Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 17th round of the 1979 amateur draft. ML record: 121-116 with a 3.97 ERA. Won the World Series as a player (Kansas City Royals, 1985) and a pitching coach (Anaheim Angels, 2002).
Unwittingly injured Milton Bradley when he tried to restrain him during an argument with an umpire. Bradley tore ligaments in his right knee as he fell to the ground, and required surgery. (23 September 2007).
