A long time veteran performer and writer from Florida. He has starred
in dozens of stage productions, has entertained audiences in comedy
clubs internationally, and wrote & starred in the highly acclaimed
sketch comedy shows "Dr. Piranha's Super Sci-Fi Theater" (2002) and
"The Return of Dr. Piranha" (2003) in the Central Florida International
Fringe Festival.
Penland has been writing since he was eighteen years old and sold his first movie script, Deadly Species (2002) in 2000. The movie was distributed worldwide, in 2002, and continues to make money, despite its lack of critical acclaim. He followed this with the film "Ghost House" (2004) which can be seen on YouTube.
Penland met his wife Xiao Peng, in Hong Kong in the summer of 2002, and proposed to her on the Great Wall in Beijing, China four months later. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on February 18th Penland worked as a clean-up artist at "Jade Animation" in China. He also wrote the novels "The Vampire Irregulars" and "The Bachelor's Guide to Post Apocalyptic Success".
