sirius Xm’s ‘Radio Andy’, the 58-year-old ‘Sex and the City’ alum revealed that she had been frustrated those details of Kim Cattrall’s cameo on the series’ revival, ‘And Just Like That’, had been leaked, reports People magazine.
Parker confessed she “could not have been more upset” that the surprise reveal had been outed.
The actress also called it a “big bummer” as there would have been “fireworks” when loyal ‘Sex and the City’ fans spotted Cattrall, 66, on screen.
“Also, because we want to make sure that expectations are real,” she continued.
“It’s a little exchange that is happy. It says everything about their relationship and other stuff that’s off-camera (sic).”

Sarah Jessica Parker Once Shared She Was Against Blake Lively’s Potential ‘Sex and the City’ Prequel
Sarah Jessica Parker has recently returned to the Sex and the City franchise with the Max sequel And Just Like That. But years prior, there were talks of a potential prequel to the series starring Blake Lively.

Even after the Sex and the City series ended, the property itself continued to thrive. The television show spawned two successful theatrical releases, and soon afterwards there were rumblings of a prequel series being developed. But there weren’t too many Sex and the City alums that favored the idea. Sex and the City director Michael Patrick King, who had strong ties to the show, was firmly against the concept.
“The idea of going backwards and making [Carrie] less evolved … is something that I don’t even imagine doing,” King once told the Los Angeles Times.

Nancy and Celia may be back in business. Elizabeth Perkins, who starred as Celia Hodes on the Showtime series “Weeds” from 2005-2009, tells Variety she’d gladly step back into the role now that a revival of the show is reportedly in the works.
“It’s just that— it’s talking,” Perkins said when asked about talk of a reboot. “I’d be on board. I loved working with Mary-Louise Parker. I love those two characters together, Nancy and Celia!”
Deadline reported in May that a “Weeds” reboot was in development at Showtime with lead star Parker attached to star and executive produce. (Variety first exclusively reported the reboot was in the works at Starz in 2019). Lionsgate, the studio behind the production, declined to comment at the time.
Perkins revealed her interest in a potential reboot as she walked the carpet for Apple TV+’s “The Afterparty” Season 2 on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

The Season 2 premiere of “And Just Like That” opens with a montage with the three main characters — Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) — engaged in intimate acts with their respective lovers. Jimmy Juliano’s debut novel, “Dead Eleven,” has an unusual backstory.
The book, out Tuesday, is a spooky tale of a remote island where inhabitants are obsessed with ’90s nostalgia, which earned a coveted jacket blurb from “Goosebumps” guru R. L. Stine and already has a film development deal with A+E Studios. But Juliano is the first to admit that his path into publishing and Hollywood “feels like a back door into the industry.”
Juliano, an educator who works at Lake Forest High School in suburban Chicago, first made a name for himself as u/Red_Grin, a Reddit user posting scary stories to the NoSleep subreddit. The community, with over 17 million members, is “a place for redditors to share their scary personal experiences” — and while the stories (probably) aren’t real, “treat everything as though it is a true recount of events.”

The sixteenth episode of How I Met Your Father concluded with Rachel and Ellen breaking up over the fact that the former needed some space. Sophie discovers that Jesse performs bad parody songs about his colleagues at a bar in New Jersey, which is what led to him being ostracized by them. The only solution that worked for them was to roast Jesse in return. Charlie and Val end up going on a faux date, which is an eye-opener for them about how they feel about each other. They consider themselves friends. It would be interesting to watch how the group moves forward from here, especially Ellen.
Spoilers Ahead
No Phone For A Day
After seeing Ellen obsessing over Rachel through social media and Val mindlessly scrolling the internet, Sophie decides to make a pact with the group about not using phones for a day. Sophie does this because she feels that as a friend,...

Responding to a New York Post story over the weekend alleging Noth feels “iced out” by his Sex and the City-turned-And Just Like That… colleagues, the man behind the late Mr. Big wrote on Instagram, “I usually don’t respond to this kind of thing. Kim Cattrall said earlier this month that she would return for a scene in And Just Like That…, a spin-off series of Sex and the City whose second season premiered on Thursday on Max.
Sarah Jessica Parker hinted that the season two finale would feature a “sentimental” phone call between her character Carrie Bradshaw and Cattrall’s Samantha Jones.
Parker considered Samantha’s appearance a “very opportune moment in a very specific story, in a sort of consequential event in Carrie’s life.”
In season one, Cattrall’s character was included in the story through text messages with Carrie. This marks the first time that Cattrall will physically appear on the show.
Samantha’s return comes 25 years after Sex and the City‘s premiere on HBO. Since then, there has been a feeling of uneasiness between Parker and Cattrall, who previously talked about her indifference toward new stories in the Sex and the City universe.

After a couple of episodes of And Just Like That’s second season, a feeling washes over. Like a conversation with old friends or a favorite pair of jeans, the Max revival series settles in with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) and their expanded brunch table, and things look different yet feel familiar. It’s like watching Sex and the City.
“We had a season that was dominated by a loss and the grief that commonly follows a loss like that. That is a color and you cannot escape; even in the attempt to find nobility in that grief and be unburdensome to other people, it still exists,” Parker tells The Hollywood Reporter of the first-season storyline centering around Carrie mourning husband Big (Chris Noth). “And this is a season about resurfacing. Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Season 2 of “And Just Like That,” now streaming on Max.
When it came to making the second season of “And Just Like That” — Max’s popular revival of HBO’s iconic “Sex and the City” — showrunner Michael Patrick King found that he simply couldn’t fit what he and the writers had planned into the standard 10-episode season Max was expecting.
After all, “Sex and the City” stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) had been joined by four new main characters, played by Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa Todd Wexley), Karen Pittman (Nya), Sara Ramírez (Che Diaz) and Sarita Choudhury (Seema). King knew he wanted to build on those characters, and integrate them more deeply into the story in order to smooth some of the bumpiness of Season 1.

Sarah Jessica Parker found the perfect way to celebrate 25 years of “Sex and the City”.
The actress — who plays columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the much-loved show, as well as the spinoff “And Just Like That…” — recreated multiple moments from the series for Vogue’s new digital cover and accompanying YouTube and social media clips.
One key moment they recreated was that passing city bus and the puddle scene from the opening credits — but, this time it didn’t splash Parker and it had her Vogue cover on the sign, instead of her column.

More than the many dates or inappropriate brunch talks, “Sex and the City” has always been known for one thing: its fashion. That certainly carries over to its long-in-the-making sequel series “And Just Like That,” which premiered its first episode of Season 2 Thursday.
Centered on Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie and co. getting ready to attend the Met Gala, there’s a throwback fashion moment in Episode 1 that will make longtime fans of the franchise catch their breath: the Vivienne Westwood wedding dress.
“In one second, that showed you that Carrie is trying to move forward in her life,” costume designer Molly Rogers told TheWrap, nodding to the stagnancy she felt in Season 1 after Big’s death.
The moment comes after the episode shows Carrie being sewn into a poorly made garment from Jackie’s (Bobby Lee) wife for the gala. At the very last moment, Carrie concedes that the...

The good news is Stanford does appear in the first three episodes of the reboot's first season, but those are the only times he physically shows up. However, his character still lives on in the revival through subtle mentions.

Every generation gets the aspirational workplace it deserves. In 2006, “The Devil Wears Prada” helped establish the archetype of an imperious, intimidating woman who rules her chic urban office with an iron fist; with its obvious Anna Wintour analog, the book-turned-film also doubled as a bookend to the era of the print magazine editor’s omnipotence. Eight years later, Sophia Amoruso coined the term “Girlboss,” a cutesy moniker that soon got a Netflix adaptation to match. Latter-day examples have updated the template to keep pace with the times: “Younger” took place in the wake of the Great Recession, when securing a dream job requires some deceit, while “The Bold Type” was proudly progressive — think 2010s Cosmo, not mid-aughts Vogue. In these stories, actual employment is less secure, but the employer acts less like a dictator than a stern, if nurturing, mentor.

“And Just Like That” stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon have broken their silence about the surprising news that Kim Cattrall will appear as Samantha Jones in the “Sex and the City” sequel series.
“We had a conversation about it and we decided that it was right for the fans,” Davis, an executive producer of “And Just Like That” alongside Parker, Nixon, and showrunner Michael Patrick King, told Entertainment Weekly. “The fans miss Samantha. The fans love Samantha. Samantha’s a fantastic character. We get it.”
After appearing in two “Sex and the City” feature films, Cattrall turned down the opportunity to return for “Sex and the City 3,” in part, due to issues with the direction of the script and Samantha’s role. Shortly after, Cattrall and Parker engaged in a public falling out that resulted in Cattrall distancing herself from the franchise even further. The Samantha...

And Just Like That… fans are highly anticipating Kim Cattrall‘s return to the Sex and the City universe, and now Sarah Jessica Parker is opening up about how it all came about. “It was just an idea that we all discussed, [showrunner] Michael Patrick [King] and I and the studio,” Parker told TVLine, adding that Samantha Jones’s (Cattrall) return comes at a “very opportune moment in a very specific story, in a sort of consequential event in Carrie’s life.” Jessica Parker didn’t share any further details on what that “consequential event” might be, but fans are already speculating that it might be for a wedding or some other major storyline. It was confirmed last month that Cattrall would be reprising her role as Samantha for a brief cameo in the second season of And Just Like That. Her appearance is set to be short and was filmed separately...

Though the revelation that Samantha (Kim Cattrall) would be returning for “And Just Like That” Season 2 excited many fans upon breaking last month, the HBO series’ cast and creator had mixed feelings about the news leak.
“My overwhelming thought at the moment is that I’m so deeply disappointed that someone leaked it to the press,” Cynthia Nixon told TheWrap. “It was going to be such a wonderful surprise that, as people were watching an episode, ‘Oh my god! There’s Samantha!’ You know?”
Showrunner Michael Patrick King echoed Nixon, noting that the “only upsetting thing” about the cameo is that the press learned of it. “I really wanted the audience to be sitting there and to see Carrie pick up her phone and see that it’s not a text, and then, ‘What?'” King said. “It would have been fantastic.”

It was confirmed last month that Kim Cattrall would bring back her Sex and the City character Samantha Jones for a brief cameo in And Just Like That… Season 2, but we hadn’t heard Sarah Jessica Parker‘s thoughts on the return of her former co-star until now. In comments published by the U.K.’s The Daily Mail, Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw in the Max series, said that Cattrall’s cameo was “nostalgic and joyful,” though she didn’t go into any specifics. “We’ve been really thoughtful about the ways in which we’ve, you know, approached characters that hadn’t been around, the ways we have invited actors back, and it’s been, you know, really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic, but I think more than that, it’s been a lot of joy,” she stated. And Just Like That… premiered in 2021 and saw Parker,...
